There is well over 70 hours of game play in this guide, and while there is some epic guides out there for this and that doodad, when it comes to the ***bestest ever*** trading guide for this game, everybody comes up a little lacking, sure, some will get the job done good enough to get the gator who swears he can sell the oil back to the snake, but there is over 80 characters who are willing to fight along side Nowa. I can be a bit of an over achiever, i want the best gear for my pals, thats a lot of Baqua, even after selling the old equp.

So i am questioning how people made their trading guides, and most show some steps not all steps, some are just like go here, buy this, sell that...

I am writing this because not only do i have a google sheet for all my trading numbers from the switch, but i made a sheet you can edit and plug in your own numbers to check my work

i also plan on includings like where to get items required by luck, and maybe some easy to miss friends

as i try to say in all my guides, i write this for me first, i have a "style" and there isn't enough pennies to get me to change it. If you dont like it, go somewhere else.

I want to point out that i have this almost completed on my switch, and i plan on getting that 100% here on steam after the fact, so just because i might not currently have the hours on steam right now, doesn't mean i haven't earned gotten them.

i swear if i cant confirm something i will say as much.

About the game
Suikoden 1& 2 were some of my favorite games behind guardian's crusade (knight and baby) and the final fantasy games i had gotten my hands on.

learning that this was created by the same person, i had to get teh game when it was on sale, and it does not disappoint me.

there is a lot of humor, and i've seen the complaints, its not for everybody. The game has serious points that feel like a punch in the face because so much is silly.

you are Nowa, and a local female lord has asked you to recruite people to fight against a jerk who through the whole game, he's one of the worst kinds of monsters.... the kind that killing towns for the sake of progress is worth it. what is innocent lives if it means the good of the world eventually (in his mind)

trying to not spoil to many things, you end up holing up in a castle for your HQ, which eventually you are asked to name (there is a pre gen list that you see 3 of at a time, most are great, everybody has opinions about what you pick it seems)

the castle is in a state of ruin when you first come across it, but as you recruit people and gather resources, you are able to upgrade your castle

DO IT, upping your carrying, upping your smithy, your shop, its worth it on a practicle point at least.

Areas are locked against you, and i'm not sure if its level/story/both to unlock, but as you get deeper into some of the areas you get better stuff for your castle.

food, lumber, stone, pelt ~all stupidly easy to require, if you have to make space, lose this first.

you can build a guild and send some people who are not on a team fighting on the world map will try to do the mission. each mission has 1 special item that you can get once, there is one person who is really good at getting that item, most of the time, i have one thing left,

missions will help you get most of the needed gear to upgrade your HQ so you can focus on recruiting and leveling

each area seems to have a level cap, you can get to a close number pretty quick before it slows down on building up.

also **parts** of maps can have thier own monster spawn areas, like you have to be in a tiny area to fight something that will drop a thing you need, that monster appears nowhere else in the world i believe

luck is a thing, in fact, its what is keeping me from the game, while on my switch i'm not super worried about the food and stuff, i do want all the plays, and the tool (item) shops restock about every 30 minutes, ish

fighting is something that is explained well enough in the game that you will figure out your own prefered style

except for dualing, that is something that i struggle with so bad. but there is only a few duals in the game, so i should be okay (please dont let the last fight be a dual)

i think big battles are fun! and there is someone you can recruit to have mock ones all the time

the card, top, cooking, and fishing mini games are somewhat required to get people!

.... there is a lot about this game okay? 70 hours of content, min!

Let me take a moment to explain trading
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1V7-V-uwyrCBmcJ34Vwg3HwOCDzT-EGG26NlzgNWecnM/edit?usp=sharing

so there should be a link above me to a google sheet doc where you can see my table where i got my info and then there is a blank page that you can fill in because you might want to

the set up was grabbed from someone showing just HSB egg, and i ran away with that turning it into my own thing, it was a great start, but not enough for me.

~~

I feel like i need to explain that in the cities, you will see arrows and a % modifier, that is only for **that** city, so buying low at that city and selling high at that city you would make a profit

but buying a carving on sale at twin horn west or athrabalt isn't going to save you money, except at those two location. trust me, you want to buy them at ardinale. I'll get to that in a bit.

~~

After getting the crock, you can build a trading center at your town, and then you can upgrade it so it can sell you 3 things you cant get anywhere else, yes, this worth it.

I want to point out that when you trade enough times, you seem to get access to new items, a wall scroll, kimono, and gleaming orb

another reason for this guide is that most people dont include at least one of those 6 items.... if there is another, i haven't gotten it yet.

~~

i have an idea for how to get the crock when i play this on steam. Basically, i'm gonna buy everything when i see it below my recommended buy price and just throw it in my castle until i finally get to twin west where he is, when you talk to him, he wants you to make a profit of at least 50k, and other than saying "you just started", "you are barely half way there" its kinda hard to track.

getting to him is what made me start looking for a trading guide because id had been lazy to this point and not really tried and buying/selling stuff made me question my numbers

when i play this on steam I am hopefuly going to have a much easier time because i understand so much more now.
buy low, sell high
This should be obvious right? but trying to remember what to buy at this or that city can be super confusing.
I want to point out that if you bought 1 of every single item at the cheapest base cost it should run you around 19,618.
if you sell each of those items for the max base price, you would get around 45,412

so in theory, one of each item total min profit is about 25,794 give or take.

however, unless your short on funds, you prob wont be buying just one.

and i strongly recommend buying said items when they are discounted BELOW the buy price

and only selling when the items are above the sell price

on **most** items the range of the sale price seems to be 79-1120%

the clay figure is an exception... a lot of guides say dont sell it unless its over 5k, and its a valid point.

this might mean you are holding on to items for a minute, late game lets you have an inv of 60 stacks. some items stack better than others, and it does eat into the same part of your pouch as your healing and revives...

but once you get Carrie and jumping around is a thing, you dont have to worry about that when you selling.
MY NUMBERS ARE DIFFERENT RAWR
yes, yes, i knew this was prob a thing. i built my table from two passes through the trading loop, and really only did the second pass because i happened to get gleaming orb, something i'd only seen reference once before and needed to update my table.

there is a reason that one of the tabs on my google sheets is open for you to fill out

in theory, my numbers should be a horseshoes and hand grenades decision on where to buy and sell stuff.

final thoughts?
i really really enjoy this game.

yes, its buggy as heck on the switch, save often. I haven't played it long enough on steam to know if its buggy here as well, but my computer thinks a lot faster than my game boy does, so maybe not.

I love how every big battle seems to have its own special way of fighting, i have been getting stuck on a handful of things and having to look it up,

but now, unlike in the ps1 era, looking things up has never been easier,

and i can even help with the frustration i mean usefulness of how the hecken do you play this game.

please feel free to drop comments! people complaining about my writing style and telling me to be normal do get laughed at, fyi. This is me, this is how i think, and you cannot give me enough pennies to change.

i am out in the wild as AriethNinja, the chibi white mage, if you find me, feel free to come up to me and say hi and tell me how much you hate i mean love my stuff

thanks for reading!
