OCP ASAP Test: New Game to "As Soon As Possible" Upgrade to OCP-209
由 NimrodX 制作
The accounting log and description of me trying to go from new game creation to OCP-209 as quickly as possible. Log ends when I bring back at least 1M E$ worth of ore in an OCP. Not exactly a walkthrough, but a test to see how practical it is.

Conclusion: This can work but isn't advised for extremely new players.

New Game Before Buying OCP

Hired some crew, brought back first load, replaced expensive crewmember, bought manipulator arm, dived again, brought back salvage and ore.

Stripped salvage, sold slalvage, upgraded ship, then decided to trade in for KX37 I think (so wasted my time upgrading K37 but no real loss).

Equipped new ship, got railgun, dived, bought some insurance credit, brought back salvage and ok ore load.

Stripped salvage, bought R-A MPU, hired cheap crew, launched for another dive.

Brought back a really good ore load with KX37, plain and simple. Traded in for OCP-209 "Grinning Storm". Outfitted OCP with cheaper stuff. This means it's painful to maneuver but I can mitigate that by just not bringing back a full load, and anything better than what a KX37 can carry will justify the OCP at this point.
After OCP-209 Procurement

Launched the OCP. Only brought back 339k of ore, but also one salvage ship. This is still doable with a KX37, but would probably be a more difficult than it was with even the underpowered OCP. I wasn't even trying that hard.

Bring back an ok haul of ore, but not that great. Also wasn't trying that hard.
Buy Vulture Prospector "Apparent Hobo". The main point is to place the claim beacon in a good spot. Strip some stuff off the vulture, upgrade the OCP a little.

Bring back a nice OCP load. Upgrade both ships some more.

Vulture finally has everything I want. Go out and place the beacon. Pay for a high depth, low accuracy insertion. That's why the expenses for the dive are higher than usual (at the top of screen).

Mine a bunch of W and Be in good spot with the vulture after placing beacon there. Hey why not. Also bring back salvage.

Opportunistically buy a Cothon-217 in the dealership and strip it.
Finally, dive with the OCP-209 and nav to the good spot with all the W. bring back a 1.2M E$ load.
As a huge bonus, I happened to find a Elon Intersteller Model E derelect! Bring that back and pay the repair bills to possibly start using it for something.
Conclusion
It doesn't seem to be too difficult for experienced players to use an "OCP ASAP" (As Soon As Possible) strategy, but trying to use an OCP build that costs only about 1.2M is a bit of a pain due to the sluggishness. With that kind of build, a lazy low-effort strategy is advised even if it might not bring back much more than a full-effort strategy with a KX37.

But the sluggish OCP will only be necessary for maybe one or two dives before you can just upgrade it to not be so painfully sluggish.

i still wouldn't advise this for totally new players though as it is likely to get more frustrating than necessary too early on.
