Quick Intro
Hey hey, I'm Tiffany! I'm writing this little guide as kind of a help for new people, but I wanted to note I'm not writing this as a seasoned veteran of the game, rather someone who recently got really into the game and wants to share her discoveries with anyone who could use some help. I hope I can help someone! <3
The Fundamentals of Points and Medals
This guide heavily focuses on points but...what are points? What's a good score? Well, to put it in basic terms, points only matter at specific values. If you accumulate more than 600 points, you'll get the bronze medal, more than 800, a silver medal. More than 1000, a gold medal. These medals are separate, so getting gold will reward you with 3 medals. These medals are mostly for bragging rights, with getting all of them being an achievement, however at 5, 10, 15, and 20 you'll unlock new characters.
Put simply: Run!
I know this sounds obvious, but there's more to it. The points you gain from checkpoints seem to be tied to a mix of two things: How fast you reached the checkpoint and the speed you're going at. So while you should always be running, you may want to build speed before reaching your first checkpoint, since often you gain more points from speed then you'll lose from time assuming optimal play and leaving once your bar is maximised (Or just higher than it otherwise would be, experiment with what gives the best point values!) Gaining speed is easy, moving in any way can fill the bar, whether that be running back and forth, swinging on a vine, bouncing around a long drop, if it fills the bar you'll get those points (Maybe, it doesn't work as well for all stages since some first checkpoints just naturally give little amounts of points.)
Enemies!
Just to be clear, this is not a full enemy guide, just tips for enemies I struggled with, I can expand the guide if needed.

Ninjas
Look at their sword, it's random whether it'll be up or down, if up, dash into them, if down, jump over them.

Dragons
This enemy is why I made the section in the first place. Whether or not the enemy is facing you is what matters here. If it isn't, you can safely dash into it. If it is, jumping into it will kill it similar to killing a ninja with their sword down.

Bosses
This sounds kind of funny but you can entirely ignore them to my knowledge, they don't damage you, just break blocks (But since they follow you, only ones behind you in most circumstances.) They're exciting visual flair, but can't cost you points!
Bonus points!
Put simply, try to take balloon paths if you can, especially if the balloon is yellow, as those net the most points! Enemies really aren't really worth risking your run bar for, unless they happen to be in the spot needed to easily fill your bar before checkpoint #1 or otherwise on your path (and only if you're playing as a character with dash or Stumblor, if you aren't dashing the only way to kill them is jumping on them, which unless you're playing perfect just isn't feasible without slowing down and is even impossible for many enemies.) All this being said, really you shouldn't focus on these too much outside of the occasional golden, a majority of your points will be from crossing checkpoints.
Characters!
This is gonna sound kind of boring, but in my time playing, RunMan is always your safest bet for points. He's the fastest in the world, and the point system rewards that. That being said, sometimes Sherman will be better. I'll get into both to be safe, maybe I'll add sections for the other characters if anyone can point out a niche or I try them out more, but I'm not holding my breath.

RUNMAN
As stated before, your safest bet, always fairly easy to get points with him due to his speed, dash, and his unique dive ability. A lot of the optimal paths were designed with the dive in mind, so often without it you'll just careen into an enemy, lava trap, or pit. Do not forget about the dive, it's very important if you want gold, it can be used for anything from dodging to dropping into point balloons. For max points you should always be dashing if you can.

SHERMAN
Sherman is faster than RunMan. Technically he's not but killing enemies gives him a boost, and every level has enemies in spades, so effectively he's faster. Just like RunMan he has a dash, so why do I think he's worse? Simple, no dive. Sherman is a lot harder to precisely maneuver due to his inability to do this, with no real aerial control while dashing. That being said, if a level's path doesn't cause this issue, you can get crazy scores by keeping that boost up. I've seen it get up to 1500, but I'd be interested to see if you can get higher. Sherman is the high-risk/high-reward character. All this being said, you need 20 medals to even unlock him, so you'll need to get at least decent with RunMan if you want to unlock him early.
Achievement Help!
This section will be brief, as most achievements are self-explanatory, but I'd like to note a few things:

Achievement unlocks seem to be based on session, for instance if you get hit by the ninja, that achievement won't work until you reset the game.

Many achievements are only unlockable in a specific level even if not stated, for instance "Torch" is only unlocked in Temple of Looove, other levels with torches will not fit the requirements. In my experience it is usually the first level featuring the obstacle.

"Ninja" was a broken achievement at launch, this was recently patched so if you try it now it'll activate (Assuming the notes above are heeded.)
Thanks for Listening!
This guide is sort of a beta, I'm learning more about the game myself and wanted to share things I learned in my time. If you have any suggestions for things I should add, feel free to leave a comment and let me know!
