WIP / Incomplete
This guide is a work in progress and is incomplete
I am making it available to view as I think there is enough content at this point where people can still find it helpful.
I am also open to any feed back and questions.
I've only beaten Jokerless once, but have gotten to ante 8 twice, not including the win, and only lost because I got too confident and made a simple mistake.
Introduction

The Jokerless Challenge is the last challenge to beat, and as the name suggests, there are no jokers.

It's possible to beat with some patience, and some strategy.
Hands
Aim for Four of kind or Five of a Kind
Choose one card rank, such as Aces to bulk out the content of your deck. Open card packs to add more of one rank of card to your deck - if possible, choose modified, edition and stamped cards.

Upgrade the hand with Planet X.

One thing to remember with choosing Five of a kind as your go to hand, if you play all the same suit, it will count as a flush five, and unless you have upgraded with the planet card Eris, it will score less.
Cards
Personally, I bulked my deck with Aces, as they gather on the far left side, there is more of a chance for me to be selecting them when the cards are face down.

When opening card packs, I look for Aces, Kings and Queens. Kings and Queens can be upgraded with the Strength tarot card.

I also look for cards that are modified or edition cards.
Aim for these modified cards.
  • Mult Cards
  • Bonus Cards
  • Glass Cards
  • Lucky Cards
  • Steel Cards
  • Gold Cards
Aim for these edition cards, in this order of priority
  1. Polychrome
  2. Holographic
  3. Foil

And I'll discuss seals in the strategy section
Tarot and Spectral Cards
Despite being a Jokerless challenge, joker specific cards do appear. Don't select them, or sell them as soon as you can to free up space in your consumable slot.

If you go for a Five of a kind run, you shouldn't need to grab stone cards, ie the Tower tarot cards, though it may be useful to convert a few of the lower ranked cards just in case you need to play a lower hand for any reason.

There is some strategy which can be used with Tarot and Spectral cards, which I'll explain further in the strategy part of the guide.

Do look out for these tarot cards, with high priority cards in bold, and lower priority cards in italics. Normal text indicates medium priority.
  • The fool - creates the last Tarot or Planet card used during this run
  • The Magician - Enhances up to 2 selected cards to Lucky Cards
  • The High Priestess - Creates up to random planet cards (Must have room)
  • The Empress - Enhances up to 2 selected cards to Mult Cards
  • The Emperor - Creates up to 2 random tarot cards (must have room)
  • The Hierophant - Enhances up to 2 selected cards to Bonus Cards
  • The Hermit - Doubles Money (Max of $20)
  • The Chariot - Enhances 1 selected card into a Steel Card
  • Justice - Enhances 1 selected card into a Glass Card
  • Strength - Increases the rank of up to 2 selected cards by 1
  • The Hanged Man - Destroys up to 2 selected cards
  • The Devil - Enhances 1 selected card into a gold card
  • Death - Select 2 cards, convert the left card into the right card
  • The Tower - Enhances 1 selected card into a stone card
  • The Star, The Moon, The Sun, The World - Converts up to 3 selected cards into Diamonds, Clubs, Hearts, Spades rank respectively.
Avoid these Tarot Cards
  • Lovers
  • The Wheel of Fortune
  • Temperance
  • Judgement

Look out for these spectral cards - based off of bulking Aces for Five of a kind, which I'll explain in the strategy part why you should bulk Aces. With high priority cards in bold, and lower priority cards in italics. Normal text indicates medium priority
  • Grim - Destroy 1 random card in your hand, but add 2 random enhanced Aces instead
  • Familiar - Destroy 1 random card in your hand, but add 3 random enhanced face cards instead
  • Talisman - Add a gold seal to 1 selected card
  • Aura - Add Foil, Holographic or Polychrome edition (Random) to 1 selected card in hand
  • Oujia - Converts all cards in hand to a single random rank, but -1 hand size
  • Immolate 5 random cards in hand, but gain $20
  • Deja Vu - Adds a Red Seal to 1 selected card
  • Trance - Adds a Blue seal to 1 selected card
  • Medium - Adds a Purple Seal to 1 selected card
  • Cryptid - Creates 2 exact copies (Including, Enchancements, Editions and Seals) of a selected card in your hand
  • Black Hole - Upgrades every poker hand (Including secret hands not yet discovered) by one level
Avoid these Spectral cards
  • Soul
  • Hex
  • Ankh
  • Ectoplasm
  • Sigil
  • Wraith
  • Incantation

Vouchers
Personally I found it tricky to balance when and what vouchers I bought, as money can be tight early on. In saying this, there were vouchers that I preferred being able to acquire and vouchers I would ignore.

