Game settings

In the screenshot above, you can see the recommended settings.
________________________________________________________________

  • Braking - You can leave the ABS on or off, as you prefer.
Do not leave brake assist on, as it will prevent drifting.

  • Steering - Initially, leave it as default (Normal). But once you start drifting confidently, I recommend setting it to Simulation; this will give you better control over the car. (The first few hours of driving with this setting might feel unusual.)

  • Traction and Stability control - These assists should be turned off, as they will not allow you to drift.

  • Shifting - Use only a manual transmission; it will let you maintain speed at a reasonable level.

  • Damage and Tire wear - Leave it on. This will protect your car from excessive damage and make it easier to drive.
Choosing a car
There are 2 types of tuning for drifting, the first is AWD, the second is RWD. AWD cars are very powerful, they are ideal for long drifts, but a beginner can quickly run off the road.
RWD cars are the base, relatively easy to control, but there is a much higher chance that the car can spin out.
In fact, all cars can drift in this game, you just need to choose the right tuning.
I'll show you some AWD and RWD drift cars that are easy enough for a beginner to drive.
  • RWD:
    1) Formula Drift #98 BMW 325i

    2) Formula Drift #777 Nissan 240SX

  • AWD:
    1) TOYOTA SUPRA RZ (tuning code: 180 966 829 )

    2) Formula Drift #777 Chevrolet Corvette (tuning code: 179 089 269 )

    _____________________________________________________________

REMEMBER If you don't have these cars, you can buy them at a car dealership or auction.
You can also choose your favorite car and find a ready-made tuning for it.
    _____________________________________________________________

In order to find a ready-made tuning you need: ESC -> CREATIVE HUB -> TUNES -> *choose a tuning* (as a rule, there is always a tuning called "drift" or something similar).

Basic rules | tips
Below is some basic information that will help you understand what to press and when to press when drifting. Once you understand it, you should try drifting yourself, and with time and experience, you will get better at it, believe me.
  • Accelerate - Everything is clear here; you use it to maintain the optimal speed.
  • Brake - press it when you need to slow down, for example, to avoid running off the road.
  • E-Brake - Your loyal friend, with which you can initiate sideways driving.
________________________________________________________________

Let’s break down how to drift. First, you need to reach an optimal speed so your car won’t fly off the road. Then, as you approach the turn, steer the car in the direction of the turn and press the handbrake (usually for about 1.5 seconds, but with experience, you’ll understand that there will be situations where you need to hold the handbrake longer). After that, gradually press the gas and turn in the opposite direction of the turn to keep the car in this position.

There’s also another way to start a drift - feint. You need to quickly steer in the opposite direction of the turn and then immediately turn back toward the turn. This will cause your car to partially lose grip on the road, allowing it to continue drifting.
________________________________________________________________

Common reasons for unsuccessful drifting:
  • Car losing traction and spinning out - to prevent this, you need to apply less gas during drifting.
  • Early exit from the drift - you need higher speed and longer use of the handbrake.
  • Car sliding off the road - don't hesitate to apply the brake when needed.
Conclusion
Please leave a comment to let me know if everything was clear to you. Did you manage to drift successfully?

If you found the tutorial helpful, please like it. If you have any feedback or didn't find it helpful, please let me know what could be improved.

Also, if you have any questions, feel free to ask them here or send me a personal message. I'll be happy to answer them.

Good luck on the roads of Mexico!

I’m sure there are cars with ready-made drift tunings for keyboard, you just need to try searching. Also, apart from choosing modifications (engine and other parts), there’s a separate Tuning tab where you can adjust the gearbox and other parameters for car

I always use a race ten-speed gearbox and the most powerful engine I'm honestly more of a dragracer than a drifter

yeah, that's the tricky thing about using a keyboard. I'd suggest using a mechanical gearbox, and if you need to slow down, just stop holding W. Also, try setting up the gearbox in a way that works best for you.
