__________The Department of Chemistry and You
Chemist
Reports to: Senior Medical Officer. Certain circumstances may change this.

Tasks: Synthesize substances for your colleagues and station personnel. Replace doctors if necessary.
Equipment
Beakers
– vessels for liquids, most substances will be synthesized in them.

At the beginning of the round, there will be several large for 100 units of substances and small for 50 of substances in the department.

The beakers are very fragile and will break if dropped. If necessary, they can be replaced with any liquid storage, even a can of soda. Shakers and some alcoholic drinks are best, since they have a capacity of 100 units.

RnD can create as many new large beakers as you want.

Cryostasis Beaker
- used to store chemicals and solutions without a reaction.

Substances are not synthesized in it, reactions will not occur.
It cannot break, but substances will spill if you throw it, which can be used to create impact grenades (substances will spill and immediately react with each other).
Bluespace Beaker
– same as a regular one, but for 1000 units. Studied by the third tier in RnD. Can be found by salvages. Cannot break.

Syringe
– storage for liquids for 15 units.
Can inject and draw substances from any storage of liquids and humanoids. Also, the syringe can pick up liquids from the floor, which can help to obtain rare substances spilled by artifacts or anomalies.
By pressing the RMB, you can change the movement value (5/10/15).
Bluespace syringe
– same as a regular one, but for 100 units. Studied at the third tier in RnD.

Pill bottle
– small storage for 10 pills, can be placed in the ChemMaster4000, which will be discussed later.
  • By right-clicking on the bottle, you can pour all the pills onto the ground
  • By right-clicking on the table, holding a filled pill bottle, you can move all the pills onto the table.


Bottle
– storage for liquids for 30 units. Can be placed in the ChemMaster. Bottles have no special application and are essentially useless.


Chemist's Bag
- a bag that holds 45 pills (also beakers and pill bottles). Convenient for carrying and laying out large batches.
  • By right-clicking on the bag while holding a filled pill bottle, you can instantly move all the pills into the bag.
  • By right-clicking on the bag, you can pour all the pills onto the ground
  • By right-clicking on the table while holding a filled bag, you can move all the pills onto the table.
__________Equipment
Chemical Dispenser
– The first main workplace of a chemist.
Contains most elements in jugs of 200 units.
Does not contain elements: Gold, Silver, Uranium and Zinc.
Does not contain other important substances: Water, Welding Fuel, Plasma.

Jugs can be:
  • Taken out by pressing “▲” in the dispenser UI or from the list by RMB + “Eject”.
  • Insert new ones to replace those that run out. If you want to add a new element, stick a label on it with a hand labeler, the dispenser will display what is written on the label.
You can insert any liquid container into the dispenser: beaker, shaker, or even a vodka bottle.
Operating principle:
  • Insert the container.
  • Select the input quantity.
  • Select the substance.
When mixing all the necessary substances, a new one is synthesized in the container. Sometimes, for synthesis, you need to heat or cool the substance, more on that later in the guide.

ChemMaster 4000
– The second main workplace of the chemist.
Contains 2 infinite buffers: “Input” and “Output”.
Substances in the buffers do not react with each other.
Inside the ChemMaster, container maintains the temperature.

Working with the “Input” buffer:
  • Insert the container.
  • Transfer the required amount of substance to the buffer or from the buffer.
  • Transfer the required amount of substance to or from the buffer.
    OR
  • Place the vessel with the substance near the ChemMaster. (works with any glass/beaker, as well as with cleaner's buckets, etc.)
  • Hold down the LMB on the vessel and drag its ghost to the ChemMaster, all substances will end up in it.
Thanks to the infinity of the buffer and the preservation of the container's temperature, it is much more efficient to mix large quantities of substances that require heating/cooling in the ChemMaster.

