The game is still unplayable. The dev has neither the skills or the first clue how to manage the game he bought the rights to. It's apparent no improvements will be made simply because the "developer" (read: license owner) either does not have the ability / experience to develop a game, or does not have the tools to do so... or both.
Naval Action is dead. It's time to jump ship if you haven't already. Pun intended.
There are only 2 things that you can do in this new "game":
-> 1 buy ammo;
-> 2 craft ammo.
That's all...
A 9lb cannon requires 6 gunpowder + 1 ball per shot at cost of 10.84, times by 4000 (your hundred volleys) your cost is 43,360. You will use nothing like that to kill a 5th rate but you will loot about a 1000 dubs, which can be sold for 32k.
Similarly with your Trinc figure 5000 shots would cost 68,600.
If you use 1000 rounds to kill a 5th rate (and thats generous) you will be well ahead money wise.
