If you have four devices that you can use simultaneously connected, please feel free to skip this section. Else you will need to edit the game's files so that one device can control four characters.

You will only need to lead one character to the finish line.

Now that you know how to set this up, it's ready to move on.

Once you enter the main menu for the first time with all devices plugged in or connected, you will notice that one of the player icons (located at the bottom of the screen) is a solid colour, with the others blinking. This means they are listening and you can connect.

Press the indicated key to join on your other 3 devices, or on the singular device you are ready to play with.

You'll know if you have done this correctly if all 4 player icons are solid colours instead of blinking / flashing

For now, disconnect the other 3 controllers using the same button you used to join, and go to career -> World Tour and select the first area (Sunshine Coast). The map you are looking for is the Drift Challenge in Shibuya Downtown, located on the map after the first gate in this area.

I have chosen this map because it is relatively fast to complete and generally easier.

Select hard difficulty if you feel confident with drifting, since expert might be strenuous playing for a long period of time. Else, select whatever difficulty you feel comfortable with.

Warning: EXP given may vary based off difficulty.

Now that you've selected a suitable difficulty for your skill level / comfort, you will be required to select 4 different characters to level up. Begin by selecting your first character, but don't select a mod. Even though mods don't necessarily matter, you are welcome to pick whichever one you want.

Now that you've selected your character, you can allow your 3 other devices to join. Pick your characters and select their mods. You should be sent into the game once all mods are selected.


Now that you've setup all your characters and you are ready to play, You should understand how we are going to effectively gain EXP using this same map.

You ONLY need 1 player to reach the end and although the other 3 will get reduced EXP, it is really difficult to get all players to the end on singleplayer, so focus up on ensuring that a single character takes the victory.

Each character will get over 1000 EXP for each round completed, with the player that crosses the finish line gaining 2000 EXP. EXP is gained by participation, with a "sticking together" bonus at the end of the game for groups of players.

At long last, we will start the round.

If you are unfamiliar with drift challenges, you will need to drift inside of the red area in-between zones, marked with a half-circle on the track to counteract your decreasing time. By the end of the round, you will need to still have enough time to reach the end of the lap.

It could be seen as somewhat difficult when starting the game for the first time but it gets easier as you become more accustomed to the game.

After finishing a round with at least 1 player crossing the finish line, you will receive your EXP and then will be asked if you would like to replay or continue. In the instance that a character has reached rank 6 (All-Star Rank), you will want to swap it out for another character to keep the EXP farm going, else click retry and you'll be sent back to the start of the race.

Rinse and Repeat.
