Quick Intro
Switched to Linux and now you can't even playtest your own darn game?
Is it already over for your RPGMaker career before it even began?
Don't worry, I'll show you what nobody else wants to show you!
Step 1: Download the newest version of NW.js
For whatever god forsaken reason, RPG Maker MV still uses an old and outdated version of their JavaScript framework that MV is built upon.

So simply just go download the newest version of NW.js

NW.js's Official Website [nwjs.io]
Step 2: Apply the newest NW.js version
Now were gonna get this sucka all updated nicely

Firstly, standard protocol for those who don't know how or have recently suffered a brain injury.
Open up your RPG Maker's install location, you can easily do so by going into your Library and right-clicking on your RPG Maker MV and selecting Properties.
Then select Installed Files and click on Browse...
Now we wanna focus on these two folders in particular: nwjs-lnx and nwjs-lnx-test
Drag and drop everything from the NW.js zip we downloaded earlier and paste them inside these two folders. Obviously make sure to overwrite all of the old existing files were replacing.
Step 3: Playtesting your project
After you've replaced the files in both folders, launch RPGMaker.
Make sure you're NOT using a compatibility layer.
Once inside your project, you'll quickly come to find out that an error message is stopping you from playtesting. There's a very quick and easy fix for it!
Head into your project's main directory and open this JSON file named package.json with your favorite text editor of choice.
You may notice that for whatever reason, your project's name is blank.
Simply fill it in with whatever your project's name is.
TA-DA!! You're able to playtest your project once more!!
You also should be able to export and launch the Linux version of your game!!
Now you can finally start or get back to making the games of your dreams!!
Closing words
Hope this guide was useful to those who have already abandoned ship on Pissdows, those who are considering it and those who want to make RPG Maker games on the SteamDeck for whatever reason.

And if you're wondering if your project's 50+ plugins will work, I think so? Depends on the plugin of course but all of them should theoretically work just fine since they rely on JavaScript for their inner workings. (Don't quote me on any of this, I do not take refunds.)

oh and also SCREW YOU WINDOWS!!!
I AM SO GLAD I DON'T HAVE TO USE YOU ANYMORE, YOU PILE OF PUTRID FECES!!!
