First, install the X-Cell mod[www.nexusmods.com] from Nexus.

Don't worry about the requirements, the mod works just fine without the unofficial patch and Community Fixes Merged.

Second, go to "\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\F4SE\plugins\Buffout4" or whatever path you have (as long as Buffout4 is there) and make sure that the settings in config.toml look like this:


Third, open the x-cell.ini in "Data\F4SE\plugins" and set "facegen=true" to "facegen=false"

For the second fix, you also need High FPS Fix[www.nexusmods.com] mod.

According to the second thread linked and also the mod bug reports and comments, Long Load Times Fix[www.nexusmods.com] has a major memory leak issue that causes your game to degrade overtime visually causing eventually a hard crash that breaks your whole save file.

The load time improvements are incorporated with High FPS fix mod anyway and apparently work even better, so you only need it (provided you also have the game installed on an SSD.)

If you didn't even have Long Load Times Fix installed, open config.toml again from "plugins\Buffout4" and set MemoryManager to "false".

Then open HighFPSPhysicsFix.ini in "Data\F4SE\plugins" and make sure the settings listed here have the same values (don't copy and paste in case of misspellings, just make sure it's true or false or a numerical value):

NumOfThreadsWhileLoadingNewGame=1 (looks strange but keep it at 1)

FramerateLimitMode=0 (u can try 1 to get lower latency but I use 0 for better consistency of frames)

Keep everything else the same.

The loading screen appears frozen now, but that's normal since you changed it to so. I'm not sure if changing the loading screen animations really have any effect on load times though unless you are playing on a 2011 toaster.

Lastly, as quoted in the thread about the Long Load Times Fix mod:

"Long load fix will slowly destroy the textures of the game leading to a eventually hard crash that cannot be reversed without a full reinstall. Played for 34 hours so far and that happened around the 26 hour range."

I personally have noticed low res textures and low poly objects for really no reason which I'm certain is because of the issue as I had the mod installed for over 24h of playtime. My save isn't broken per say, but it most likely was going to get destroyed if I kept using the mod.

Also, as noted in the thread as well, makes sure vsync is turned off.
