A Guide to GONE Fishing

🔍Objective
Each day, catch fish and deposit them into the altar to meet your daily quota. At night, the monster awakens. Fail to meet your quota... and it feeds on you.

🧢 Items and POI's

Gambling pool: Drop a fish in the gambling pool and hope you get lucky

Depth finder: Leave it in your inventory then cast your line. You'll see the depth of the water based on the location of your bobber.

Fish trap: Leave it in the water for 30ish seconds. You will see a minnow in it when it's ready. Pick up the fish trap then you will see a minnow on the ground to use as bait.

Portal: Drop a fish near the portal to activate it, then walk through it.

TNT: Can be used to blow up the trees on the jungle bridge, to blow up monsters, or to blow up your friends.

🐟 How to Fish

Equip a Rod

Add Bait
Open your inventory with TAB, Click on bait (e.g. Worm, Minnow) in your inventory.

Cast Line
Face water and press Mouse 1 to cast.

Tension Minigame
Fish will pull the line.

Hold Mouse 1 to reel in.

Release Mouse 1 to lower tension.

Keep tension in the green zone to catch it.

DO NOT HOLD LMB UNTIL TENSION BEGINS TO DROP (2-5 seconds after a fish is on hook)

Deposit Fish
Bring fish to the altar and drop them in
Press Mouse 1 or G to deposit fish and progress the quota.
The fire will grow in size as you get closer to meeting quota. Once the fire has turned BLUE, you can sleep peacefully at night.

🛒 The Trader
Visits the cabin daily

Players share gold, line, rod, and sinker upgrades are personal

Sell fish for currency.

Buy various upgrades, and Totems from the trader.

🪦 Totems (Buffs)
Unlock from the trader.

Provide powerful global effects like:

Increased fish size.

Faster fishing.

Nighttime resistance.

More bait from catches.

🌑 Nighttime
Monsters emerge after dusk.

If too many quotas are missed in a row, the lake monster will break down the cabin wall and end the game. If it is snowing, you HAVE TO make quota or you will face a game over

If you stay up to late at night, the lake monster will hunt everyone.

🎤 Tips
Always bring spare bait.

Coordinate with teammates

Don’t get greedy at night. Death is permanent (for the day).

Maybe it is wise to miss today's quota to ensure you make tomorrows quota
