Beginner Progression for hardcore F2P Meta play
Starting Robots:

- Phantom w/ x3 Lighters -

This is going to be your star Robot for a substantial amount of time. Use this until you can purchase a Pursuer Torso.

If you choose to upgrade Weapons over Parts or Gear then I'd suggest spending all your currency to upgrade three Lighters.

___ Spending Currency ___

However, I would actually suggest to upgrade the Torsos of these two Robots FIRST THING:

-Harpy - Napalm Strike is very powerful and can break the shields of most Robots AND dip into their armor... and that's just from one touch of the Napalm after it hits the ground.

-Bulgasari - Iron Rain is a bit difficult to learn to use but it's extremely powerful. Timed correctly, just this ability alone can nearly destroy almost any Robot. It has a decent size AOE but takes a while to drop. Time it similar to how you time the Alpha Titans big laser beam orbital strike - wait till the enemy has used up all their Fuel so they can't dodge out of it. *You can even body block an enemy Robot so they can't leave the AOE (situational). The Iron Rain ability is also really good at dislodging dug in players. When you get one, toss a Rampant on this bad bitty. Bulgasari Torso is good with Direct and Indirect Fire Support Builds.

***upgrade your main Torsos all to Lv.5 to get that nice Core Ability cooldown reduction. Then lv them to Lv.9 to get another several seconds cut off from the ability cooldown.

___ get multiple Energy Wall Gears ___

Put one on your Phantom and Bulgasari to help counter Flamers. Energy Wall is really good for Direct Fire Support Builds too.

___ Common Pilots ___

*suggested Common Pilots to hunt for

-one's that don't buff Gear - You'll not likely have a fat arsenal for a while so try to find Pilots that have Talents that don't involve Gear - unless you have associated Gear

-flat increases to Weapon Reload and Rate of Fire are good Talents

-Talents that buff Shields and Fuel pool/regen

-Talents that give dmg reduction if enemy is under 100-200 range.

-Talent that grants Shield if you stand still.

- Talent that charges Cycle Gear when you use Support Gear

Pilots:
-Illumination
-"Veil" Silva
-Ruin - must put inside Harpy Torso with an Incinerator
-there's more that are good obviously but I only listed a couple [ersonal picks

___ Titans ___

I personally like the starter Alpha Titan. And I would suggest upgrading your Titan some because it is kind of important - moreso if you play Grim, the Melee terror... o.O

But if you stay with Alpha i'd suggest upgrading so it's dps Ability cooldowns are lower. Make um a lil more tanky too.

___ Parts and Weapons to hunt for in the Shop ___

-Siren Shoulders
-Ares Everything - the Chassis are REQ for several awesome Builds
-Pursuer Parts
-TYR TORSO - This is the Robot that makes the Repair AoE it's Chassis is awesome
-Orochi everything
-Typhon everything - Torso is the ultimate Duelist by making up to three enemies force-reload with increased reload time. It's shoulders are awesome. It's Chassis is one of the best in the game - high acceleration, good speed, good armor, AND awesome Fuel pool
-Cyclops Torso - awesome ability and used in x5 weapon builds like x3Punishers+x2Gozers
*-Ravana Chassis is REQ*

-x5 Orkans*
-x5 Punishers
-x5 Lighters*
-x3 Ininerators
-x3 Trebushays* - use with Cyclops and a Pilot that has Sniper/Arty Crits
-x2 Zeus
-x5 Vortex
-x4Rampants
-x4Scatter (very rare) (can shoot through walls and enemies)

Supply Gear
-Emergency Shield
-Sprint Reactor
-Holofield - good for Talents that charge Cycle Gear
-Ghost Turret
*Energy Wall*
-Fuel Reserve
-Quick Repair

Cycle Gear
-Flashbang
-Nanite Repair - use with Pilots that have Talents that Repair and buff Support Gear
*reflector*
-Gamma Beam - use with Pilots that buff Attack Gear
-Homing Missile
-Infinite Ammo
Intermediate progression
So you got all your fav Torsos to lv.9?

