CIVILIZATIONS
  • Ogre Kingdoms: Large, stupid and extremely hungry, the primitive ogres and their gnoblar pets want nothing more than to eat everything in the world.
  • Elves: The high elves work with metal and wood. Their unique Ithilmar metal gives them strong and light weapons and armor. Dark elves, on the other hand, live in Dark Pits and will be hostile to all others. Wood Elves have new bows with various magical ammunition and will use metal arms and armor.
  • Orcs: Brutish and violent, the orcs love nothing more than a good scrap. Stronger than the average dwarf and more than twice as large, they are a significant threat to any potential mountainhome. They have unique beasts that work for them, called Squigs. Ranging massively in size, they're used as war beasts and mounts. Goblins also use Squigs.
  • Tree Spirits: Agile dryads and hulking treemen seek to defend nature by any means necessary. They do not chop trees or farm plants, instead using their natural magic to grow magical wooden arms and armor, as well as magically grow plants and harvest their seeds. Unlike other creatures, they don't need food to survive, but they do need water.
  • Humans: Humans have invented a few new things to help them defend against their encroaching neighbors. Steel production, firearms, magic and a unique creature, the Steam Tank, help keep their realms secure from invaders.
  • Skaven: Skulking and evil, the mutated ratmen called skaven seek to steal and pillage all they can from the world. They have a unique rat ogre war beast, and several unique weapons.
  • Beastmen: Chaos influenced goat-like humanoids, the Beastmen hate civilization and seek to destroy it. They are larger than Humans and have tamed Minotaurs.
  • Chaos Dwarves: Some Dwarves have turned to the dark powers and will attack their former brethren. The match of their lawful counterparts in every way, but also have evil creatures on their side.
  • Warriors of Chaos: The myriad horrors of chaos band together into dark warbands and seek the destruction of mortal realms! With their Daemonic allies and powerful champions, they are a force to be reckoned with.

SECRETS
There are 9 new secrets, each with multiple spells tied to them. Anyone may learn them except Dwarves. Humans and Elves can research these secrets at a craftsdwarf's workshop, giving a small chance to create a book containing them. Elves can learn multiple lores of Magic, others are restricted to one.

  • Lore of Life: Healing, tree spirit summoning
  • Lore of Death: Life steal, death by laughter
  • Lore of Shadow: Attack your opponent's minds
  • Lore of Light: Banish Daemons, shoot fire from your eyes
  • Lore of Metal: Turn your foes to gold, spray molten silver
  • Lore of Beasts: Transform into monsters, and conjure giant birds
  • Lore of the Heavens: Glimpse the future, shoot lightning
  • Lore of High Magic: A unique lore exclusive to High Elves.

Lore of Vampires: An alternative form of vampirism that grants access to powerful magic
Daemon Princehood: If you are (un)lucky enough to be chosen by a god of Chaos, you will be transformed into a Daemon Prince, an incredibly powerful creature that is hostile to all mortals

ITEMS
Guns:Handguns, long rifles, pistols and cannons can all be made at a metalsmith's forge, though cannons are too large to wield and can only be used as siege engines. Their ammunition is manufactured from a combination of a bullet made of metal, paper, and gunpowder at a craftsdwarf's workshop. Gunpowder can be made at a millstone or quern using saltpeter, brimstone and charcoal. This can then be combined with powderless bullets made at a forge to create cartridges. For even more power, grenade launchers cause an explosion upon contact with a target, engulfing a large area in fire.

Thrown Weapons: Throwing axes and javelins are just as effective at range as they are in melee. To use them, produce one throwing axe or javelin, and then provide thrown axes and thrown javelins as ammunition.

Ithilmar: A metal as strong as steel but as light as air, High Elves can forge many wonderous items using it.

Gromril: An extremely heavy and durable metal, exclusive to dwarves. Outside of a forge, it's immune to even the scalding heat of dragonfire! Do note that the dwarf inside the armor may not be immune to fire, though. Found rarely underground, gromril is extremely valuable and can be used to make...

