Introduction
Hello Kingdom Rush fans!

In this guide, I will be aiming to give you an accurate summary of all the heroes in Kingdom Rush Alliance; which ones are the best, which ones to use, and which ones have the best synergies with each other.
I will be ranking each hero with five criterion: Survivability, Damage, Abilities, Synergies, and Speed. Each hero will receive points out of five for each of these factors, and a total score to gauge their overall usefulness.
Please note that this guide is my subjective opinion. Feel free to disagree with me in the comments section if you wish, or just spout random obscenities.
Thank you, and please enjoy!
Vesper
Vesper is the first hero you will unlock, a leader of the Linerian resistance who wields a bow and sword. Bombarding enemies from afar and being able to rush in and support your melee troops, Vesper is a very capable hero who is well-suited to the early game.

Survivability: While Vesper can do a lot of things, staying alive for a long time is not one of them. Vesper has a health pool which, while considerable, is still on the lower side for heroes. Along with his health, his low armor does not give him many points, although it will help him stay alive. Against any strong enemies such as Bear Vanguards or hoards of smaller, armored enemies, Vesper will surely fall quickly. 3/5 for Survivability.

Damage: Vesper's damage is one of his better factors. While, as is the case with most ranged KR heroes, his melee damage is low, Vesper's ranged damage remains one of his strongest attributes. His bow can easily kill most low level enemies with a few hits, and it fires quickly, allowing him to make quick work of most enemies in the early game. Vesper earns a 3/5 in Damage for his quick bow-work.

Abilities: Along with Damage, Vesper also shines with his abilities. While I won't list the exact capabilities of all of them, Vesper has five very strong and balanced abilities. Among his abilities, Vesper can shoot an arrow that ricochets amongst his foes, shoot a powerful stunning arrow, and preform a flurry of dazzling melee attacks. But what we really care about is his special hero ability, which much like Eridan's from KRO, calls down a storm of arrows in a small area. This ability will help you out A LOT in the early game, being able to easily cull groups of small enemies and weaken larger ones. Vesper earns another 4/5 for his Abilities.

Synergies: Vesper works very will with his teammates. If supported by a melee hero, such as Raelyn, or Barracks troops, Vesper can easily rain death down upon his foes while his melee troops keep them away from him. When it comes to melee, Vesper can hold his own, and can buy time for other troops to retreat while he fights. Like most ranged heroes, you'll need to move him constantly to keep ranged advantage, but as long as Vesper has some friends, he'll do very well. 3/5 for Synergies.

Speed: Speed is one of them most important factors for heroes in KR games. If there are enemies about to reach your gate and the hero is fighting on the opposite side of the map, speed can make the difference between a win and a lose. Vesper's speed is pretty unremarkable, however. He can run just as fast as about everything else, and while he can't exactly teleport like KRO Vez'nan, he can close distance releatively quickly, and perhaps save the day under the right conditions. Vesper earns a 3/5 for speed.

Total Score: Vesper earns a 16/25 in total. He is an excellent hero for the early game, but will soon be outclassed by many heroes you will unlock later on.
Raelyn
Raelyn is the first Dark Army hero you will unlock, the leader of the Dark Knights who will surely be a powerful fighting force for Vez'nan and the Alliance. Raelyn is slow but strong, and a very tanky hero who will assuredly assist you on your journey.
Survivability: Raelyn is one of the more tanky heroes in the game, possessing high armor and health. She can easily stand toe-to-toe with some of the stronger enemies and mini-bosses in the game, being able to survive for a very long period of time and push back the foes of the Alliance. However, Raelyn lacks magic armor, making her an easy target for any enemy shamans or mages that may set their eyes on her. Overall, Raelyn gets a 4/5 for her excellent survival prowess.

Damage: Raelyn does very good damage for the early game, being able to dispatch most simple enemies in only one or two hits, but attacking slowly. While Raelyn does do more damage then heroes like Vesper, her slow damage output unfortunately does set her back. In total, Raelyn earns a 3/5 for damage.

