I'm testing with my old secondary config (intel q9650). Eduke does not actually launch on this config, with the 64bit version, whereas i'm on a 64bits os.
Strangely, it launches with the 32-bit. Last suggestion therefore, try downloading the 32bit version.
I updated the guide accordingly ;) Thanks again for your feedback
Modding sometimes requires a little persistence
Thanks anyway for the feedback ;-)
Just to be sure, you must launch eduke32 from the duke32.exe executable (and not from the steam executable).
Maybe try copying both the .grp and .rts files from the original version of Duke nukem 3D megaton edition (files present in the "gameroot" folder) into the Eduke 32 directory at the root, but normally you shouldn't have any need to do this, because EDuke 32 detects the installation automatically.
Keep me informed if you can ;) Because if the problem comes from there, I will update the guide.
Thanks for the feedback ;)
I'm sorry to hear it didn't work for you.
Did you use the Megaton edition of Steam? The 2018 version of Eduke 32 and the 2.40 version of Duke? Have you tried on Windows 10 or Windows 11?
Maybe a problem with the version of the game which may differ depending on the country. For me it works very well so if you followed the installation correctly it should work. We can add us in contact if you want so that I can try to help you but I lack feedback from users for the moment to know where the problem could come from (Hardware configuration or installation). I'll try to dig deeper on my own ;)
Don't hesitate to add me in contact if you wish so that we can stay informed
The ideal would be to list the problems and solutions in a section of the guide.
In addition and to try to unblock you: if you haven't already tried, I suggest you patch the game step by step, start by trying to make Eduke 32 work, without the other mods.