RUNES
Runes are the dwarven answer to the lores of magic. Blank runes are made at a metalsmith's forge out of Gromril or Adamantine and then imbued with power. Runes enhance the item they're inscribed upon.

Current Runes:
  • Rune of Smiting: Inflicts extreme pain and bleeding upon the target
  • Rune of Banishment: Has a chance to banish any Daemon hit by it
  • Rune of Strength: Doubles the strength of the wearer
  • Rune of Flame: Ignites targets
  • Rune of Speed: Increases the wearer's speed
  • Rune of Fortitude: Reduces damage taken by the wearer.

OTHER CREATURES
Daemons of Chaos roam the world, seeking mortals to kill and corrupt. Many types exist, all are dangerous, and all want to destroy your fortress. There are also mortal followers of Chaos in the form of marauding Warriors and malevolent Champions. Many Chaos worshippers are capable of summoning Daemons, so beware!

Dragons in this world are intelligent flying beasts who live thousands of years and grow to immense sizes, though their growth is very slow. These creatures are tamable if you are lucky enough to catch one without it burning down your fortress. There are many varieties, all ranging in temperment and strength.

Trolls of many varieties populate the land, and come with powerful regeneration. Beware these powerful beasts in sieges!

Mechanical Creatures are available to Humans and Dwarves. To create one, place a nest box one tile to the north of a metalsmith's forge and assign the appropriate job. This will consume a lot of steel, copper and mechanisms but will produce a new war machine for your fort.

KNOWN ISSUES
  • You can make cartidges at a metalsmith's forge without gunpowder. Doing so WILL break the balance of the game. Please use the custom reactions if you don't want to steamroll everything.
  • Will crash upon entering arena mode with the DFHack .init file enabled.
  • Artifacts and book bindings can be made from Gunpowder.
  • Steam tanks can cause crashes when pastured.
  • Compatibility Spreadsheet[docs.google.com]
Please report any bugs you encounter and I will do my best to fix them!

CREDITS
L'Homme Crabe for Mountain Orcs which I used as a base for the orcs
TwinCrows for Orc playability
FantasticFwoosh for general assitance

This is my first mod I've ever made, I really hope you enjoy it. It is playable, though some graphics are missing.

I recommend using this alongside the excellent mod Topples' Lizardmen.

Warhammer, Warhammer Fantasy, the Warhammer logo, and all associated items belong to Games Workshop. I do not claim ownership over any of their content.

Oh my!
I think you should quit your job and abandon your family, a mere distraction that prevents you on focusing solely on working on this beauty of a mod.

The best fantasy universe in the most powerful sandbox engine.
Keep on going man.

It's not the most subscribed, it's the most popular of all time.
Hemagene 10 月 18 日 上午 3:19
you would think that a tecnical or api mod would be the most subscribed mod on the steam workshop but no it is this mod

Excellent! That's exactly the sort of thing I want to see. Perhaps not 40 of them, but it's great to hear that that's working.
romonoid 10 月 17 日 上午 3:56
also with them being parts of cultures, sieges become much more horryfying, had a siege with 40 chaos dragons when attacked by chaos humans

Yes, it should still work with Topples Lizardmen.
Dragons now come in a variety of flavors, from Star to Chaos to Black to Forest. They've all got different sizes and breath attacks, and chaos dragons have two heads.

ok so coming back after a while and oh my gosh you actually added the skaven. thank you so much man i love the insane rats cant wait to see what you did with them. does this still work with the lizard man mod? sorry last question what changes to dragons did you make?
Duzzit 10 月 16 日 下午 2:31
That's fair enough, though if you do ever make it a submod, I'd still like to try it :).

The runesmithing is balanced around the other aspects of the mod (which is to say, probably way too strong for vanilla), so I'm not sure how well it'd work without the context of the rest of the mod. In particular, the rune of flame is quite absurd against most creatures.
Duzzit 10 月 15 日 上午 7:34
Oh no rush/worries at all :). Very cool to hear that it's possible/you can make it happen. I love WHF as a whole setting but I'm quite curious in just seeing Runesmithing itself added in to DF without the rest.
