The Nakagin Capsule Tower was a residential and office tower designed by architect Kisho Kurokawa and located in Shimbashi, Tokyo, Japan. Completed in 1972, the building was one of the few examples of the Metabolist movement, was demolished in 2022.

The building is composed of two interconnected concrete towers, one eleven and one thirteen stories, housing 140 prefabricated modules (capsules) that are self-contained units. Each capsule measures 2.3 m x 3.8 m x 2.1 m. Capsules can be connected and combined to create larger spaces. Each capsule is connected to one of the two main cores by just four high-strength bolts and was designed to be replaceable.

La Nakagin Capsule Tower fue una torre residencial y de oficinas diseñada por el arquitecto Kisho Kurokawa y situada en Shimbashi, Tokio, Japon. Completada en 1972, el edificio era uno de los pocos ejemplos del movimiento Metabolista, fue demolido en el 2022.

El edificio se compone de dos torres de hormigon conectadas entre si, una de once y otra de trece plantas, que albergan 140 modulos prefabricados (capsulas) que son unidades autonomas. Cada capsula mide 2,3 m x 3,8 m x 2,1 m. Las capsulas se pueden conectar y combinar para crear espacios mas grandes. Cada capsula esta conectada a uno de los dos nucleos principales por solo cuatro tornillos de alta resistencia y estaban pensadas para ser sustituibles.

What I considered when setting the quality of life is that the houses are very small, so I considered that despite being high technology it could not have too much, instead I set a high capacity (which in fact corresponds to the actual number of capsules in the building).

For the Hotel-Like-Looks, the quality of living should be a bit higher. really would like to use this but it's just impractical : /

Iirc, i think this building made an appearance in SimCity societies as a part of the cyberpunk building set.

True, it was in Transport Tycoon, in various colors, I've also seen it in some games like SimCity 2013 or Block'hood.

Regarding the dirt, I initially thought of making it cleaner, but it looked a bit weird, somewhat unreal, so in the end I added some dirt, besides, the building was like that in the last few years.

In the short term I don't think I'll make more Japanese models, although if there is one that catches my attention, yes, it's possible, although right now I have too many projects waiting in the queue.
