Intro
Why I'm making this guide:
The Remastered Version of MGMA has updated recruitment conditions. This means that while the recruitment guide found in the Guides section of MGMA Classic can help, it won't be perfectly applicable to this version. You might end up bringing items you don't need, or find a monster girl you want to befriend after dozens of floors only to find that you're restricted.

For the most part, you can get a general feel for what a specific monster girl species will want based on what her genus wants. However, in some cases, there is one species in the genus that will be an oddball out, typically of the third tier. You need to be ready for this.

I'm also going to group monster girls by their element type. There are ten elemental types:

  • Human
  • Demon
  • Beast
  • Insect
  • Winged
  • Aquatic
  • Plant
  • Dragon
  • Spirit
  • Magical
And here's a list of important tips. Read carefully, or you'll find yourself unprepared.
  • To recruit a monster, you need to get their Love Points to 60 (the Love Hearts below their title need to be 3/6 or greater). Otherwise, completing the conditions for recruitment will do nothing. If a monster girl's Love Heart is at 1, you're not going to be able to talk to them (unless you fire Angel Arrows in their face), and if their Love Heart Bar is smaller and shaded, they can't be socially interacted with at all.
  • Bringing a Hero-Class monster girl (Melt, Coco, Arachne) prevents you from talking to them at campfires in the Mysterious Dungeon. If your strategy depends on their help, reconsider taking them.
  • If a newly recruited Friend is defeated in battle, they don't return to the village. To keep them safely in your roster, you need to dismiss them when their love hearts are at least 3, or extract from the dungeon. Once you register them to a home in the village, they will return to the village each time they're defeated. Stable homes are important to a functioning community!
  • Luckily, you only need 123/131 of the Recruitment Hearts (count the pink hearts in the Monster Book) to obtain the achievement. Some Friends won't join you on the dungeon, but their Recruitment Hearts will still count. Choose which monsters you think are not worth the achievement... or obsess over being a total completionist and collect them all.
Human
No one bothers to explain just how much human lineage is within human-type monsters... but given their violent, chaotic whimsy, barely held in check by rigorous discipline or ruthless academia, there is no doubt that they are children of both worlds.

Elves
All elves in this game are archers, and will attempt to shoot your party at range with various arrows.
Most of them want various artisian breads, meaning you'll have to save up on rare food to recruit these gluttons. However, there is one type of elf in particular who is even more psychotic than their cousins - Dark Elves love to explode everything, even themselves. To recruit them, you need an explosive Grimoire, enough HP to survive an explosion, and a fallback plan when it literally blows up in your face.
  • Trainee Elf: Big Bread or Huge Bread
  • Elf: Magic Bread
  • Dark Elf: Use your Explosion Grimoire while standing next to her
  • High Elf: Huge Bread
Shopping List: Big Bread, Magic Bread, Explosion Grimoire, Huge Bread

Witches
Witches are dangerous support units but are otherwise a general nuisance. They spam magical spells with various non-damaging effects, only attacking directly if they can find a staff or are forced to bash their own against an enemy in melee. Every witch in the game loves Cacao Sweets, so it's easy to prepare your stock to recruit them. However, getting close may be difficult; if they boost the speed of an enemy monster or teleport you away from your support friends, you might be screwed.
  • Blue Witch: Cacao Sweets
  • Purple Witch: Cacao Sweets
  • Red Witch: Cacao Sweets
  • Black Witch: Cacao Sweets
Shopping List: Cacao Sweets X4
Demon
Demonkind has a bad reputation for tricking and beating up humans. Sad to say, but they live up to it.
Imps
Imps in general love to steal, but purely to bully others; they'll gladly destroy anything, no matter how valuable, if it means getting to look at angry adventurers lamenting the destruction of a ten-thousand gold relic. However, there's something they love even more: the look on an angry Tanuki's face when her shop is vandalized and raided. To recruit them involves stealing from Tanukichi's shop, and then giving them an item that was stolen. Trying to give them a stolen item before angering Tanukichi does nothing, you need to make her realize she's been robbed before the imp will accept your present.

