After several series of transmigrated extraordinary people like Murim Aliance Leader & Superman, survivors started to discover that there was a mischievous god named "Black Liege" that a Japanese little kid they rescued in Yama campaign called "Kuro-chama" that messed with parallel universes & threw those extraordinary people into L4D2 world with unknown purposes. & once they stayed in Japan for a while, another extraordinary youngster was thrown from the sky & landed just in front of them, again. His name was Shoma Sawamura, a baseball player carrying a big enough baseball stick. Some middle-aged people there soon noticed who he was, as he was a character from a console game they had played when they were young, named "Rival School". Nick just kept cursing the mischievous god for spoiling Ellis with fun experiences, while Ellis was so hyped to explain what happened to him & at the same time make a request to be his disciple, knowing that he should be another super person. With his fiery & energetic characteristics, Shoma accepted Ellis without second thought & taught him "Baseball Martial Arts".
Nick: "Ah sh*t...! What's next after this huh? Maybe this crazy god will throw Thor, Zeus, or Hercules too?"
Ellis: "Oh that would be very fun...!!"


Ok, enough for the background story for fun. So, this mod is actually an experiment. Something random suddenly popped up in my head like, "What if grenade launcher/ m203 is implemented on melee?", & I got my attention on baseball bat. At first I tried it only for fun, but somehow, it worked by miracle... I had no idea about the title, until I remembered about an old game I played with friends back then.

So to put it simply, this mod is GL version for baseball bat. Most mechanisms are the same as weapons on "M203 Series" collection, with slight different mechanisms & features.


List of features available on "baseball martial arts.txt" cfg file:
  1. Super Baseball User: Which type of survivor can use "Baseball Martial Arts" (bots only/ players only, all).

  2. Super Baseball Type: Which type baseball ball will be used (normal/ explosive/ fire).

  3. Super Baseball Radius: The damage radius of baseball ball on impact.

  4. Super Baseball Damage: The damage of baseball ball.

  5. Super Baseball Swing COunt: How many swings until you get a baseball ball.


Mechanisms on "Baseball Martial Arts":
  • Keep attacking with baseball bat until you get a ball.

  • Hold E & then press ATTACK to smash a baseball ball.

  • Different from M203 mods, this ball will explode on impact. The effects are different based on "Super BaseBall Type", like:
    - Normal = Shockwave effect on impact.
    - Explosive = Explosion on impact.
    - Fire = Flame on the ground on impact (like molotov).

  • The baseball ball can damage objects. It means that custom enemies/ bosses in some custom campaigns can also take damage.

  • The baseball damage on normal ball type bypasses riot zombie's armor (no need to ask about other ball types, as the others basically are thrown GL projectile & molotov).

  • The "Fire" ball type is ignited on fire, & it uses acid projectile, but on impact it triggers flame instead of acid.

  • Unlike the m203 mods, the balls here will be reset to 0 on the next chapter.


Ok, now with this mod, you can go crazy with only baseball bat in hands.


NOTES:
  • A known bug: If you use a mod that increase melee attack speed & then smash several balls at once, they will explode at the same time once the first ball hits an object or the ground. So, it's better to smash a ball once at a time.

@Bonnie , did you press TAB + RELOAD after changing the cfg file to make the changes take effects? After editing the cfg file, you need to reload by pressing TAB + RELOAD. Sometimes you need to do it twice.
As for that "SuperBaseballComboMode", actually that's a hidden feature that I wanted to add but I still don't have time to work on it. Imagine it like a fighting game, to unleash a special move after correctly pressing certain buttons in order :steamhappy: . Probably if the combo & moves become expanded, I'll make it as a standalone mod for all melee instead.

the message show baseball do showup but even with i edit the config, is doesnt change, like i changed to fire but still normal, 1 swing count but still 10 swing

@Bonnie , did the message about number of baseball not show up when swinging your baseball bat? Btw if you use "Melee Sharpshooting", probably you won't need this as "Melee Sharpshooting" is the stronger version that works on all melee.

weird, config file didnt work, i think is got conflict but seem no conflict, maybe melee sharpshooter mod?

@Bonnie , did you launch the map on Singleplayer? the config file showed up when I tested it last time. If it doesn't show up, you can try the manual way by pressing TAB + RELOAD when reloading your gun.
