Welcome! This guide will help you get all of the achievements for Split Fiction

KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS GUIDE CONTAINS SPOILERS

It's recommended to at least finish playing the game before hunting for achievements.

All achievements can be unlocked in one single playthrough. There are a lot of missable ones but you can still unlock those by re-playing through CHAPTER SELECT. In this guide, we will tackle every achievement unlocked CHRONOLOGICALLY.

This game has:

• 8 Chapters in total
  
• 20 achievements in total

For the achievements, there are:

• ✨ 1 story-related achievement, CANNOT BE MISSED
  
• 🏆 17 missable gameplay achievements, but can be REPLAYED THROUGH CHAPTER SELECT
  
• 2 collectible achievements:
  
  • 🧩 12 Side Stories - Bookworms
    
  • 🛋️ 6 Benches - Sisters: A Tale of Two Besties
    

* Please correct me if I'm wrong if the 6 Benches collectible achievement can only be unlocked in 1 single full playthrough. I assumed it is. As for the Side Stories achievement, you can replay the side stories you missed through CHAPTER SELECT.

This is my first guide, therefore I apologize for any potential mistakes I could've made.
If you have any feedback or anything insightful to add, please let me know.

No achievements can be unlocked in this chapter.

At the start of the Play Me Techno sub-level, when the characters fell down after battling the SRI, the 1st side story is introduced. This side story is pretty obvious and part of the cutscene so it's not hard to find.

After the cutscene, jump inside the portal and finish the side story to make it count for the achievement.

After finishing the side story, you'll get back to the sci-fi main story. Go forward to your path and you'll come across a platform where Mio will have to use his gravity sword to transport to the other side and be able to throw a ball/bomb to the other player. Let Mio throw a ball to Zoe, so she can throw it to the glass window on her left and grapple through. And another, to break the glass from the other side where Zoe will have to cross.


Once the 2 glass windows are broken, in Zoe's POV, look at the top where you can find a bridge with glass floor and with many people walking through it. Use Zoe's gravity whip to hold the ball/bomb and throw the ball on the glass floor and you'll get the achievement.

After, climbing the ladder and opening a door, you will see a tunnel on the left with a "Wake Up" graffiti on it. Don't go there yet and instead go to the right-side and you'll see a Mastodon Pet Store with a stuffed elephant at the top of it. This is a familiar character to some players if you have played, "It Takes Two".

Use Zoe's gravity whip, to rip out the Elephant's RIGHT LEG AND EAR. Make sure to take out both for this achievement to work.



This is an easter egg to Hazelight's previous game, "It Takes Two". Based on how you unlock this achievement, this was a reference to pretty much, a horrifying scene in the game T_T

After defeating the 1st boss, Mr. Hammer and sliding down a glass platform, go forward through the stairs and you'll see a fence that you can grapple and jump over. Jump over that fence and you'll see the 2nd side story that you need to complete. These portals have some hints to what kind of story you might experience. And this particular portal has pumpkins and hays around it which hints that the side story might occur in a farm.

After falling into the pool after that long car chase, keep moving forward and pass through the stairs until you see a pole you can grapple on the left-side. After grappling on the pole, you can grapple onto a railings on a balcony. Land on it and you'll see the 1st bench that both characters can sit on. Let both characters sit on the bench and finish their dialogue to make it count for the achievement.

Keep moving forward until you land on a rooftop of a building with 3 porta potties stationed at the edge. The main path is directly in front of these porta potties (just passing through the gap with moving cars).

But before we go there, look behind you and you'll see a platform at the top with a ladder. In order to reach the top platform, let Mio go inside one of the porta potties then use Zoe's gravity whip to hold it and throw the porta potty onto the platform (with Mio inside it). Once Mio has reached the top platform, let her knock down the ladder so Zoe can climb to the top as well. Enter the portal to start the 3rd side story.

After you finished the side story, go to the main path (which is the gap you need to cross in front of the porta potties). Use one of the porta potties again to throw Mio across the gap and to the next rooftop building. You need to time your throw well when there are no longer cars moving around.

Once Mio reaches the next rooftop, interact with the rotating lever on the side. This will shoot an "orb thing" across the gap and Zoe can use this to grapple and cross the gap as well.

Once both characters are in the same rooftop, walk forward and you'll enter a hotel of sorts with a robot attendant in the middle of the lobby. Both characters can hit the robot using their weapons. Hit the robot again and again until the robot changes its face color to red and with an angry face (just be careful since this robot will attack you once that happens). After that, you'll get this achievement.

After entering Enduro Luxury Motors, a cutscene will start with Mio and Zoe stealing one of the enduro motorbikes. After this cutscene, this entire Gravity Bike sub-level will be a long motor chase.



Survive the motor chase enough until you encounter a cutscene where Mio will give Zoe a phone and ask her to try and stop the self-destruction sequence being initiated to their enduro motorbike.



One of the factors that makes this achievement difficult is because it's timed (64 seconds) and you have to undergo a lot of puzzles/obstacles on the phone in order to stop the self-destruction sequence. This is only Zoe's part to play as well, while Mio will do the driving.