This is, by far, the most annoying genus of monster girls to recruit. The recruitment process involves angering one of the strongest monsters in the game, locks her out of shopkeeping for a few runs, and makes you feel really bad for her daughter. If you don't have a careful escape plan she can end your entire run. In fact, I recommend you don't recruit them.

  • Naughty: A stolen item
  • Imp: A stolen item worth 1,000G
  • Brownie: A stolen item worth 5,000G
  • Gremlin: A stolen item worth 10,000G
Shopping List: Stolen items worth 1G / 1000G / 5,000G / 10,000G

Here's a few tips that have been given by other gamers:
  • You can defeat Tanukichi first, then steal from her shop. This counts as angering theft, and doesn't invoke her special skills, like summoning endgame monsters or sealing up the exit and your return books and... yeah, she's pretty powerful.
  • If you lure an imp into the shop, she'll run around stealing things, but if you anger Tanukichi then you can give her the items within the shop and find a way to run or defeat Tanukichi.
  • If Tanukichi doesn't have an item of sufficient value, you could sell her one and then steal it back.
  • You could just die. Steal from Tanukichi, give the item and as much stuff to the imp as possible, then dismiss her before Tanukichi and her crew beat her up. You'll be defeated in the process but she'll come back with you. It just involves the sacrifice of your progress and your entire inventory...

Succubi
Don't underestimate these temptresses. Being charmed is serious; your friends will actively fight you with every tool at their disposal, while the only thing you can do is move. Charm can end runs. However, if you have an Anti-Charm bracelet equipped, they become easy to fight against. In fact, that's how you recruit them: wear an anti-charm bracelet, let them try to seduce you a few times, and they'll decide to tag along until they can finally win you over.

  • Succubus: Resist being Charmed multiple times while in melee range.
  • Empusa: Resist being Charmed multiple times while in melee range.
  • Hekate: Resist being Charmed multiple times while in melee range.
  • Lilith: Resist being Charmed multiple times while in melee range.
Shopping List: Anti-Charm Bracelet

Goblins
Goblins are, in essence, really tall dwarves. Their hammers can bash the equipment off of you, so be careful, or bring equipment with an Anti-Flip mark. Goblins are also among the easiest monsters to recruit, as all of them want Sake, a Treasure item you can buy at the home base.

  • Goblin: Sake
  • Hob Goblin: Sake
  • Goblin Hero: Sake
  • Goblin Lord: Sake
Shopping List: Sake X4

Ogres
Ogres are, as the name implies, the powerhouses of the demon tribe. Don't underestimate their slim arms, they've got D&D Strength Scores of up to 19 (or 12 POW), as seen by how they'll grab opponents and throw them across the map onto anything they can find. To defeat them, you need to play an annoying minigame that requires quick reflexes to hit a long sequence of direction keys within about two seconds. However, the minigame gets easier if you have high POW and SP, or if you de-POWer the ogre with Depower Arrows. The more power you have and the more power she loses, the less directional keys you need to hit. The more SP you have, the longer a time limit you get.

  • Ogre: Win in a Power Contest
  • Ogre Head: Win in a Power Contest
  • Yasha: Win in a Power Contest
  • Kijin: Win in a Power Contest
Shopping List: Strength Bracelet, Power Fruit, Huge Bread, Depower Arrows

Vampires
Vampires are exactly what you'd expect; they love blood and they love to indulge in it. To recruit them, you need to let them drain your HP by a certain amount, but you can't do it over multiple sessions. Recruiting vampires is tough, because you need to grind your HP high enough to meet their rich standards.

I haven't tried this, but I recommend you find a sword and shield with multiple slots, and infuse them with Life Fruits. To do this, Talk to Barbara, the Delphine next to Coco the cat cook. This will give you an initial boost to your HP that you can use during the final climb to the 500 HP mark.

Important: Every vampire can summon Bat Familiars. These familiars cannot be recruited in the wild, which means you need to free them from the Vampire's grasp to recruit them. Consider doing this just before or after recruiting a vampire.

  • Vampire: 100HP
  • Rich: 200 HP
  • Demi Rich: 300HP
  • Elder Rich: 500 HP
Shopping List: High HP, Life Fruit, Health Sword, Health Shield

Melt
Melt is overpowered. As your Friend, she retains all the power she collected as a boss, especially her high magical reserves and four magical archsorceress spells. To recruit Melt, complete her questline to restore Tarte, and then talk to Melt.

Lord Tarte
This simulacrum of Tarte at her prime can be fought if you bring a sword and shield with a combined value of 150 to the Memories of Past Brave dungeon. The dungeon is located behind Tarte's house. Defeat Lord Tarte to obtain her entry and a recruitment heart. Bring multiple Revival Fruits and a sword with many Demon Slayer marks. Unfortunately, Tarte will not become an actual Friend because she's too busy being mayor, so you don't get a dual broadsword warrior on your runs:(((
Beast
Beasts are all about shock trooper aggression. The best of them can defeat the strongest of foes without letting them deliver a single blow.

Werewolves
Battle-hardy canines with a desire to see blood on both their opponents' bodies and their own. Recruiting them requires precision with your attacks; you need to lower their HP without defeating them and allow yours to fall to dangerous levels. It is recommended that you only fight if you are certain you can 'play' with the werewolf, and won't fall to another monster soon after.

If you're having trouble, you might find a Knowledge Staff along your journeys. This will give you precise data on the HP a monster has, especially if they leveled up.

  • Were Wolf: The player and the werewolf's HP are at or below 80% of their respective MAXHP.
  • Fenrir: The player and the werewolf's HP are at or below 60% of their respective MAXHP.
  • Red Fang: The player and the werewolf's HP are at or below 40% of their respective MAXHP.
  • Kerberos: The player and the werewolf's HP are at or below 20% of their respective MAXHP.
Shopping List: Knowledge Staff

Nekomata
Nekomata will steal from you, nya. They may also curse your items, nya. To recruit them, find a treasure called a Natural Silver Vine, nya.

It's catnip, nya.

  • Were Cat: Natural Silver Vine
  • Nekomata: Natural Silver Vine
  • Cait Sith: Natural Silver Vine
  • Bastet: Natural Silver Vine
Shopping List: Natural Silver Vine X4

Amazons
These rabbit girls will use their spears to deal severe damage at mid-range. Even worse are their 'requests': to recruit them, you need many spare weapons. In particular, Carbuncle's request is the most spoiled, as she requires weapons with Titles. You can obtain Titled Weapons from defeating Alpha Monsters, or you can make some with Nini, who lives next to Arachne.

  • Were Rabbit: 3 Weapons
  • Amazones: 5 Weapons
  • Zulur: 7 Weapons
  • Carbuncle: 3 Titled Weapons
Shopping List: 15 Weapons, 3 Titled Weapons

Kitsune
These tricksters love to debuff you after they hide as items within your inventory. If one of your items has a weird description text, that means you're carrying a kitsune. The low-tier kitsune are annoyances, but elder kitsune can destroy your inventory items while launching foxfire magic missiles.

You can find Aburaage (fried tofu) often within the dungeon, which the working-class kitsune love. What really hurts is the price tag to recruit elder kitsune: one Magic Key each.

  • Fox 1-3 Tails: Epic Aburaage or Legendary Aburaage
  • Fox 4-6 Tails: Legendary Aburaage
  • Fox 7-9 Tails: Magic Key
Shopping List: Epic Aburaage X3, Legendary Aburaage X3, Magic Key X3

Kotanu
Tanukichi's daughter. She's a little off, but otherwise cute. Talk to her for her recruitment heart, but she won't join you in the dungeons.

