Regarding the hesitation, what if you add a tick box? Because I assume the hesitation is overlapping and interference of 2 mods/workshops as well as the option to keep them at 200 size for those who want. As in, tick the box to change stack size <- said the person with 0 IT, let alone modding, knowledge.
Anyways. No big deal either way. I actually did something else. Using the blueprint mod (clone), i set up multiple cargo ships, so now I only build a destination, and they are queuing up to fill up the storage. So in a way I solved the issues as the devs intended (probably). And once I'm done, just create a different one that will send any excess back to the starting one. So it's a nice loop cutting travelling time massively..... Man I can't away trains
