Jade Cocoon is one of a handful of games that have the glorious touch of Studio Ghibli, it's also notoriously called the "Playstation Pokemon" - though in some respects, I actually prefer it over pokemon since it allows for mixing and matching of creatures and your creatures grow and change over time rather than simply "evolving" - while newer monster collectors have done more (a major example being Monster Sanctuary) - this was definitely a flag bearer of its time and earns its position as a cult classic.
