The most popular - DirectX Crash.
There has been many times when players crash in the middle of ranked match, cutscene of the campaign or any other match.

The cause of this crash can be one of those:
  • Your GPU is overclocked within safe limits.
  • Your GPU is running low on VRAM.
  • Your RAM is running low on available memory.
  • Nvidia Reflex is pushing your GPU towards this crash.

Methods to fix this crash.
1. Lower your graphics settings to decrease the usage of VRAM. Make sure your VRAM usage doesn't jump over the maximum memory that your GPU has as it can be one of the main reasons why your game crashes.
2. Disable Nvidia Reflex or switch it to On. For many, Nvidia Reflex technology causes the game to crash when it's enabled with the On + Boost mode. Disabling it, can highly reduce your chances of crashing. Feel safe to test it out with just On enabled.
3. Debloat your Windows 11 to free up RAM space. You can do so with this simple tool[github.com].
It will remove a wide variety of bloatware apps. disable Xbox game/screen recording, this also stops gaming overlay popups and more.
The installation is quick and simple:
Download & run the script automatically via PowerShell. All files related to the script are saved to %temp%/Win11Debloat if you wish to inspect them. The script automatically cleans up the files after execution.
  1. Open PowerShell, preferably as an administrator.
  2. Copy and paste the code below into PowerShell, press enter to run the script:
    & ([scriptblock]::Create((irm "https://debloat.raphi.re/")))
  3. Wait for the script to automatically download Win11Debloat.
  4. A new PowerShell window will open showing the Win11Debloat menu. Select either the default or custom mode to continue.
  5. Carefully read through and follow the on-screen instructions.
[Nvidia] Import DLSS 4 and DLSS Frame Generation 4 from RTX 50 Series in to your COD BO6.
If you're using either DLSS or DLSS Frame Generation, importing the latest version of these GPU AI features can highly improve your FPS.
Download the latest version of DLSS Swapper tool[github.com].
Once installed, open DLSS Swapper and it should automatically detect your game.

Click on Call of Duty. You will then see a tab like this.
Click on DLSS, press the download (arrow down) button next to the latest version (v310.2.1 currently). Once it's downloaded, select it and click Swap. Do the same with Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction.

Now once you run a benchmark with DLSS and DLSS Frame Generation enabled in game, you should see big improvements in the fps numbers.

Adjusted DLSS files can reset with every COD update. Be sure to check if you need to repeat the process.
Blacked out glitched effects during campaign.
Have you ever encountered a visual graphics issue like this during campaign?

This occurs completely randomly to Nvidia GPU users. Sometimes, a simple game restart is enough to fix this.

This issue is usually caused by unoptimized Nvidia GPU drivers. The current latest Nvidia GPU driver fixes this issue.

Nvidia GeForce Game Ready Driver 572.83 Windows 11 Download.[www.nvidia.com]
The Most Optimized Graphics Settings.
I've ran a ton of benchmarks and I've found this to be the best graphics settings to date that will both, make your game look clear and good and give you great framerates.

Upscaling/Sharpening: FIDELITYFX CAS
FIDELITYFX CAS Strength: 70
NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation: Off
AMD FSR 3 Frame Generation: Off
VRAM Scale Target: 80
Variable Rate Shading: On
Texture Resolution: Normal
Texture Filter Anisotropic: Ultra
Depth of Field: Off
Detail Quality: Low
Particle Resolution: Very Low
Bullet Impacts: On
Persistent Effects: Off
Shader Quality: Low
On-Demand Texture Streaming: Minimal
Allocated Texture Cache Size: 16
Local Texture Streaming Quality: Normal
Shadow Quality: Normal
Screen Space Shadows: Off
Occlusion and Screen Space Lightning: Off
Screen Space Reflections: Off
Static Reflection Quality: Low
Tessellation: Off
Volumetric Quality: Low
Deferred Physics Quality: Off
Weathered Grid Volumes Quality: Off
Water Quality: Off

DLSS and DLSS Frame Generation may give you more FPS but, DLSS causes your resolution to go from 1080p to 720p and may cause distant blur, Frame Generation causes input lag which is not recommended to keep as enabled in competitive first person shooter games.
Configuration Optimization.
  1. In your computer, navigate to: Documents/Call of Duty/players
  2. Find a s.1.0.cod24 file and open it with a notepad.
  3. Press CTRL + F and type in renderer and hit Find Next.
  4. You will find: RendererWorkerCount@0;51989;59387 = ANYNUM // -1 to 16
  5. If you have an Intel CPU, you need to find out, how many performance cores does your processor has. You can figure that out by heading to the official Intel website[www.intel.com] and selecting your CPU model. Once you find it, click on the series, exact model and head to the Specifications tab. Find # of Performance-cores.

Once you find your performance cores, for example 8, do quickmaths and just take -1 and replace ANYNUM in RendererWorkerCount@0;51989;59387 = ANYNUM // -1 to 16 with the number of performance cores you have. For example: Intel sites shows 8 performance cores. 8 - 1 = 7. RendererWorkerCount@0;51989;59387 = 7 // -1 to 16.
  6. If you have an AMD CPU, you need to find out, how many CPU Cores does your processor have. You can figure that out by heading to the official Ryzen website[www.amd.com] and selecting your CPU model. Once you find it, click on the exact model and head to the General Specifications tab. Find # of CPU Cores/.

Now do quickmaths and divide those core by two. Replace ANYNUM with the number you got. For example: Ryzen sites shows 12 CPU Cores. 12 / 2 = 6. RendererWorkerCount@0;51989;59387 = 6 // -1 to 16.
  7. Hit CTRL + F combination again. Type in blood and press Find Next.
  8. You will find BloodLimit@0;57752;48403 = false.
  9. Replace the false with true.
  10. Down under the BloodLimit@0;57752;48403, you will see BloodLimitInterval@0;30928;7741 = ANYNUM // 1 to 2000.
  11. Replace ANYNUM with 1 to make it look like this: BloodLimitInterval@0;30928;7741 = 1 // 1 to 2000.
  12. Then scroll down a little until you see ShowBlood@0;57752;20945 = true and ShowBrass@0;57752;20945 = true.
  13. Set both of these to false so it looks like this: ShowBlood@0;57752;20945 = false and ShowBrass@0;57752;20945 = false.
  14. In the top right corner of notepad, click File and then Save.

This won't change the game much visually and it will not entirely remove the blood effects. These settings will increase your rendering speed and will give you extra framerates for more gameplay smoothness. This is not file manipulation and this is not banable.

@Rhubbs97 @HostileFlame setting your Shader Quality to the lowest possible helps fixing the black explosions and smoke to some.

I’m so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tired of the ugly black explosions and smoke. It only happens in the campaign for me. I’ve done every single thing I can think of and nothing makes it go away. Zombies and Multiplayer look great, the campaign is just broken graphics wise 🙄

Weirdly, with the campaign "blacked out" thing, I've noticed this on my 9070XT, thinking it was busted, and sent it to XFX for a RMA since I saw nobody posting about it and people I've talked to suggested to return it, and in the meanwhile swapped to a 5070Ti with the latest drivers as of May 19, and it's still happening.
