描述
The 1810 Series (1810系) is a commuter EMU operated by Kintetsu Railway in the Nagoya area.

Manufactured in 1967 as an improved variant of the 1800 series, the 1810 series is one of the oldest types still in operation on the Kintetsu network. The main body is similar to that of the 2400 series, and follows the company's standard design at the time. It is a part of the 'Rainderia' generation of Kintetsu commuter trains, named after a type of ventilation device on the roof characterised by a long straight vent. In contrast to the Osaka area vehicles of the same generation, the 1810 series was not equipped with dynamic brakes due to the Nagoya Line's relatively flat terrain. A total of 43 cars were constructed, divided into 2 and 3 car sets. The 1810 series was refitted several times in it's service history, air conditioning was first installed on all sets by 1982, then some vehicles had their pantographs replaced. In 1991, most middle cars of the 1810 series was converted to the 2430 series as the 3 car sets had considerably worse performance due to their 1M2T configuration. As a result, all 1810 sets became 2 cars. A second round of body renewal works (B renewal) was carried out on around half the fleet the late 1990s, with the rest being scrapped in the early 2000s. Their numbers would continue to decline, and by 2013 only 2 sets remained. These last vehicles are still in use in 2025, likely due to Kintetsu having cancelled plans to introduce the 'Series 21' generation vehicles to the Nagoya Line. Operationally, the 1810 series sets are often attached to 4-car sets of other types to form 6-car express and semi-express trains on the Nagoya Line, with occasional use as 2-car local trains. A derivative of the 8A Series introduced in 2024 is scheduled to be deployed on the Nagoya Line in FY2025, and thus lead to the 1810 series' likely full withdrawal.
