There are 6 icons (5 if you don't have the quest one, which we'll talk about shortly).

The first visible icon is your net. The number above it is your fish limit. By clicking on it, you can open the fish inventory.



You can see the names and values of the fish, your fish limit again in the top right corner, and the big red button is used to sell everything at once (you can also sell them one by one with a left-click on the fish).
Next to the red button, you can sort the fish by catch date, rarity, market value, weight, tier, and alphabetical order.



The last thing you can do is favorite fish with a right-click. Be careful though — favorites still count towards your inventory limit, so in my case, favoriting 10 fish would block 50% of my inventory space.
You can view your favorited fish by clicking on the star on the right, and go back to your inventory by clicking the fish icon.



Now you might be wondering, "What's the point of favoriting fish?" Well... it’s basically useless (for now).
You can't view the fish in an aquarium mode or see them swimming — it's only there if you’re proud of a particular fish (for its weight, value, or appearance).
Otherwise, I personally think it’s just a waste of space.

The next icon, the dollar sign ($), is for the shop.
Not much to say here, it’s a shop after all, but we’ll still go over the categories.

The hook icon is for buying baits, which are the lures you use to catch fish.



You can refill your baits, meaning you can repurchase them to restock, or buy brand-new baits.
Some baits unlock as you level up, like everything else in the shop.
Keep in mind that refilling your bait is much cheaper than buying it for the first time.
Usually, selling just one fish earns you slightly more money than the cost of a bait, so it’s quite profitable to buy baits if your goal is to make more money — especially since bait increases the rarity (and therefore the value) of the fish you catch.

The dollar icon is for buying upgrades.



Here, you can buy bigger storage, upgrades for your fishing rod (either automatic or manual), and most importantly, quests and the mouse shop, which are very important.

The second-to-last icon, the "ping" icon, is for traveling to new locations.
Be careful though: buying a location only unlocks it.
For example, it costs $5000 to unlock the Beach, but you’ll still have to pay $200 every time you want to go there.
Also note that going back to the Lake is free, quests need to reset before you get new fish objectives for a new location, and unlocking a location does not teleport you there automatically.



The t-shirt icon is for buying clothes, colors, hairstyles, and floaters.

The average price is around $1000. Yeah, it’s not cheap, but since it's purely cosmetic, you can wait before spending money on it.
Keep in mind that not everything is visible in the regular shop.
You probably noticed I had horns on my head, those horns didn’t come from the regular shop, but from the mouse shop that I’ll talk about in the next section.

The next icon is the fishing chest, it's simply your inventory!

Well... actually, there are two inventories: one for fishing and one for your character.
The first one is the fishing inventory, which you can see below.



The second one, by clicking on the t-shirt, is your character inventory.
There, you can change everything you've bought in the shop (hats, hairstyles, floaters, etc.).

The book icon is the journal. It’s simply a bestiary where you can see the fish you’ve caught, their rarity (only for the ones you've caught), and the total percentage (useful for achievements).



By hovering your mouse over a fish, you can get additional information like its level. I’ll explain its use in the "Quests" section.
You’ll also see the rarity of the fish’s appearance here, the number of times you’ve caught it, and its heaviest and lightest weights.

The pink exclamation mark, "!", is for quests, in case you've bought the upgrade.
When you click on it, two things are important: the time displayed at the top and the fish.



The time shows how much is left before the quest reset, which happens every 3 hours. So yes, every 3 hours your quests will reset, including those in progress, so be careful!

The purpose of quests is to earn XP and a bit more money than just selling fish. It also levels up the fish, and leveling them up allows you to sell them for more and increases the chances of getting a shiny one (yes, like in Pokémon).
There are two categories: DONE (completed) and IN PROGRESS (ongoing).
A fish shown in shadow with three "???" is a fish you haven’t caught yet.
Hovering over the fish also shows you its spawn location.

You can increase the number of fish in the tab in the shop, for example, upgrading to catch 4 fish every 3 hours instead of just 3.

There is a question mark "?" below the red cross. It explains the quest system.

Nothing simpler, you have 2 options: automatic fishing and manual fishing.



There are 4 things visible here: the green bar, which pairs with the white number, indicates the fish's health (let's say its energy...), once it reaches zero, the fish is caught. The yellowish bar is the remaining time before you lose the fish. If the bar reaches the bottom, it's missed, the line breaks, and goodbye fish. Finally, the green circles, which I’ll explain just below.

I mentioned that there are 2 ways to fish, here they are. For automatic fishing, nothing simpler. In the shop, you can buy the rod upgrade.



This rod (the design may not be the same, but that's not important) is used for automatic hooking. By hovering your mouse over it, you can see how much the upgrade increases, which is the number of "damage" per second you inflict on the fish's stamina. Automatic fishing is very handy for small fish, because yes, legendary fish have more health, and from what I've read, legendary fish must be caught manually even with a max-level rod.

Then we have manual fishing. Again, you can hover your mouse over it to see how much it increases.



Here, it's manual, which means you’ll need to click. But where do you click? Well, it’s simple, on the green circles next to the fish's energy bar.



As simple as that. Once you click on the circle, it will move to a different spot. This will make you work on your aim, pretty cool, right?

Both fishing methods are viable, each with its pros and cons. It’s up to you to judge that. I mostly upgraded automatic fishing, which I use with the option to hear sound only when a legendary fish bites.

During your peaceful fishing days, at some point, a bird may appear, leaving behind a package.

By clicking on the package, you get an item useful for your session, which can be used in your fishing inventory.



Here’s what I got:

The mouse is an upgrade to buy, like the quests. It serves as an additional shop that is very useful because it allows you to buy potions and accessories that are otherwise not available.



By clicking on it, you access the shop in question.



It has 3 options (which you can increase like the quests, in the shop). By clicking on "reroll," you can make it leave to look for other items to put on sale. However, rerolling takes 1h, so make sure to buy the items you’re interested in before sending it away.

To display the options (which are very important), you need to click on the arrow pointing up above your XP bar, as shown in the image below:


I recommend directly setting your screen frequency to FPS Limit and enabling "Always on top," which ensures that the game window stays on top (except in special cases), even when watching a full-screen video. For the "SFX" sound, you can leave it at 100, and also set "Fishing sounds" to "Special Bite Only," which activates the sound of the bite ONLY when a legendary fish bites. After that, it’s up to you, but it's recommended.

In the other options (the ones in the up-pointing arrow), you have, in order from the bottom, the statistics where you can see your total fish, playtime, and more. Then, you have "Move windows," which allows you to move the window. It’s "Snap," meaning only straight, on the taskbar. The next arrow allows you to enlarge the window. I personally use 225%, which is a good balance. The smaller it is, the smaller the orbs (the green circles for hooking the fish) are. This can help, and it’s valid if you enlarge it.



Finally, there’s the key for the options we've already seen and the red door that allows you to (quite obviously) exit the game.