Working with the "Output" buffer (creating pills):
  • To create pills in the ChemMaster, there must be an empty pill bottle.
  • Transfer the necessary substances from the "Input" buffer to the "Output" buffer.
    (Thanks to their separateness, substances can be stored on the "Input" buffer without affecting the creation of pills)
  • Specify the name (applies to each pill and bottle).
  • Select the type of pill (affects only the appearance).
  • Set the dosage (from 1 to 50 or 1 to 20 on some servers).
  • Specify any number of pills, 10 will end up in a bottle, the rest of the pills are created on the ChemMaster. The substance in the buffer must be enough to create all the pills with the same amount of substance.
    (On some servers, creation may be limited to 10 pills in a jar)
  • Click create.
The pills are proportionally filled with all the substances from the buffer.
The substances in the tablet react and are synthesized.
For example:
The buffer contains 150 bicaridine and 50 tricordrazine.
We specify a dosage of 20.
The resulting tablet will contain 15 bicaridine + 5 tricordrazine.
You can use this with any number of substances, creating tablets for everything or for any other purposes.

ChemVend
– a dispenser of elements in jugs for 200 units. Contains the same elements as the dispenser, the number of jugs differs depending on the frequency of use.

Used to replace substances that have run out in the dispenser and for synthesis in jugs.

Reagent Grinder
– grinds and squeezes substances out of objects. The list of things that can be placed in it is quite large, for example, by placing a piece of plasma, you will get liquid plasma.


Electric hotplate
– used to heat substances in beakers. To work, you need to place the beaker by pressing the LMB.

Heats the substance, the speed depends on the amount of substance.

The electric hotplate can be replaced with a regular microwave, in which you can simultaneously heat a whole batch of measuring cups.

Smart Fridge
– storage for the results of your work.

Works like a cabinet, you open it - put something on it - close it.

Accepts any objects, not just pills.

Has a limit of 30 items.

Condenser
Used to condense gases into liquid.

When gas is fed into the condenser, it accumulates the corresponding substance, which can be collected by pressing on the condenser with a beaker in hand.

A standard 4562 kPa canister produces 399.95 units of substance.

Tabletop centrifuge and electrolysis unit

Used to obtain simple substances from more complex ones.

For me, it's kinda useless.

The recipes for them can be found in the in-game manual.
Water and fuel tanks
– not really equipment and the department doesn’t have them, but they are often needed for work, so bringing them from the technical rooms would be a good idea.
__________Container temperature
Base temperature of the substance in the beaker:
  • Temperature (K) - what determines whether the synthesis of the substance will occur. Temperature depends on thermal energy.
  • Thermal energy (J) - depends on the amount of the substance in the container (amount * 293.15 = TE), this parameter changes first.
How temperature changes using cryostylane as an example:
Mixing cryostylane with iodine gives the best result, so we use it:

200 was subtracted from the thermal energy, but since TE is much higher than the temperature, this almost did not lower it.

How to reset the temperature of the beaker:
  • Add any substance to the empty beaker (you can add 1 unit of substance in the dispenser and immediately delete it)
How to get a heated beaker:
  1. Add 1 unit of any substance to the beaker.
  2. Place the beaker on the hotplate.
  3. After a couple of seconds, you get ~1000K, which is enough to synthesize any substance that requires heating.
  4. Insert the beaker into the ChemMaster.
How to get a cooled beaker:
  1. Add 2 units of iodine to 1 unit of cryostylane.
  2. We get absolute zero, this is enough to synthesize any substance that requires cooling.
  3. Insert the beaker into the ChemMaster.

The temperature of the beaker in the ChemMaster will never change, synthesize anything in it. (except for substances that change temperature, for example: sulfuric acid, they will change the temperature even in the ChemMaster).

The temperature will reset only if you put a new substance in this beaker outside the ChemMaster.

To avoid taking out the beaker unnecessarily, drag the containers with the necessary substances to the ChemMaster by holding LMB on them on the floor.
__________Absorption of substances, imposition of effects, blood
Each person has a storage for chemicals (250 units), in it all the substances you introduce begin to be absorbed and use their properties.