Tanukichi
The merchant. Don't underestimate her, she's got high levels and a stronger inventory. If you steal a little, she'll chase you herself. If you steal something serious, she'll summon her friends. If you steal something expensive, she'll summon Fog and seal off the exit with crystals. And she prevents you from just running away with a Grimoire of Return. In short: fighting her is dangerous, but angering her is far, far worse.

I haven't been able to recruit her. Maybe I need to defeat her first?

Coco
The Cook. To recruit her, complete Melt's questline and then talk to her.

Blue Fox
Blue Fox is a particularly high pedigree kitsune with an equally abysmal work ethic. After getting sick of her two-hour daily training schedule, she ran off into the dungeon to get some sleep.
To recruit, defeat the Eastern Shrine Dungeon with three different characters, then talk to Tamamo. Blue Fox can potentially become one of your strongest fighters, as she starts out with a level cap of 200 and can act twice each turn, even without swift.

Tamamo
One of the eldest kitsune. She needs the village's help to bring the bratty Blue Fox back for training.
To add her recruitment heart, defeat the Eastern Shrine Dungeon with three different characters, then talk to Tamamo. She can't be enlisted in the dungeon, but her heart should count for the achievement.
Insect
The annoyances of insectoids are mixed in with their cuteness.

Bees
They're fluffy and they sting. For some reason, their lances aren't considered spears. However, their stingers can deal serious combo damage. Their recruitment is simple: bribe them. The problem is having enough in your wallet all at once.

  • Bee: 3,000G
  • Slow Bee: 5,000G
  • Paraly[sis] Bee: 10,000G
  • Killer Bee: 30,000G
Shopping List: 48,000G

Slugs
These are, by far, the most annoying monster girls in the series. Fitting, as they're all corpos. They can permanently damage your high-tier equipment, and demand said equipment in return for recruitment. Most notably, the Elder Slug has a particularly annoying request that needs to be carefully examined: She wants a negative 10 weapon/shield with a Rust-Proof seal that is not wooden. I recommend you bust up a Crystal Sword to -10, and then slap a Club or a Plating Grimoire on it.

  • Slug: +3 Weapon/Shield
  • Forest Slug: +5 Weapon/Shield
  • Mountain Slug: Weapon/Shield with Rust Mark and is not Wooden.
  • Elder Slug: -10 Weapon/Shield with Rust Mark and is not Wooden.
Shopping List: +3 Weapon/Shield, +5 Weapon/Shield, Weapon/Shield with Rust Mark and is not Wooden, -10 Weapon/Shield with Rust Mark and is not Wooden.

Moths
Moff.
The moths spread debilitating powder, but the good news is that the powder has a low proc rate. Unless you get unlucky, you can dart straight to her before it takes effect. Moths love bracelets, and the high values of most bracelets usually means you can just throw one of your spares.

  • Moth: Bracelet
  • Artemis: 5,000G Bracelet
  • Oberon: 10,000G Bracelet
  • Anima: 10,000G Bracelet
Shopping List: Bracelet, 5000G Bracelet, 10,000G Bracelet X2

Arachne
Arachne's a fairly powerful support/DPS hybrid, with her fairly high stats and web skills to slow charging enemies. To recruit her, complete Melt's quest, then talk to Arachne.
Winged
Fast, furious, and capable of going anywhere, these avian girls plan to make you go nowhere.

Harpies
They'll sing their hearts out with debilitating debuffs, but you should be fine. Mostly. Harpies love bracelets and have relatively low standards, so you can just collect bracelets and throw them out to recruit them.

  • Harpy: Bracelet
  • Mayu Sibayu: Bracelet
  • Jabberwock: 5,000G Bracelet
  • S<e>iren: 10,000G Bracelet
Shopping List: Bracelet X2, 5,000G Bracelet, 10,000G Bracelet

Griffins
Griffins have a worrisome strategy: they carry their prey and themselves to a nearby cluster of enemies, and gang up on you or your friend all at once. However, all that carrying must do a number to their claws, because they love manicure packages consistently.

