M2:
Terran Kyoto, 8x FBC each in the side turrets
So same armament as the Osaka at the cost of being a bit slower, more expensive and much larger while being a bit more tanky and carrying up to 6 M6-sized ships (6 PX for max beam spam, or maybe a few Acinonyxes for missile support)
M1:
Pirate Galleon, 6x PALC each in the side turrets, 6x PBC up, 4x PBC down
Still a horrible M1, but at least it can now look cool while its small fighter wing gets ripped apart
TL
Yaki Ryu, 2x TBC each in the side turrets
A TL of course isn't meant to be a combat ship (RIP X3R Elephant), but it's there
Also what I personally like to do with my Pteranodon is to put PPCs in the front and beams all around. A couple of overcharged PPC volleys strip even M2 shields, meaning the beams can use their high hull damage sooner.
PSG *_never_* was, which likely is why they removed the alpha- and beta-variants with X3TC...
Back in X2, I "accidentially" cleaned a Xenon-sector in a testdrive with my Perseus M3 & assorted beta-PSGs... ( and had to deal with the resulting Xenon-migration afterwards, which greatly slowed my lategame... )
X3R introduced pulse-beams for Xenon fighters, which made this less OP, but still...
Of course it is _purely_ incidental that I'm focusing on getting Paranid ships ever since... * innocent whistle * ...