Think about buying these, with bold being high prioriy, normal being medium priority, and italic being low priority. Medium and low priority vouchers can be ultimately ignored and you can still win a run, but having them does make it easier.
  • Overstock - +1 card slot available in shop (up to 3 slots)
  • Overstock plus - +1 card slot available in shop (up to 4 slots)
  • Clearance Sale - All cards and packs in shop are 25% off
  • Liquidation - All cards and packs in shop are 50% off
  • Reroll Surplus - Rerolls cost $2 less
  • Reroll Glut - Rerolls cost an additional $2 less
  • Crystal Ball - +1 Consumable slot
  • Omen Globe - Spectral cards may appear in any of the arcana packs
  • Telescope - Celestial Packs always contain the planet card for your most played poker hand
  • Observatory - Planet cards in your consumable area give x1.5 Mult for their specified poker hand
  • Grabber - Permanently gain +1 hand per round
  • Nacho Tong - Permanently gain an additional +1 hand per round
  • Wasteful - Permanently gain +1 discard each round
  • Recyclomancy - Permanently gain an additional +1 discard per round

Ignore these, or at least put them on a low priority
  • Hone
  • Glow up
  • Blank
  • Antimatter
  • Petroglyph
Strategy
Now we get into the business side of things since we've set a guide on what the basics of the Jokerless run include.

Getting Started
Starting a run I tended to reroll if I saw the first boss blinds where;
I also tended to restart the run very quickly if I could not get Four of a kind at least, and Five of a kind as a priority by the end of Ante 2, as it would mean I would be late on collecting Planet X upgrades.

Going for Aces
Bulk your deck with Aces and stick with Five of a Kind.
Open card packs, and hopefully get Aces with either Enhancements, Editions or Stamps, (I will be calling them good cards, for the sake of brevity going forth) or all three. You should grab any simple Aces or Face Cards if there are no good Aces. Use the Death Tarot card to copy your good aces, and if you don't have any aces at all, copy any face cards (preferably good ones) as it will be easier to build Aces using the Strength Tarot card on them. You can use The Fool to copy Death and Strength to build your Ace stock early on.

It's a balance early to mid run building your Ace stock and upgrading the hand, though having enough Aces to somewhat predictably play Five of a Kind is important. I'd say aim for at least 10 Aces, the more the better, but once I had 10 I felt more comfortable paying more attention to planet cards, though still grabbing more Aces when I could.

It is also a good idea to have a back up stock of a different rank of cards, I'd suggest a numbered card to avoid any issues if you happen to get The Mark boss blind where all face cards are drawn face down, or The Plant boss blind where all face cards are debuffed. Personally, I went with a higher numbered rank, choosing from 7, 8, 9 or 10 depending on my options when it wasn't possible to pick, copy or strengthen Aces.

Planet X - Five of a kind hand upgrade
Aim to get Five of a Kind early as possible - which can be the Big Blind on Ante 1. You can potentially do this if the skip token for the first small blind is an arcane token and you are able to pull Death or Strength Tarot Cards, or after the first small blind you can open a card park (and just for the sake of getting Five of kind, accept or upgrade any card regardless if its an Ace), or Arcane packs from the shop.

When gathering cards with Blue Stamps or using Trance to put Blue stamps on Cards, be mindful of the cards that you will play and what cards will be left sitting in your deck when you play the winning hand - and be sure to have enough room in your consumables area before you play to ensure you collect the Planet X cards.

Using The Fool tarot cards to double up the Planet X cards, be mindful of Planet and Tarot card usage. It can be tricky prioritising early one what cards you want to copy with The Fool, so figure out the order in which you open booster packs, particularly if you don't have the Telescope voucher.

If Planet X is not available, or if both Planet X and Mars are options, such as a free shop or Mega Celestial pack, grab Mars to upgrade Four of a kind, though be mindful around The fool usage.

Hands
Be mindful when playing your Five of a Kind hand that you have at least 2 different suits, otherwise you'll end up scoring a flush five, and if you haven't upgraded that hand using the Eris planet card, you'll score less, which can be extremely critical if you don't have enough Aces yet to do another Five of a Kind, don't have enough discards or hands available to cycle more Aces into your hand.

If you have any polychrome cards, move them to the far right of the played hand, so any mult cards get included in the x1.5

Seals
I think a good mix of seals is important.
Blue seals on any cards you are unlikely to be playing and may be left in your hand at the end of the last play. You can try and get as many as you can for your last hand by discarding or playing High Score, Pair, to cycle new cards in if it's safe to do so and you know you'll pass. Just remember to have room in your consumables.

Red Seals go great with polychrome cards. It may also benefit to get some on lucky cards, for the extra mult and cash proc chance.

Purple Seals should go on any card you'll be discarding. Try not to put them on your Aces.

Gold seals can go on your playing cards. Any extra cash helps.
