-Carian Retaliation has the most generous timing due to more active frames
-small shield Parry and medium shield Storm Wall is identical, otherwise medium shields have fewer active frames
-Golden Parry trades tighter timing for parrying at a distance
-Thops' Barrier is better as a spell (hold to keep the spell deflection active)
The reason for this was my confusion about two parameters called "TryToInvokeForceParryMode" and "AttackBehavior(Parry)" where they match in duration for every parrying Ash of War except Golden Parry, where "TryToInvokeForceParryMode" goes for double duration of "AttackBehavior(Parry)". I was thinking that "TryToInvokeForceParryMode" extends active parry window or provides additional time but after modifying those two parameters to be in different positions during parrying animation and then testing it in game, it's clear that only "AttackBehavior(Parry)" matters.
Golden parry has been corrected in the guide, all other Ashes of War are also showing correct data.
I apologize for confusion
Both Golden Parry and Carian Retaliation have same parrying frames but since Carian Retaliation uses FP only when parrying spells, it is regarded as better one.
If you don't mind spending FP for Golden Parry, or if you have Blessed Blue Dew Talisman equipped, which passively regenerates FP, then yes, Golden Parry would also be the top choice.
If you are not confident in your parrying skills and want to practice it, I would recommend using Golden Parry so you would be able to keep some distance from an enemy as to not get hit in case of missing the parry window.
