Having trouble getting Steam Workshop mods to work in your game? They might not have downloaded correctly, or Vortex could be interfering. This guide will show you how to fix it.

This is a very curious bug. You subscribed to workshop mods, the Steam client knows about them, but it hasn't downloaded them and hasn't even warned you that there's a problem.

• Open the game's properties window (Right-click on the game's name in the client and select Properties...)
  
• Switch to the Workshop section
  
• Check if the individual mods have a non-zero size (If they have 0 b, they are not downloaded)

Now comes the bizarre part.

• Unsubscribe from all mods
  
• Start the game
  
• Resubscribe to all mods
  
• Exit the game

Now you can check again if the mods have been downloaded. They should show a non-zero size.

If you have the mods downloaded and they still don't work, the problem is most likely with one file from the Vortex app, and the file needs to be deleted.

That file is called mod_order.txt and it's in the Mods folder, which is in the folder where you have KCD2 installed.

Just delete it, and the mods from the Steam Workshop should work (the ones from Nexus, of course, as well).

If you install any new mods via Nexus, you will most likely need to delete that file again.
