Kaslo & Slocan Railway

描述
WORK IN PROGRESS (90% done)

I have only fully finished detailing the line from Sproules to Sandon, from Kaslo to South Fork, and the Cody branch, and I have mostly detailed the rest of the line and I have laid all of the track (roughly 90% of the line is detailed). This is also my first route and if you have any questions or recommendations please do ask me. Also please rate this route, I don't care what you rate it just rate it honestly. The last 5 images are real photos of the K&S that have been colorized and a map of the K&S and CPR in the region.

The Kaslo & Slocan Railway is a 3-foot gauge railway that runs from Kaslo BC, Canada to Sandon BC, Canada. The K&S' construction was funded by the Great Northern Railway in 1894-95 to transport silver ore from Sandon to Kaslo where sternwheelers would take the ore to the U.S. The K&S was purchased by the Great Northern Railway in 1903. Then in 1908 the McGugian Trussell was destroyed by a rock slide. Then in 1910 a forest fire burnt 100% of the line. The line from Kaslo to McGugian was reopened until it was sold to the Nakusp & Slocan (C.P.R.) in 1912 and for 2 more years it was used to rebuild part the line into standard guage. The C.P.R. used the line until its closure in 1956. The route is modeled of the K&S in 1899 at the height of Sandon before the fire on May 4 1900.

The line starts in Kaslo and climbs to Lucky Jim (later renamed to Zincton) and then is level around payne bluff and continues to Sandon nicknamed the Monte Carlo of the Rockies because it had a cigar factory, 3 breweries, curling rink, hockey rink, 2 ski hills, had electricity in 1897, baseball, lacrosse, cricket, lawn bowling and soccer fields, tennis court, bowling alley, billiards hall, gymnasium, and a large red light district. Today Sandon has a population of 5 people. The Cody branch Starts at Cody Junction (before Sandon) and climbs for 3 miles to Cody which is the competitor of Sandon but by 1900 the population was near zero.

Credit to Hal Wright who is a resident of Sandon for being a great source of info on Sandon, Cody, and the whole K&S. If you ever are in the Nelson / Kaslo area you should go to Sandon and visit the Silver Smith Powerhouse.

Bruce Rail Fan, I figured out how to do the speed signs in the HUD and I have added them.

Nice job I look forward to it being finished. I would like to see speed change signs on the HUD so I know when to change speed.

This looks great! One thing I'd recommend is cutting back on the 3D trees. You really only need 2-3 rows of them, past that they become giant frame killers and don't look any different that the 2D trees. Overall though, great work!