  • Griffin: Manicure Package
  • Cockatrice: Manicure Package
  • Quetzalcoatl: Manicure Package
  • Hraesvelgr: Manicure Package
Shopping List: Manicure Package X4

Bat Familiars
These bats can confuse your party with echolocation, leaving them unable to fight coherently, but the bats themselves are weak in combat.

To recruit the bats, you must find bats that have been summoned by vampires of a similar rank, and then use a Dispel Grimoire to break the contract. The bats will be half the level of their vampire summoner. However, the Dark Bat has a more... familial relationship with her employer. She requires garlic. For some weird reason, this is the only monster girl species in the game that garlic is used to recruit. (Also, eating garlic increases your POW by 1.)

  • Bleeding Bat: Find a Bat who was summoned by a Vampire, then use the Dispel Grimoire while in melee range.
  • Bleeding Bat: Find a Bat who was summoned by a Vampire, then use the Dispel Grimoire while in melee range.
  • Dark Bat: Find a Bat who was summoned by a Demi Rich, then give her Garlic.
  • Camasots: Find a Bat who was summoned by an Elder Rich, then use the Dispel Grimoire while in melee range.
Shopping List: Dispel Grimoire X3, Garlic
Aquatic
Capable of walking through water tiles, these mysterious naiadic creatures can make or break a team - if you can handle their high standards.

Mermaids
Mermaids make for the best healers in the game. Their healing song can potentially heal the entire party in a single turn, and the effect is based on the target's MAXHP, meaning powerhouses like Melt can have hundreds of HP healed in a single turn. Most of them love a treasure called Smooth Conditioner, but the Lorelei loves Sake.

  • Mermaid: Smooth Conditioner
  • Mellow [Merrow]: Smooth Conditioner
  • Lorelei: Sake
  • Undine: Smooth Conditioner
Shopping List: Smooth Conditioner X3, Sake

Scylla
Scylla are all about blinding their opponents at range, using various magical water spells mixed with their ink. Scylla have stringent recruitment requirements. You need to dismiss your whole party, then bring their Love Hearts to 6/6. Note that a Scylla who was on the floor when your party was dismissed will not be recruitable, but any who spawn afterwards can.

  • Scylla: While playing Solo, Bring her Love Hearts to 6/6
  • Tentacles: While playing Solo, Bring her Love Hearts to 6/6
  • Kraken: While playing Solo, Bring her Love Hearts to 6/6
  • Charbydis: While playing Solo, Bring her Love Hearts to 6/6
Shopping List: Lots of Items
Plant
Be careful - they might not move with the times but their roots are long and so are their attacks.

Alraunes
These monsters don't like to move (though they will if they're on your side), and they spew toxic gasses everywhere. They can be annoying, especially since ranged attacks anger them, but I recommend you stick to ranged attacks anyway; they can utterly destroy you if they stunlock you into a combo with their gasses keeping you restrained.
Every Alraune loves Revival Fruits. You should hoard as many as you can, both for them and the trials ahead.

  • Alraune: Revival Fruit
  • Delphine: Revival Fruit
  • Nemophilia: Revival Fruit
  • Dandelion: Revival Fruit
Shopping List: Revival Fruit X4

Dryads
This genus of monster was not in MGMA Classic. They aren't very harmful, but their requests are almost as demanding as the Amazons. Dryads want many fruits. It is recommended that you take a Magic Pouch stuffed with fruits and save it for when you meet one of these dryads. Note that Nubia wants six fruits, not five.

  • Dryad: 2 Fruits
  • Tre<a>nt: 3 Fruits
  • Gaokerena: 4 Fruits
  • Nubia: 6 Fruits
Shopping List: 15 Fruits
Dragon
Among the most powerful of foes, through the most annoying of attacks.