Did all your Build testing and feel you have a good strong Hanger?

***Then stick with what you have already spent Intel on and don't make wild changes to your Hanger.

After Gold you shouldn't really be doing much more testing of Builds. Hopefully you didn't spread your Intel across two dozen Parts... xD

**At this point you should have a pretty decent Arsenal.

x5 Vortex on Pursuer is a pretty solid build

x5 Orkans on a Siren is a req for hardcore Meta play

Harpy on a fast Chassis with Ruin as a Pilot, Incinerator + x2 Lighters or Scatters is pretty much a must have

I'd also run a second Flamer that is super fast with your three max level Lighters I suggested you upgrade

*You could go Siren with Flamer builds btw

**Flamer is a very important class because it is the Speartip of your team's offensive capability - everyone should have at least one Ganker Role type Robot in their Hanger

_---* Main Take Away From This Guide *---_

LEVEL YOUR FAV TORSOS TO 5
THEN LEVEL YOUR FAV TORSOS TO 9
*stick with what you have spent your Intel on*
Core Concepts
___ Direct vs Indirect Fire Support builds w/ sub-classes Siege and Suppressor types

-Fire Support builds provide consistent or timed fire from a distance to support friendly pushed against enemies, and can also be used to defend Firing Lanes.

Firing Lanes are usually narrow cone shaped avenues or corridors downwhich an enemy must trvel in order for them to Close on your position. By defending a Firing Lane you deny your enemy the ability to Close down than avenue.

Closing the Distance is when you take a direct path, moving swiftly, to get into melee range of your target.

-Direct Fire - is when you can see your enemy and you have a clear trajectory through your field of vision to your target.

Punishers and Orkans are perfect examples of two kinds of Direct Fire Weapons.

-Indirect Fire - is when you can not see your target or when the path of your bullet/missile takes a trajectory that takes it outside of your field of vision.

Noricum and Vortex are perfect examples of two kinds of Indirect Fire Weapons

*The Siege sub-class relies of consistent AOE dmg to dislodge enemies from cover. The Siege sub-class would use a mix of weapons both Direct and Indirect. Suggested Build:
-Torso - Bulgasari or Orochi
-Shoulders - High Shield pool like the Ares but Bulgasari and Raven Shoulders are good too
-Gear - must have Energy Wall
-Weapons - Rampant, Magneto, Orkan(or Vortex), Punisher(or Gozer)
*I would strongly suggest using FOUR Weapons, not three or five

*The Suppressor sub-class relies of being able to dump overwhelming sustained fire down a lane - making it nigh impossible for the enemy to close the distance. I'd suggest going full Direct Fire Weapons. Suggested build:
-Torso - Cyclops for dps , Siren for hard CC , Harpy for DoT area control , Pursuer for ambusher
-Shoulders - Need high Shield Cooldown Reduction
-Gear - must have Energy Wall to stand behind while dumping
-Weapons - strongly suggest x5 Punishers. They have good poke outside their effective range. Alternatively you can swap out any number of Gozers for Punishers.
*Really need all five Weapons for this build

___ Roles ___

No single Robot or Build can do everything or carry all by their self.

Stick to the model the Devs intended - Teamplay Comp/Skill Role based Combat

Min/Max your Builds so you are best in Role and can Duel enemies in your same Role.

*Ganker is a major Role in WRF. You'll gank ppl in your Phantom.
Don't go crazy trying all kinds of mixed builds with the Flamer/Ganker type. Just stick to your easy three Lighters and glide up through the Elo.

Thanks.

How were you able to fit these weapons on Bulgasari without running into the weight limitations? These put me overweight by 3, even if I were to replace the Magneto (which I don't have) with a Shredder, and Magneto is 1 weight heavier so that would be 4 overweight.

Rampant
Magneto
Orkan(or Vortex)
Punisher(or Gozer)

What chassis did you use for that? Makes no sense as currently written.
