1. The animation feels a little bit too choppy. I can let this go considering how all the animations are custom made.
2. Too much end lag on attacks. For a character meant to be from a platforming movement based game she should be a fast paced fighter. Atm it feels a little sluggish with the grabs and smash attacks.
3. The short hop is a little too short where I can't even land hits with it. Madeline is from a platforming game so she should have a better short jump. Though, these are just very small nitpicks and the character itself is amazing.
7/10 would recommend for any Celeste lover.
I know the animations seem a little bit awkward, but they were about the best I could do without making yet another very small fighter (like how Uni turned out). I might be able to get someone else to make new animations, though I will upload a potential redoing of her sprites separately. In the meantime, though... here's this.
PLAYSTYLE:
She's meant to be played as a rushdown combo character, with many tools for horizontal movement, but kind of lacking vertically and with not very many kill moves to balance that.
Very bad - 3/10
Very sharp and unpleasant animations. Pixels are too chaotic. God forbid any attacks, but not from Celeste. The only thing I can praise is the palette of the character. That's all.
But I hope that this character will improve in the future, and he will become the best version of herself!
