It's very simple, guys. I used ent_create in the console to spawn Half-Life 2 NPCs. For example:

ent_create npc_combine_s additionalequipment weapon_smg1
ent_create npc_combine_s model models/combine_super_soldier.mdl additionalequipment weapon_ar2

There! I spawned a Combine Soldier and a Combine Elite in a random test chamber.

yeah cleanup of assets from hl2 to portal was just skipped, this is fun to do though lol
