About This Mod
This is a helper UI that breaks down what specs are in your barracks versus what is available. As well as helping remember what kind of primary/secondary weapons you can use. It shows in two primary places: The GTS when training a Rookie and in the soldier promotion screen when using Choose My Class.

GTS Rework
This mod also has built into it a GTS Rework to resolve the GTS crashes due to having a significant number of Amalgamation classes. The GTS will now purge the existing list and then rebuild it using Choose My Class logic one random class per Primary Spec available.

As a bonus feature, the list of classes shown can optionally be further reduced to show a limited randomized pack of classes per soldier (similar to Xylth's GTS) but the focused list is still drawn from the one per primary list generated above.

NOTE: When using large numbers of classes, it will cause the entire GTS to freeze, but should eventually load in. It can take upwards of 30 seconds for Amal lists with 1200+ classes to use the GTS. It can take upwards of 10 - 15+ minutes for Amal lists with 13000+ classes to use the GTS.

Thanks
  • h4ilst0rm and TePª for the Amalgamation pack.
  • AstralDescend, RustyDios, shiremct, and anyone else I referenced or copy/pasted code from to figure out this whole UI nonsense.
  • XpanD for his console commands which helped make things easier.
  • xylthixlm and Canidaeus for Xylth's GTS & WOTC port for a starting point on my own GTS solution.
  • One more big shout-out to shiremct for the soldier class picking logic from Choose My Class.

Thanks. My bad for not getting back sooner, I found out the issue was a conflict in mod that was making it act dumb. Works now, ty for responding!

It is based upon the total number of Amalgamation combinations between your primary, secondary, and tertiary specs.

If the game has not crashed it should eventually load in, theoretically.

Also, to be fair, the numbers were based upon my system spec and at the time every spec pack led to about 13k combinations, but I do know there have been more specs released, so if the timing is geometric in growth and you have 20k+ combinations (you can verify using XpanD's command line tools) it could easily take 30 minutes to load the screen.

I ask mainly because I have around 200 ish classes but I am loading the recruit promotion for over 20 mins so far and no luck.

I am curious, when you say 1200+ classes for 30 seconds and 13000+ classes 10-15 minutes, does that mean combinations, or individual class quantity?

@FearTheBunnies Thank you so much, unloading and loading the mod again did it, everything is working fine now, must have just not registered the update when I tried earlier.

@AgentGadget Sometimes Steam lies about the updates. The best way I have found to make sure it has updated is to Unsubscribe and make sure it removes this mod and then Subscribe to this mod again and have it d/l a fresh copy. If you re-sub to the mods and it is still not working, I am a member of the X2 Modding Discord and you can ping me there and I can work with you to get your AML profile and save file so I can dig deeper.

@FearTheBunnies I'm still getting the list of random Amalgamation classes, and I've checked that there are no other mod changes, both that I did and updates to other mods, will try later when I have time again, seeing if removing and re-adding all three does anything. Thank you for looking into it.

Genuinely one of the most useful mods for someone like me who runs ALL the Amalgamation classes, thank you for this.

@FearTheBunnies the fix for Soldier Conditioning seems to be working now. Thanks! :)

@AgentGadget I just pushed up a fix. Pull the latest version of this mod and let me know if it is still breaking or not.
