The Suomi KP/-31 is a Finnish submachine gun that was heavily utilized during World War II, seeing action in conflicts like the Winter War and the Continuation War. It was renowned for its controllability and accuracy, rivalling even the famous PPSh-41, though it was heavier due to its recoil absorption design. The Suomi KP/-31 utilized a unique replaceable barrel system, allowing soldiers to swap out overheated barrels during intense firefights. Initially, it was fielded with 20-round box magazines and 40-round drum magazines, but these were later superseded by more efficient 50-round "coffin" magazines and 71-round drum magazines. The Suomi KP/-31 earned a formidable reputation, proving highly effective in the hands of Finnish soldiers against numerically superior opponents.
