描述
This mod changes vehicle part spawning to make Project Zomboid experience much harder. Getting vehicle up and running fells like a genuine achievement in comparison with getting vehicle running in Vanilla.

What does this mod do?
When vehicle part spawns, the mod rolls a die to determine whether each part should be skipped. For some parts however it does not end there -- they can be "Hard-ified" further:

  • Engine and Brakes can spawn damaged new_condition = 2^ln(old_condition)
  • Battery can be discharged and Gas-tank can be Emptied
  • Tires can be flat (their pressure will be almost empty)

All settings can be configured via Sandbox-Options when starting custom game.
Each setting uses a "1 in N" chance system. Setting a value of 0 disables de-spawning for that part.

FAQ:

Q: Does this mod work with modded vehicles?
It should! I tested it with KI5's vehicles and several other mods.

Q: Does it work in Multiplayer?
There is no multiplayer for Build 42 as of writing this, but I plan to support multiplayer upon its re-release.

This mod is a spiritual successor to Worse Vehicle Condition, originally made by planetalgol, later re-uploaded by JennsyVonnar. However, I rewrote the mod from scratch, added plenty of Quality of Life features as well as expanded and improved some sub-optimal systems.

I love this mod, but what I don't love is how these "meta scavengers" stealing the parts are ALWAYS stealing the drivers seat lol

"Meta scavengers" are how I explain it to myself that parts are missing. Cause surely the undead aren't like "Yo, that's a neat car seat I want that"

@Cap Currently I do not currently plan to do a B41 version as there is already mod for that ( Worse Vehicle Condition ), but should there be interest in B41 version I could also add B41 support.

Hi @vega_85 thank you for intel about suspensions, I will change the mod to only set suspension to 0% instead of removing them, hopefully it will fix the issue completely. Thank you again. Hopefully I will get to it today evening.

1 in N probability mechanism is what it sounds. If you take N cars out of them on average 1 will be affected. For your battery problem 1 in 2 will result in 50% of cars having battery removed (1/2 = .5 = 50%) , 1 in 10 would result in 10% of cars having battery removed (1/10 = .1 = 10%) .

Hi, I really like this mod, just like its predecessor. Congratulations.
In my game, I fixed the problem with jumping cars by making all cars appear with suspension. At least the problem is manageable until the bug is fixed.
I have a question: How does the 1 in N probability mechanism work? What number should I set so that half the cars appear with a dead battery? For example?

Thanks for the reply, I look forward to re-activating this mod once the issues are ironed out. @Noel, it may be total rubbish, but ive added what i found in discussion after explaining the issue to a few AI models. They seem to say the same thing. Hope it helps.

Thanks for looking into it. In the meantime there's mods that allow you to manually flip cars for a bandaid solution.

I am sad to hear this mod is probably causing theese issues and I will look into finding a solution for it as soon as I return home from vacation.

Can confirm I'm not using any of those mods except maybe vehicle repair overhaul, though I think in that save it was disabled (not 100% sure though)

I too seem to be experiencing the same issue as Malu, where vehicles that have already spawned correctly, are being flipped/moved when offscreen and discovered when a player returns to the area.i have a pretty slim modlist, I have been trying to pinpoint the cause. So far potential cause I’m left with is either this mod, driving skill, lifestyle:hobbies, vehicle repair overhaul, vehicle salvage overhaul or working seatbelt. Would narrow it down if you can confirm if you were using any of these @Malu
