Stamina System

Beskrivning
This mod adds a light stamina system for all human characters during combat, making fights feel more tactical and grounded without any on-screen UI or stamina bars. (for now)

What does it do?
Basic Stamina System for All Agents
All human characters have 100 stamina points, which are spent during attacks and regenerate when not fighting.

Consecutive Attack Penalties
Attacks drain stamina, and starting from the fourth consecutive attack, the cost increases to discourage constant spam.

Attack Speed Slows with Fatigue
As stamina decreases, swing speed drops. When stamina hits zero, attacks are performed at 60% of normal speed.

Movement Penalty When Tired
Agents with less than 30 stamina also move slower, simulating fatigue and encouraging better positioning.

Lower Damage at Low Stamina
Attacks deal less damage based on stamina, down to 30% of normal damage when fully exhausted.

Breathing Sound Effects
Characters will make tired breathing sounds when low on stamina, with different audio for male and female agents.

Nearby Exhaustion Awareness
You can hear exhausted enemies breathing heavily if they’re close to the player.

Smart Regeneration
Stamina regenerates at 7% per second when not attacking. If there’s a break in attacks, the combo counter resets.

Defensive Retreat Mechanic
When an agent runs out of stamina, they take a few steps back while still facing the enemy and can block attacks if needed. Once stamina is back to 60 or higher, they rejoin the fight.


Why I made this mod
I created this as part of my Realistic Combat Adjustments to slow things down and make fights feel more meaningful. It’s simple, works in the background, and doesn’t clutter your screen. No need for extra menus or UI just plug and play.

COMPATIBILITY ISSUE
When RBM's Posture System is enabled, AI agents do not properly interact with custom stamina-based retreat logic. They seem to maintain infinite stamina and never trigger exhaustion behaviors. However, the player’s stamina system continues to function correctly. Disabling RBM's Posture System restores normal stamina depletion and retreat behavior for AI agents, allowing the system to work as intended. The exact cause of this conflict is unknown, but likely related to how Posture modifies the agent's behaviors.

will this be updated for 1.3? I know its not out yet but I'm really missing this and the Combat Adjustment mod, it really makes the game alot funner and I hope you'll continue making them :):warlord::warband::raganvad::lucon:

also, id like it if blocking cost stamina, especially since its incompatible with RBMs posture system.

i like the concept, but i think it needs some tweaking, here is what id like changed:
- normalize stamina drain depending on weapon swing speed to make quick weapons with low damage per hit more viable. maybe something like stamina drain per swing = (base drain + combo bonus) / (weapons speed / 100)
- have weapon skill and athletics affect stamina drain and regen rate. maybe have range from 50% effectiveness at 0 skill to 150% at 300 skill.

I noticed that you said it's a maximum of 100. Does the speed of endurance consumption and recovery have nothing to do with the character's attributes?

can you add running? like increased speed, for stamina drain and maybe have the AI run in line formation until their stamina hits 50 or whatever.
