"Then, what if witch's is on her period?"


Yeah, another crazy mod because I got a random crazy idea when watching some movies about a woman shouting really loud with a scary face because of her period, & the man just stayed speechless like a puppy getting scolded by his master :D . & when playing L4D2 for awhile, I remembered how witch was always angry. & so, the crazy idea just came out.

So, this mod increased witch's extremity to the next level. Normally, it takes few seconds until she's annoyed & chases a survivor. But this mod can make it happen very quickly or even instantly depending on the value set on the cfg file.

List of features available on "period witch.txt" cfg file:
  1. period_interval: How long until witch starts to get angry. This bypasses the original anger interval from the game when set lower than the cvars controlling witch's anger interval. The value is in second & can be in decimals/ floats. Min value= 0 (instant anger), max= no limit.

  2. banshee_witch: Period's Witch's special skill. When a woman is angry + is on her period, her voice becomes several times louder, so does witch's voice. When it's set to value above 0, the culprit that angers the witch will be thrown backward when she screams. The value affects how strong the knockback force is.

  3. period_anger_radius: How far her anger radius is when she starts to growl in anger. Default value is 250. Change this if you want to do some balancing or even make her crazier by widen her anger radius. Min value= 50, max= no limit.

  4. saiyan_witch: This was originally the default feature for the wandering witch. When enabled, the wandering witch will be covered in fire when she's angry & then attack a random survivor. When disabled, she will immediately chase a random survivor close to her.


Mechanisms of "Period Witch":
  • When a witch spawns, a timer will be set.

  • The countdown timer starts to tick once a survivor starts to annoy the witch & makes her growl. The countdown timer follows "period_interval" feature.

  • Once the countdown timer reaches 0, the witch will be triggered by a survivor in radius based on "period_anger_radius".

  • Some new different traits between sitting & wandering witches:
    Sitting Witch
    Wandering Witch
    - Stands up immediately when angry
    - (saiyan_witch = 1) Goes on fire when angry (like super saiyan girl? :D )
    - (saiyan_witch = 0) Chases a random survivor immediately.
    - Targets a survivor she notices first when standing up.
    - Targets a random survivor detected in her anger radius.
    - Tips: Hide immediately when she starts to stand.
    - Tips:
    - Stay away & take different routes if possible.
    - It's already late if she's on fire, so keep running or shooting.

  • The "banshee_witch" ignore range. So, even if you shoot the witch from afar, you'll still be thrown backward (imagine it like a witch's curse :D ).


So, now, try not to disturb the crying girl, as she's on her period, ok... :D .


NOTES:
  • The value of "banshee_witch" beyond 250 is dangerous. Unless you want the witch to be a "Troll Witch" that can throw a survivor even farther than tank's punch, set this value just below 250.

here's an idea for mutated terror:there could be some "bosses" during the game like giant chargers with different colors and abilities (you could use the ones you already made in the mutated series) and they could have like, 30 thousand hp

If I'm not mistaken, by the same person, "skysky199", his Witch Assault mod forces Wandering Witches to attack a random survivor. Witch Assault works by forcing a Witch to be startled as soon as she spawns, and it works with both types of Witches. It doesn't seem to be distance related either from testing, she attacked everyone, including bots. Maybe you could take a look and have an idea on how to recreate that system for yourself.

Ohh I see. Yeah the Wandering Witch is a mess. She doesn't even work well with manacat's improved AI. When she's meant to be restartled because she gets shot, she goes back to crying, but there's no problems with the sitting witch. I really dislike the Wandering Witch. She ignores bots shooting her too.

@♥Legoshi♥ , the burning effect is actually to give equality/ fairness to survivors. Previously, I ever tested without burning the wandering witch, & as bots are ignored when shooting the wandering witch, only survivor players became the target when she's angry. So, it became unfair to survivor players, like, bots walked past her & disturbed her, but once her period anger was triggered, she chased a random survivor player (if you're the only player, there's 100% chance you'd be chased). With burning witch, that gives fairness in target randomization, as bots can still trigger her.
Btw, what I'm looking for is not how to disable witch startle animation, to quicken the anger interval when period anger is triggered. The sitting witch works well, but the wandering witch doesn't, even with same methods. But I'll try to check skysky's mod about witch.

I agree with that guy, her burning when attacking bots is a bit weird but sides that I kinda like this. You could add the "Disable Witch Startle Animation" by skysky199 as a required item if you want the Wandering Witch to skip that annoying animation.

@слюнявый пиздaлиз , only the wandering witch goes on fire when angered. This is to compensate the less aggressiveness of the wandering witch, as compared to the sitting witch, she won't be angry unless a survivor touches her or stays close to her for way too long time, so I had to burn her to anger her immediately to make her as aggressive as the sitting witch.
Did you face a problem on that witch?