Nagas
Nagas can be quite... annoying. Not only do they have paralysis attacks, but they can smack apart your inventory (harmful if your bags rip apart in the process) or even petrify you. However, their recruitment requests are reasonable. If you have a kitsune in your inventory, indicated by the strange description text of an otherwise normal-looking item, just give it to them and they'll follow you around.

They say they're helping the kitsune return to their homes, not snuggling the fluffies for warmth all day long... don't think too hard about it.

  • Lamia: Kitsune Item
  • Medusa: Kitsune Item
  • Echidna: Kitsune Item
  • Melusine: Kitsune Item
Shopping List: Kitsune Item X4

Lizardwomen
The Lizards are from a disciplined army and it shows; they use their magic to slow nearby enemies, then engage in close-combat using tempered swords and shields that automatically counterattack. However, they're also on the lookout for rare equipment. If you can give them a mastercrafted sword or shield, they'll join your side.

Here's a quick list of Mark Types:
Purple: Always appears on Titled Weapons. Give it to Nibi for an expensive upgrade.
Red: Red Marks affect the attack pattern of your weapon. You can only install one Red Mark on a piece of equipment. I personally recommend the Spear Mark, it allows your Friends to tank while you stab through their square harmlessly to hit your mutual enemy. But if you're looking for a disposable gift weapon, just synthesize whatever, like a near-useless magic torch.
Yellow: You can synthesize Life Fruits or Power Fruits with your equipment (WOW!) to get these yellow marks. Get a synthesis bag, or a synthesis cauldron, or talk to Barbara next to Coco the Chef.
Green: You're going to see these marks everywhere. Just synthesize one weapon with the other.
Blue: The easiest blue mark to get is a Rust-Proof Mark. Synthesize a club with your weapon, or use a Plating Grimoire

  • Lizard: Sword/Shield with 2 marks of different colors
  • Blue Lizard: Sword/Shield with 3 marks of different colors
  • Red Lizard: Sword/Shield with 4 marks of different colors
  • Dragonia: Sword/Shield with 5 marks of different colors
Shopping List:, Sword/Shield with 2 marks of different colors, Sword/Shield with 3 marks of different colors, Sword/Shield with 4 marks of different colors, Sword/Shield with 5 marks of different colors

Dragonborn
These dragon girls are powerhouse artillery units who view strength as everything. Like the ogres, to recruit them you need to beat a minigame. Again, higher POW means less arrows to worry about in the minigame, higher SP means more time to complete the minigame, and you can de-power your opponent with Depower Arrows. However, you won't have as much time to prepare because they can lob fireballs at you. Black dragons in particular can fire from across the map, making them some of the best possible Friends in your party, and among your worst nightmares as enemies.

  • Dragon: Win a Power Contest
  • Blue Dragon: Win a Power Contest
  • Black Dragon: Win a Power Contest
Shopping List: Strength Bracelet, Power Fruit, Depower Arrows
Spirit
Spirits of Whimsy, Wind, and Death.
Please let me know if you can find a word for entropy that starts with a 'W'.

Fairies
These little pixies hate being ignored. With their low attack power and multiple turns, they'll poke and poke until they kill you or decide to follow you around. However, the Flame Lily is different; she wants to be frozen solid. Bring an Ice spellbook, an ice-based staff, or someone who can freeze foes solid, like Melt.

  • Fairy: Let her attack you for multiple turns, do not attack back.
  • Periwinkle: Let her attack you for multiple turns, do not attack back.
  • Flame Lily: Freeze her solid, then wait for her to thaw out.
  • Nymph: Let her attack you for multiple turns, do not attack back.
Shopping List: Patience, Ice Magic

Aeries
These Fae are the older, stronger cousins of the fairies. Their attacks are significantly stronger and high-leveled aeries can kill in a single turn. Even worse, their wind barriers deflect arrows and fruits, which makes recruiting them more difficult. To recruit the stronger species, you must speed your character up while slowing them down. Slow Fruits will not work, they'll bounce off. I recommend a Slow Grimoire, but bringing a Lizardwoman will work.

