This mod makes forts and the new camp outpost persist for their owner, even if the region is taken.

Why I made this Mod?
I kinda hated that in the launch version of the game, if you took a settlement, you essentially deleted the armed forces that were stationed in forts.This was made more problematic with the "siege a fort with 1 general" cheese.

When I saw the functionality in High Tide around outposts being able to remain present in a region, I wanted to take that feature and apply it to forts (and the new camp outpost) for regular factions.

What is the impact of this change?
  • You can no longer delete fort garrisons by taking out a settlement.
  • The 1 general cheese still kinda works, but the fort garrison will still remain.
  • If you don't clear up a fort, if that fort owner attacks the settlement the fort will reinforce the attack.
  • Similarly, the new camp building will reinforce their owners armies in any battle within that region.
Can I do this for the other outposts?
Unfortunately, there seems to be some odd AI behaviours. Looks like they may ignore your outposts if they are not in your own regions. As such, doing this for non-garrison structures may end up just breaking outposts for the AI.

Bugs:
Relate to the AI issue above. It is highly recommend that if you raze an outpost/ see an empty outpost site on another factions region - you do not send your army to claim it. You will be given ownership of an outpost location you cannot build on and the AI will not realise is present. If the territory is conquered, that should resolve it. - Not sure if this is still the case in Dynasties, let me know!

There's some issues with victory conditions with this mod

Just wanted to report I got a reproduce-able crash when conquering an enemy's last settlement with a fort in Kuwaliya. To avoid the crash, I temporarily disabled the mod and took the settlement.

The script log right before the crash is:

(I tried with capturing, looting, and razing with the mod enabled and still got the crash)

Hey, just wanted to leave a quick report of a CTD that happens when confederating a faction with this mod enabled in Dynasties. I have been able to get it consistenly with Ramesses and Agamemnon mid-game.

I notice that the forts were very poorly integrated into this game from a CAI point of view.

I was investigating a way to destroy the fort, but the problem I encountered is that you can't change ownership of the slot. It's a limitation of the game as far as I can tell.

Is there anyway to remove neutral faction's fort in my region? i occupied enemy region but there had been a neutral faction's fort and it remains after my occupation

Would i be possible to make the army in a fort in a enemy Region losing Units over Time due to consuption

I have pushed out an update, so that if you trade a region that has a fort, your fort will be destroyed and the army within will spawn at the settlement of that region.

When selling or exchanging a region, the fort stays with the previous owner.
Is this a known limitation, or is it a bug?
