First, you need:

Horse
Training Paddock

Then:

Instead of horsing around in the obstacles, do this:

Build a foundation and then stairs in front of the obstacle, keep running in circles with horse, if you see some '+' symbols on the lower right corner, it means it is working.

This method is around 10 times faster, and you only need to hold A or D key.

You can build structures like this on both sides of the obstacle and just walk back and forth on them to get the job done faster.