  • Aery: Bring her Love Hearts to 6/6 and then give her one more present
  • Sylph: Bring her Love Hearts to 6/6 and then give her one more present
  • Tempest: Cast Swift on yourself, Inflict Slow on her
  • Jinn: Cast Swift on yourself, Inflict Slow on her
Shopping List: A lot of items, Swift Grimoire/Fruit, Slow Grimoire / Lizardwoman

Reapers
The reapers are deadly with their scythes, but they judge based on public opinion. To recruit them, you have to Persuade multiple monsters to leave without combat.
To persuade a monster, bring their Love Hearts to 5/6, then choose the Persuade option. You'll obtain even more exp than if you defeated them, and you don't have to waste time and HP trying to kill them. Do this enough times, and your Reputation will increase. Increase your reputation twice (persuade about eight monsters), and you can then recruit the reapers by increasing their Love Hearts to 6/6
Note that reputation slowly reverts to Neutral as you go to new floors, but some progress will cross over, meaning you need less persuasions to restore your good reputation.

  • Shi no Tsukai: Persuade enough monsters to bring your Reputation to [Very Good], then bring the reaper's love hearts to 6/6
  • Shi no Yakuin: Persuade enough monsters to bring your Reputation to [Very Good], then bring the reaper's love hearts to 6/6
  • Shinigami: Persuade enough monsters to bring your Reputation to [Very Good], then bring the reaper's love hearts to 6/6
Shopping List: A lot of items
Magical
Beings who depend on magic to live. They get quite physical with you.

Slimes
The most common - and yet most varied - of the genuses of monsters. Various slimes have different requests, so you'll need to pay attention to their wants to recruit carefully. Otherwise, they're pretty harmless.

  • <Blue> Slime: Let her attack you for a few turns without attacking back.
  • Yellow Slime: Let her attack you for a few turns without attacking back.
  • Green Slime: Allow her to poison you.
  • Pink Slime: Have a <Blue> Slime in the party whose level is currently at their Level Growth cap, then bring the Pink Slime's Love Hearts to 6/6.
Shopping List: Slime at Lvl softcap

Royal Slimes
These slimes have the power to throw bits of themselves from afar, and can do this from across the map. They all want SP, directly from your energy bar. The succubus slime is by far the hardest: you need 5 Huge Breads to increase your SP limit to 150. There are other methods of increasing max SP, but they aren't reliable.

  • Queen Slime: Give her 60 SP
  • Honey Slime: Give her 80 SP
  • Venom Slime: Give her 100 SP
  • Succubus Slime: Give her 150 SP
Shopping List: Huge Bread X5

Gargoyles
Gargoyles are straightforward attackers. Their special skills are about dealing as much damage as they can. In fact, you can't recruit them out of a fight. In order to recruit them, you need to bring their love hearts fairly high, then hope that when they're defeated they'll choose to join up.

...I have no idea who came up with those names.

  • Gargoyle: Bring their Love Hearts to 5/6 and hope they join when you defeat them.
  • Guardian: Bring their Love Hearts to 5/6 and hope they join when you defeat them.
  • Jargoyle: Bring their Love Hearts to 5/6 and hope they join when you defeat them.
  • Dargoyle: Bring their Love Hearts to 5/6 and hope they join when you defeat them.
Shopping List: A lot of items

About Tanukichi, you can cast knowledge staff on her. That should make her heart appear on monster book

Great guide, but there is the safest way to recruit all imp variant but need some items, like 2 charges postpone staff, immunity fruit/grimoire and ice pillar staff. Use postpone staff to imp to teleport them to stairs, go to tanukichi and take item, use immunity item, use ice pillar staff, reflect postpone staff on yourself from that ice pillar, give stolen item to imp, run away.

This is a great guide! I'll definitely use this for reference as I catch'em all. I will mention though, you did put 1-3 three times in the kitsune section, but I get what ya meant. :sans:
