My take on the Sturmtiger rocket mortar infantry support tank, official German designation Sturmmörserwagen 606/4 mit 38 cm RW 61 (RW = Raketenwerfer/rocket launcher).

Despite its massive size I had to scale it up about 10% because of the available wheels and the tolerances needed to be able to move the gun as it should.

The real thing had 8 staggered idler wheels but since the game can't handle that (the track will just twist wierdly) I'm just using the 4 outer ones that were most visible.

Info from Wikipedia, somewhat edited.

************

Sturmtiger (German for 'Assault Tiger') was a World War II German assault gun built on the Tiger I chassis and armed with a 380 mm rocket-propelled mortar. Its primary task was to provide heavy fire support for infantry units fighting in urban areas. The few vehicles produced fought in the Warsaw Uprising, the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle of the Reichswald. The fighting vehicle was known by various informal names, among which the Sturmtiger became the most popular.

Only 18 were ever built using rebuilt damaged Tiger I chassis.

The Sturmtiger was based on the late model Tiger I, keeping its hull and suspension. The front of the Tiger's superstructure was removed to make room for the new fixed casemate-style fighting compartment housing the rocket launcher. This was located directly at the front of the vehicle.

Since the Sturmtiger was intended for use in urban areas in close range street fighting, it needed to be heavily armoured to survive. Its sloped (at 47° from vertical) frontal armor therefore was 150 mm (5.9 in) thick, while its superstructure side and rear plates were 82 mm (3.2 in) thick. The hull front was 100 millimetres (3.9 in) or 150 millimetres (5.9 in) if it had an additional armor plate fitted. *

The main armament was the 380 mm Raketen-Werfer 61 L/5.4, a breech-loading barrel, which fired a short-range, rocket-propelled projectile roughly 1.5 m (4 ft 11 in) long.

Due to the bulkiness of the ammunition, only fourteen rounds could be carried internally, of which one was already loaded, with another in the loading tray. The rest were carried in two storage racks. To help with the loading of ammunition into the vehicle, a loading crane was fitted at the rear of the superstructure next to the loading hatch. Even then, the entire five-man crew had to help with the loading.

Reloading the gun after firing took the effort all four men in the rear and could take up to ten minutes.

************

* I added 8 layers of steel in the front to emulate the heavy armour of the vehicle. This means that my Pak 40 75 mm anti-tank gun (4 stacked AP guns) usually can't penetrate the front while my Pak 43/41 88 mm anti-tank gun (8 stacked AP guns) CAN penetrate which seems reasonable IMO.

The rocket mortar had a minimum elevation of 0 degrees and a maximum elevation of 85 degrees, but I have had to limit it to 70 degrees due to limitations in the game and possibly my skill.
It had a traverse of -10 to +10 degrees which works, but a low elevations some pieces of the chassis that don't actually touch the gun still interferes a little.
The maximum range was up to 6,000 meters but I have limited it to 2,100 meters at 45 degree elevation in-game.

The Sturmtiger had a crew of five: driver, machine gunner/radio operator, loader, 2nd loader and commander/gunner. This version however is operated from the driver's seat.

Operation

Driver's seat
WASD: Drive.
Left/Right arrows / Yaw: Operate top periscope.
Alt + Left/Right arrows / Yaw: Traverse main gun. **
Alt + Up/Down arrows / Pitch: Elevation of main gun. **
Fire action 1 / Num 1: Fire rocket. ***
Fire action 2 / Num 2: Fire machine gun. ****
L / Headlights: Headlight.
X / Disable steering: Lower/raise radio antenna.

Camera 1: Driver's periscope. (Exclusive to driver's seat)

Machine gunner's seat
Fire action 1 / Num 1: Fire machine gun. ****

Camera 2: Horisontal sight.
Camera 3: Top periscope.
Camera 4: Machine gun sight.
Camera 5: Rocket POV.

All hatches are opened with buttons on them.
Tools can be removed by activating the detonators.
Winch operated by activating the actuators on it.

** The main gun is aimed horisontally with the sight in Camera 2 and vertically the elevation gauge next to the driver.
*** Since there is no way to reload a weapon like this in the game the whole Sturmtiger dasly needs to be respawned.
**** There was no way I could make this machine gun movable without leaving huge gaps in the armour and/or a lot of clipping so I decided to make it static. It is aimed down slightly so shoud be able to hit Bobs on the ground.
