This is the easiest step, you simply press whichever key is bound to attack to swing your weapon, the laggier the attack the more effective animation cancelling will be. My recommended use case is the jumping attack of Heavy Melee weapons, to attain utterly stupid damage numbers.

This step is just as easy, whilst you are incactionable from your recent attack, simply tap whichever key you have bound to block, this will cause your scruffy little critter to block the air and be released from their torturous vulnerable state. This also has the benefit of allowing you to parry attacks whilst you yourself are attacking, making the enemies delete themselves from the game so that they don't have to endure this level of overwhelming offense.

You have performed an animation cancel, maybe even two, but you have now failed at the one thing you were told how to do and have eaten 112 damage straight to the all too vulnerable face, killing you instantly. Congrats, you have animation cancelled adequately.
