They didn't take existing ideas from SE1 on how players did it, they instead looked at what players were building and gave us the tools we needed to expand upon that in every conceivable way. Quite literally, the biggest obstacle now is optimisation. The better and better they can utilise the engine, the more and more stuff we can build and have interact with each other. The only limit to the public release of this game, is the average hardware on the market.