Whoever controls Zoe will need to be fast in solving all the puzzles before the timer runs out and Mio should also avoid crashing through walls or falling off the platform while driving.

Fortunately, after many tries, I figured out some strategies/solution to the puzzles. Please try to study these puzzles first before attempting to play this part of the game, to prepare yourself.


Regardless if you are successful or not, you will still jump off the bike. But, you need to successfully cancel the Self-Destruction on time if you want to get the achievement below.

If you are unsuccessful, you can Restart the Chapter but you will need to undergo the 1st part of the chase sequence again (before Zoe has the phone).

Restarting to Checkpoint is unwise since there will only be 6-10 seconds in solving the last part of the puzzle. I'm not sure it's possible to complete the puzzle with just a short amount of time but I recommend Restarting the Chapter instead to have more time (even if you need to undergo the 1st part of the chase sequence again, I still think this is a better option).

After rolling down a huge boulder to break a hole covered with vines, you'll get to this section where on the right-side, there's a wooden swing on a tree.


Go to that swing and let Zoe sit on it. Then transform Mio into a monkey and use her Monkey punch to push the swing and throw off Zoe. Once done, you'll get this achievement.

Once you get to this section in the Lord Evergreen sub-chapter, instead of going to the left-side (the area with a lot of plants in the water), go to the front instead where the area is glowing. The glowing effect is also one of the indications that there's a side story in that area.

Go to the glowing area, grapple and wall run until you reach the side story portal.

After crossing the rope bridge and seeing the legs of the Walking Stick of Doom for the 1st time, keep moving forward until you arrive on an open area. On the left-side of it, you'll see a glowing area. This glowing area is the next side story.

Keep pushing forward. Jump on the platform and wall run until you reach the side story portal.


You can also refer to the video below to see how my friend and I were able to achieve this:

After entering this area where you can see the Ice King's castle, keep moving forward through the stairs and look to the left-side where you'll see a snowman with three snowballs on the floor.


Go to that snowman and transform Mio into a monkey to be able to interact with the snowballs and throw them.


Once you throw the 3rd and last snowball, a huge mama bird will fly out of nowhere and will get hit by that snowball. Once done, you'll get this achievement.

Keep moving forward until you reach the large doors of the Ice King's castle entrance. You need to solve the door puzzle in order to enter.


After you finished solving the door puzzle, you'll need to solve the ice block puzzle in front of you, in order to progress to the main story. But before doing that, go to the left-side of that area and you'll see a balcony with a bench on it. Sit on that bench to count for the achievement.

Solve the Ice Block Puzzle and keep moving forward until you have to climb out the broken window and make your way over the rails and into the Ice King's castle. Eventually, you'll reach another broken window. Grapple inside and you'll see the next side story portal.

When you get to this section of rotating machine parts a.k.a. "Toxic Tumblers", keep moving forward until you see a glowing area straight ahead. Go inside the portal to activate the next side story.

After passing through a lot of red and blue heat shields and moving a lot of platforms, you'll eventually reach this section with a rotating gear in the middle. Ignore the path on the right-side (with the red and blue heat shields) and instead go straight ahead with the red and blue targets.

Shoot down those red and blue targets, keep moving forward and navigate all the moving platforms until you find the side story portal. Go inside the portal.


* Make sure to finish the side story in order to make it count for the achievement.

I know there's a lot of run-and-gun type of games that the developers could've been inspired by making this section but this particular level reminds me a lot of the NES version of Contra.

Aside from being inspired by a lot of run-and-gun games, there's one more reference they made in this sub-chapter.

Once you reached this section of 6 purple portals with one gunner in the middle, destroy the gunner and keep moving at the top.


When you get to these 2 portals at the top, keep jumping on the portal back and forth (to gain enough momentum) to jump & access the SECRET ROOM at the top. You will find a secret room that contains 2 portals (infinite loop) and a huge cake on its left-side. This and the achievement name is a reference to a popular line in the Portal game series.

Eventually you'll get to this section where both characters have jet packs and have to navigate across a big pipe with rotating blades running through it.

You can easily spot the side story from here, located on the left-side of the huge pipe. Avoid the rotating blades and keep pushing through until you reach the side story portal. I think these pipes are easter eggs to the cargo tubes in Alita: Battle Angel while the location looks like Midgar from Final Fantasy VII.

After a long section of evading green lasers and passing through red and blue shields, both characters will jump down towards this area where you'll have to leave your jet packs.


Walk forward through the color-coded shields and straight ahead you can see the bench overlooking a glass-paneled window. Let both characters sit on that bench to make it count for the achievement.

After the "Take my hand" scene where Zoe almost fell off, you'll reach this area where you'll need to split up (since one can't go to other path because of your dragons' different abilities).

Mio goes to the left path since she can glide using her dragon's wings while Zoe goes to the right path since she can grapple to the leaves using her dragon's tail.

Both characters should keep moving forward until you reach a plant with fruits that you can feed to your dragons. If one or both of you feeds your dragon with this fruit, you'll get this achievement.

