everything ig
First we are going to create a shortcut to the launcher
Click on the gear icon

Hover over "Manage" and click "Browse local files"

Now it should bring you here

Right click on "Desktop Mate"

If on windows 11, click "Show more options"
Click "Create shortcut"

If on windows 10, click "Create shortcut"

You should now have the shortcut

Now, select only the shortcut and do Ctrl + X
Next, do WindowsKey + R and it should bring up this menu

Paste either of these this into the box (this is the windows start up folder)
shell:startup
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
(Only paste the shortcut into one of them!)

Finally, paste the shortcut into the folder by doing Ctrl + V

Ta-da! Now you can see miku every day without launching it yourself!

Notes:
Steam has to auto launch on start as well for this to work.
If it does not paste the shortcut into the start up folder, go back to the shortcut and copy it again.

@enkie when you open up task manager and go to the startup apps, does desktop mate show up twice?

@aq3365 yep, only into shell:startup since the other one didnt work. i also redid my steam auto login and auto start up stuff, didnt work either. something is causing it to screw up but i cant figure out what exactly. :steamfacepalm:

@enkie are you sure you did not paste the shortcut into both of the folders? You should only paste the shortcut into one or the other.

it only shows the starting sequence but never loads the character only to then throw an error saying something about there being another instance already open.

Btw, you can use "shell:startup" instead of "C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup"

If you can't find the AppData folder, go to your toolbar and click View and Show Hidden Items.
