I feel so embarrassed... I found out there was a setting for exactly what I was looking for in the settings of Medieval overhaul.

I was kind of hoping to find a mod that just replaces the chemfuel item itself with tar, hah; I was wanting to milk my boomalopes to fuel my lamps. I misread that this changes the recipes that require chemfuel to take tar, oops, hah.

Does anyone know of a mod like the one I'm wanting? I'm just having a hard time figuring out how I'll reliably produce tar. (New to the medieval overhaul, have only been able to get tar from pits, don't know if there's other methods.)

@Keshash Sorry, I think you might have misunderstood what this mod does. This doesn't re-texture chemfuel, it modifies crafting recipes that uses chemfuel (making mortar shells for example) so that it uses another resource called tar (from Medieval Overhaul) instead. It's mainly for people playing medieval tech runs, but still need chemfuel for whatever reason. In my case, I needed the chemfuel to make cannonballs. Hope this clears things up for you!

btw, Dubs Bad Hygiene had some mechanism to dynamically swap resource textures depending on colony technology, might want to check that out
