The long method of figuring out the True Ending requires you to track down a bunch of little things in the game, including finding a QR code. It's pretty involved, but if you want to hunt for it yourself rather than having the answer bluntly given to you, check out that thread to get some basic hints.

Read on if you just want the direct solution.

This entire method will take about five minutes.

Step 1: Don't start the game, and instead set your computer's date to April 15, 2030. The time doesn't matter, though I guess if you're playing close to midnight, you may want to set the time back an hour.

Step 2: Start the game. You'll know if you did it right because the title screen will have a "Redeem" button instead of the usual "Continue," as shown below.


On the title screen, don't click any of the logos below the Exit Game button. This makes the game minimize itself and, at least in my case, it opened a browser and caused an error due to the incorrect date. Then the game crashed. Probably best to just pop the achievement and get out.

Step 3: Click the "Redeem" button. You'll be teleported to Guo's post-apocalyptic mind-palace or whatever in front of a monitor. If you played the main story, you probably remember what's going on here. Interact with it with the E key.

Step 4: Log in to the chat conversation, then click the button to refuse Abel's request. Then tap the Escape key a couple times (or click the red button in the bottom-left corner) until you exit the monitor.

Step 5: Turn around and head through the door. You'll respawn in Guo's bedroom.

Step 6: Some of the little details have changed around the apartment, but the only thing you need to do at this point is leave the entire apartment. The curfew is not in force. Once you're in the hallway, walk forward to the elevator and press E to leave.

This should pop the achievement, though there's a short cutscene afterward. After a minute, you'll be kicked back to the altered title screen. Then you can exit and reset the date on your computer.

I'm curious if anyone is going to buy this game on that date and be very confused when they start it up that day, but you're one achievement richer regardless.
