Deadly Units

描述
Deadly Units expands the battlefield with new, powerful, and versatile units. As the name implies, these are elite forces—fast, deadly, and impactful. The mod also introduces new abilities, buildings, and emplacements. Existing units remain mostly untouched, with some balance adjustments to keep them competitive in some cases. The goal is to expand upon the vanilla experience, not replace it—delivering more variety and excitement to every match.

What brings this mod to the table:
💠 New custom units with their own unique portraits and icons, abilities and strengths.
💠 New custom buildings, towers, walls, gates, defensive emplacements like (flame) cannons or turrets.
💠 Generals (basically boss units) for each faction, each with his own unique abilities etc. They also serve to gain access to new buildings that open up to more powerful late game units.
💠 Limitations to mortar type units. I don't like mortar wars and especially AI loves to spam those units. I don't delete these units but I aim to limiting them.
Obice and the M2A1 howitzer are the biggest problem and can no longer fire in fog of war. However I made it possible to build them in your HQ which was not possible in the vanilla game. This should hold back players for not blowing up the enemy base without any effort. You can still do it by having view on it of course.
💠Unused units added. Not my focus. I focus on new custom units. But if i find new ones that I feel adds to the mod I will add them.
💠 A integrated zoom mod.
💠 AI support. AI enemies will use the modded units for the most part.
💠 The Battlefield Espionage battle-group i feel needed a big boost, no one plays it. It now has a very powerful starter skill unit. Giving it a good advantage in early game.
💠 Delete unwanted emplacements like bunkers from the field.
💠 Edited abilities like the kamikaze airstrike or Incursion Strike which is a more powerful version of Infantry Assault.
💠 Forward barracks in ambient buildings like in COH1.
💠Compatible with mods like Annihilation+ and Advanced AI. Be sure that "Use Custom Economy AI" is Disabled in AAI if you want the AI to use this mods units.

💠 My Deadly Snipers mod will be integrated into this mod: click here. Deadly Snipers recreates snipers into well... actual snipers. They have around twice the sight and firing range they normally do. Making them actually useful in the field. Higher cost to compensate. AK and UK will both have their own version of the sniper as well to counter other factions snipers.

Be aware that the screenshots show a lot of outdated units. I always add new screenshots when adding new things but I always keep tweaking units as well in all sorts of ways. View it more like a general idea of how the mod is.

The focus of this mod is to bring powerful units to all factions so you can have those units to push trough tough enemy lines. The longer a fight continues the more powerful units you will get. Some units are easily powerful enough to break any stalemate. Not like most games that you are stuck and it results yet again in another nuke war or having your allies nuke the enemy base which totally ruins the fun. Limiting mortar type units will limit these nuke wars a bit while not removing them from the game. Though I try to even the fields on all factions, expect some end game units that are really powerful which are fun for PVE but probably not for PVP. Therefore this is a PVE focused mod.

Currently the mod is in a mostly completed state. My focus now is fine-tuning and keeping the mod up to date cause new patches can break unknown things unfortunately. New stuff will be added so now and then when I feel like it.

First content update for the Endure & Defy DLC:

UK:

New defensive emplacement: Jetstream SAM.
A SAM site emplacement that will destroy pretty much everything but is most effective against armor. It will shoot 2 rocket salvos before it reloads again. Low HP so keep it in the back of your defense cause it has good range as well.

Bollocks Plunger: its armor piercing is nerfed but its damaged is buffed slightly, its precision is also buffed slightly.

Firefly Medium Tank V2: Not to be mistaken with the other Fiirefly. You get this tank in the Platoon Command post together with the normal Firefly. So thats 2 tanks instead of one. This tank is a bit more allround and has a mg on top with some other abilities. It looks like the same tank but without the cammo.

PIATriots: increased manpowe to 350 and limited to 4 max on the battlefield. This because this unit is extremely powerful, they wreck tanks like they are toys. You still can but not with a massive army anymore.
Gillie Tank: cost reduced to 30 fuel and 290 MP.

USA:

AMR Sniper: Max 2 now on the battlefield. AMR snipers and tunnels is crazy OP so I limited them to 2 now to make them more a supports unit rather then charging with with a army of these guys trough the tunnels.


Whermacht:

New upgrade for the general: Experimental Greenlight. Needed to unlock the new unit in the Infanterie Kompanie building.

New unit: Blauhaut-Experimentalsoldat
A expiremental unit that shoot green lasers? Pretty powerful overall on its damage output though its healthpool is not extremely high. They come as a 4 man squad and require the upgrade mentioned above.

Kummerspeck Panzer : Slightly increased speed
Now also falls under the Experimental Greenlight upgrade it being a experimental unit.

Borgward: This unit is a joke in this mod so I gave him bug buffs. He now has increased range and auto fires its rockets. Functions a lot like the Jetstream SAM so its shoots 2 times before a short reload, but is not that powerful and it does not have its reach. Its manual targeting skill is still functional but probably not much of use in most situations.

Read mod description. They are not invincible though but yes they will dominate Infantry fights but not much more, they have a lot of health but no armor. Snipers have a very long range in this mod, they should not even be in his range if you place them well but yes close up they will lose. Each faction can call upon only one general though but yes you could see 3 running around with 3 Whermacht opponents.

tf is with the invincible german general that one shots snipers in buildings with a pistol and doesnt even take damage from bombing runs... just three of them dominating the map like terminators taking out vehicles etc with a pistol.

Thats pretty close to mine. I have played the mod with a bunch of other people including friends. No issues. I play mostly with 8 players (4 AI) 250 popcap, let the AI push pretty hard with Annihilation+ and it runs fine. Certain maps can also impact performance, especially the very big ones (try official maps). Maybe update drivers, otherwise I dont know what it could be.

Might want to upgrade your PC. Running on a RTX 3090, Core I7 13700K with 64gb RAM myself which is already pretty dated in 2025 and im having 0 lag.