After the cutscene where both characters will ride an elevator platform, you'll arrive at the top where you will see two paths: in front (where you can see two golden balls) is the main path while on the left: is the way to the next side story. Go to the left-side first.


Both of characters should ride the moving platform by interacting with the lever so that you can cross to the other side.

Once you have crossed to the other side, one of the players should interact with the lever again (to the platform you have ridden) so you can ride the next platform at the top. Once you interacted with the lever, jump to the cliff, climb the ladder, and wait for the next platform to arrive.

Once the platform has arrived, both characters should interact with the lever so you can cross to the next side.

Once you have crossed to the other side, go to the side story portal.

Eventually, you'll reach this platform where Mio will have to stand on of the 2 buttons controlling the two wheels where Zoe will have to climb up.


Once Zoe reached the top, Mio should grapple and hang on the hook to the left-side. At the top, Zoe can weigh down this pole with leaves to pull the hook up.


After that, Mio can glide down and both characters can move forward to the main path. But before you do that, to the left-side, there's a bench facing the edge of the cliff.

After defeating the Dragon Slayer boss and exiting the cave, keep moving forward until you see a glowing section to the right-side. You need to cross to the other side to reach the side story portal.

To cross to the other side, Mio should jump to the center platform and glide to cross to the other side. Her glide would be short though and Zoe should hit the "gong with a happy smile" to activate the geyser at the center. Both characters need to time it right.

Once Mio reaches the other side, she can use her dragon's acid breath to break the chains on the right-side. After that, Zoe can roll down and use her dragon to climb up the wall with leaves.

Go inside the side story portal to activate it.

After reawakening the 4 dragon spirits and riding one of them, you'll reach the Treasure Temple section.

Keep moving forward, pass the purple crystals and right before the golden arch gates (to the right), you'll see a glowing area straight ahead with a gummy bear floating in the middle.

Jump on that gummy bear to reach the 12th and FINAL Side Story portal.


If you have followed everything from the guide, you'll unlock this achievement upon completion to the final side story.


* If there's any side stories you missed, the Bookworms achievement can still be unlocked when you replay some of the stories on CHAPTER SELECT.

On this section, Zoe's ball will need Mio's boat to cross and jump on the rotating platforms in the water. After jumping on the 3rd rotating platform, you'll turn to a dead end area where there's a subtle bubble effect in the water.

Go towards the bubbles and you're in for a surprise and will unlock this achievement.


This achievement is a reference to the Jaws movie.

This sub-chapter requires stealth and accuracy for both characters. Zoe's ball must sneak through the robot guards while Mio deactivates the guards by shooting at them. It's important to know that shooting the guards only temporarily stuns them, so Zoe will need to be quick to move to the next path to avoid getting caught.

Considering this is a stealth section, what better way than to reference the main character from a popular stealth game. This next achievement is an easter egg for that.

You need to reach this big gap you need to cross. In order to cross to the other side, use the sliding mechanism that Zoe can magnet to while Mio shoots the yellow button and the robot guarding in the middle.

Once you have crossed to the other side, you will see a cardboard box on the floor that Zoe can roll into and hide. You can do your best impression of Solid Snake and continue on, passing through the robot guards without getting detected.

However, to unlock this achievement, we need to shoot the box while Zoe is inside.



The name of the achievement is a reference to Solid Snake, the main character from the Metal Gear Solid games.

This section is where both characters need to navigate through the dump after defeating the .exe-QT-3.14 boss.


After climbing up a hill of garbage, by the end of that is a container that Mio can hack into. But before doing that, on the right-side of that container is where you can see the 5th bench.

Once you reached the Cell Blocks sub-chapter, Mio can hack this Tazer-Bot that can extend its pole that Zoe can use to walk across.

Let Zoe cross the same platform. Then, using the Tazer-Bot, extend the pole and sweep it across to hit Zoe to unlock the achievement.

IMPORTANT: Poking the other player with the pole doesn't work. Only by sweeping it across and hitting them unlocks the achievement.

In this sub-chapter, you'll come across two paths of lasers (left and right) with a prison container at the end of it.


It doesn't matter who presses the button or get locked up. To unlock the next achievement, let one of you go inside the container and one of you press the button to lock up the other player inside.


This achievement is a reference to one of Hazelight's previous games, A Way Out.

After climbing up the long chain, keep moving forward until you come across this 2nd set of light shards you need to enlighten in order to cross to the other side. Use Mio's abilities to light the gold disc and Zoe's abilities to pull the disc towards the moving walls.


Keep jumping until you see the FINAL bench near the edge of the other side.


If you have followed everything from this guide, you should unlock the Sisters: A Tale Of Two Besties achievement upon completion.


* Not sure if you can still unlock the Sisters: A Tale Of Two Besties achievement by replaying through CHAPTER SELECT. I assume this achievement can only be unlocked through 1 single playthrough. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

After the epilogue and credits roll (you can skip them btw), you'll unlock the BFF's achievement.
