The key to defending the airfield is using the F-4s with anti-tank load out. The airbase has 20 of them. Initially sent 4 F-4s out, disbanded the formations and individually directed each F-4 in runs against the T-72s. Saw how many there were and scrambled another 4 F-4s, only ended up using 2 of them. That forest became a T-72 graveyard.
When I saw how many ships in multiple segments, the scenario is a classic pincer with the task force and airbase. The airbase B-52s, 20 P-3 and the F-4 can all carry AGMs. Jam the ships and hit them from multiple sides.
