A Series of Hints to Beat 2-Star
由 Mojo's Jojo 制作
A lot of players report 2-Star as being their least favorite Snakebird level. While I agree that it is not the game's strongest level, the reasons people tend to dislike the level - not having a logical solution/requiring brute force solving - are simply not true. 2-Star can be solved similarly to the rest of the game - by visualizing required checkpoints along the way to the solution and asking yourself what that requires from you up front. However, it can be hard to see how this is true when the screen looks like a moshpit of maze choices that are hard to tell apart. This guide will aim to provide a series of increasingly direct hints and solution steps to help kickstart player' thinking process and encourage them to solve the puzzle in a satisfactory, logical way rather than watch a video to skip the level or brute force the level until something works.

Hint 1 - A Vague Suggestion
You can logically deduce a strategy to beat this level with mathematical thinking. More specifically, start counting.
Hint 2 - A Pointed Question, You Figure Out Why It Matters
How long will snakebird's body be after it eats every single piece of fruit?
Hint 3 - Spelling Out The First Logical Conclusion
There are 26 pieces of fruit in the level, and snakebird's body starts 3 segments long. Since snakebird can't move into the space its tail currently occupies, it will need an unbroken 30 tile loop through the grid with no crossings to both fit and still be able to move
Hint 4 - Leading Questions to Provide the Solution
If you've played around in the level a bit, hopefully its clear that you cannot pick up all fruit in a single loop through the fruit maze. Your last loop through the maze will need to be the one that covers at least 30 total grid tiles (snakebird will have eaten all the fruit by the end of the last loop, after all). There's really only one path that does this (ignoring mirrored paths or paths that don't pass the exit portal intersection). Since your final loop must be the long one, what do you need to accomplish on your first loop(s) through?
Hint 5 - Troubleshooting the Final Solution
Once you know that the final loop you take through the maze should be 30 tiles long, your path is pretty much forced, aside from mirrored variations (do yourself the honor of mentally tracing a path out for yourself if you haven't already), and has no room for deviations. This means that under no circumstances will you be able to collect any of the fruit not on that 30 tile path on your final (second) loop through the maze. Any piece not in your 30 tile second loop must be collected in your first loop.

It is tempting to try to collect as much fruit as possible on your first loop through the maze since you're already there, but this is actually a mistake. This level is challenging at all because when snakebird gets long, its body segments keep blocking you. On loop 1, you'll need to grab the fruit not in the path you plan to take in loop 2, but make an effort to take a path that collects as few extra pieces of fruit as possible. This will keep snakebird's body small (relatively) and help make sure that you can initiate the second loop without getting blocked by a tail segment that hasn't yet lined up the the loop you plan to follow to eat the remaining fruit

Hopefully this helps! If you're still having trouble at this point, you'll want to watch one of the game walkthroughs already posted.