Let's start with the appearance of substances in the body.

Some effects of substances only manifest when they come into contact with the skin of a creature.
To get a substance on the skin, you need to:
  • Shoot it from any spray.
  • Hit with a vessel with it.
  • Touch smoke/foam containing it.
  • Slip on a puddle containing it.

So, absorption rate and what can be done with it.
Most substances are absorbed at a rate of 0.5 units per second.
Having injected 30 units of something into a person, it will be in the body for 60 seconds.

Substances inside the human body (may differ for other races) can be used simultaneously, maximum 2.

If there are more, then they are applied randomly, every second the other 2 substances (that is, if you injected 3 substances and you are very unlucky, then one of them will not be applied even once until one of the other two runs out).


















It turns out that we can heal 3 different injuries at the same time or speed up the healing of one by mixing a couple of medicines with the same effect.

However, speeding up kills by mixing toxins is a better idea.
Using the hypopen and the example below, we get a drop in crit in just 8 seconds.
Blood
The human body also contains blood, it slowly disappears during bleeding and is slowly synthesized when the person is healthy.

Injecting blood taken from other people into a person does not affect this indicator in any way, it exists independently and depends only on the presence of bleeding.

When this indicator drops sharply, "blood loss" damage is inflicted. Dexalin and Dexalin Plus heal this damage.

A blood bag restores 10% of blood per piece.
__________Properties of different races
There are many races in the game and some of them are not available on all servers, they may differ in:
  • The amount of substances absorbed at the same time.*

*The absorption rate also depends on the type of substance. Medicines, food and alcohol are absorbed separately and at different rates. The most important thing for a chemist to know is how quickly medicines, poisons and drugs are absorbed, so the rest will not be discussed.

If there are at least 80 units in Dione, it turns into a tree that can talk. The original Dione can be returned by cutting down this tree. Diona can no longer transform from a cut tree.
Herbicides - deals 8 poisons per unit
Plant-B-gone - heals 8 poisons and deals 8 mechanical per unit
Pest killer- deals 6 poisons per unit
EZ nutrient - can be used as food.
Left-4-zed - deals 2 poisons per unit
__________Important, about the effects of substances
Damage Types:
A damage type can be specified that has subtypes, for example:
Brute - Blunt, Slash, Piercing.
Substances can heal as a certain type: Heals 1 Slash
And several at once: Heals 3 Brute
In the second case, the action will be divided into all subtypes: Blunt, Slash, Piercing
It turns out that the second substance heals 1 Blunt, 1 Slash, 1 Piercing, regardless of whether the subtype has damage.

Overdose:
Overdose occurs at at least Xu of substance, this means that if you add exactly Xu of substance to a pill/inject into a person, the first tick will exhibit the property of overdose.
For example, overdose from bicaridine occurs at least 15 units, if you inject exactly 15 units into a patient, the first tick (0.5 units) will cause 0.5 suffocation and 1.5 poisons.
I recommend avoiding overdosing patients, although the consequences of one tick are not big.

Cryogenic Pod
To use these substances, the patient's body temperature must be below 213K, usually this means a cryogenic pod, but you can also achieve this temperature outside of it, for example, by going into space.

To get a substance on skin, you need to:
  • Shoot from any spray.
  • Hit with a container with the substance.
  • Slip on a puddle containing it.
Each entity that can be set on fire has a combustion sum parameter, the maximum it can rise to is 10.

While the entity is not burning, the parameter does not decrease and does not disappear over time.

When the entity starts to burn:
Hitting a burning body with a container of water lowers the combustion sum to -10 from any amount, in simple words, it extinguishes you instantly.

Considering that everyone at the station spawns with a bottle of water, it is not difficult to extinguish yourself, but death occurs quickly, so those who are not prepared for such an attack will probably not remember that they can extinguish themselves.
  • The entity is damaged:
