Re-adds the Old Engine/Retail quickinfo back into the game via modifying of the hud_textures.txt file.


MAKE SURE TO READ THE INSTALLATION PROCESS CAREFULLY


INSTALLATION:

1. Open file explorer and navigate to "Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life 2\hl2\scripts" and back-up or delete "hud_textures.txt". (if you're backing the file up, make sure to back-it up to a memorable folder)

2. Download GCF-Scape onto your computer.

3. Locate the files for the mod at "steamapps\workshop\content\220\3372502235" (without quotes).

4. Using GCF-Scape, click "Open" and open the file "workshop_dir.vpk".

5. Right click the file "hud_textures.txt" and click Extract.

6. Extract the file to "Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life 2\hl2\scripts" (the extracted file should overwrite the original text file if it's present)

7. Launch the game and enjoy. :)

UNINSTALLATION:

1. Navigate to the directory that you moved the original/backed-up "hud_textures.txt" file to.

2. Navigate to "Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life 2\hl2\scripts" and replace the "hud_textures.txt" with the original/backed-up file.

3. The quick-info should now be default.
