The Airbus A340-600 is a long range widebody airliner powered by four turbofan engines. It held the record for longest passenger airliner until the Boeing 747-8 was unveiled in 2010. It provides comfort on long-haul flights, though it is a rare sight in 2025 due to efficiency concerns.
The 18 A340-600s in the Sunset Airways fleet were the backbone of their international fleet, as they were the longest range aircraft in the fleet at that time. This shows an A340 in its original livery as delivered in 2008. These aircraft have since been retired, and one was written of as flight SU012.