Abilities: Raelyn absolutely shines with her abilities. They are extremely powerful, especially two of them which I will cover now. Raelyn's Brutal Slash allows her to preform a powerful strike, cleaving an enemy in two and dealing 480 True Damage at max level, bypassing all enemy resistances and armors. Her special ability, Command Orders, summons a powerful Dark Knight that you can control. Like Brutal Slash, the Dark Knight does true damage, and can easily dispatch his foes for the limited (but still considerable) amount of time that he remains on the battlefield. While Raelyn's other abilities are quite good, these two are the best. Again, Raelyn's abilities are very good, but they do fall of in the late game. Brutal slash starts doing a lot less damage, and she also has no abilities that let her target flying units, which is a serious detriment. In total, Raelyn earns a 4/5 for her abilities.

Synergies: Raelyn can synergize very well with her fellows, especially ranged heroes like Vesper. Her tanky and healthy nature allows her to absorb damage and demolish her foes, while ranged heroes can bombard the enemies from behind and finish them off. But... Raelyn can be easily picked off by any ranged units from afar, and her lack of any strong AOE options makes it so she can only engage one enemy at a time, albeit a strong one. In the end, Raelyn's decent synergies earn her a 3/5 in this category.

Speed: If Raelyn has one shortcoming, it is speed. She is very slow, and can take several seconds to cross a battlefield if she is needed. While Raenlyn is a very capable hero, her speed can cost her, and is a factor that should be considered when choosing a hero. Raelyn earns a 2/5 in the speed category.

Total Score: Raelyn's Total Score is an 16/25! She is a very capable and strong hero for the early to mid game, and while she will fall off in endgame stages, she is a viable choice and certainly a capable fighter.
Nyru
Nyru, the Arborean child, is the first spellcaster type hero that you will encounter on your journey. For this purpose, he is a valuable fighter, being able to bombard his foes with powerful magic attacks and slow them down on the path. So, let's jump into Nyru and see what this little guy can do.

Survivability: Like most of his spellcasting comrades, Nyru is an extremely fragile hero, being a sort of glass cannon. He can do high damage, but lacks armor of any kind, actually having the lowest health of any hero in the game. Unfortunately, Nyru gets a 1/5 on the Survivability scale for being able to be killed in a few hits by basic enemies.

Damage: If Nyru fails in health, he makes up for it in damage. He can ruthlessly destroy enemies with his long-ranged magic blasts, shredding foes that possess physical armor. While he is much weaker against enemies who can stand magic damage, Nyru still gives the team a steady source of DPS. Nyru is also very helpful in dealing with flying enemies, especially in later stages when he can zip across the map quickly to deal with powerful flyers. Nyru's damage gets him a 5/5!

Abilities: Nyru's abilities are quite good. He can summon wisps that do small amounts of damage, create a shield, nerf enemies, and slow down and damage foes with his super ability. His most powerful skill is Verdant Blast, which is a high-range blast of green magic that does high damage to foes. Nyru's ultimate is also very good, which allows him to do high damage to most
ground foes and slow them down. Nyru earns a 4/5 for his abilities.

Synergies: Nyru's synergies are more unremarkable then those of other heroes. Like other ranged heroes such as Vesper, he excels at bombarding foes from beyond a solid line of melee troops. Nyru can also slow enemies down extremely effectively, and, with the max-level Linerian hero spell upgrade, can revive fallen troops from the battlefield. Nyru's synergies get him a 4/5 in Synergies.

Speed: Nyru's best attribute is his speed. He can surf on roots, gaining incredible speeds and sometimes clearing the map in a mere two or three seconds. Nyru is one of the fastest and most mobile heroes in the game, and his speed more than makes up for his low health, allowing him to easily jet out of combat and recover behind friendly lines. Nyru's speed earns him a solid 5/5, and finishes his score.

Total Score: In total, Nyru earns 19 points! While Nyru is a fragile glass cannon, his speed and abilities are great assets that should not be missed out on. He is extremely capable, especially against flying enemies, and is absolutely worth a try as one of the best heroes in the game!
Torres
Torres, the sturdy and dependable builder of the Linerian army, is a brutish and fearsome warrior who excels in clubbing his enemies into submission with his work crew and large toolkit, which he uses excellently.

Survivability: Torres has a high health pool, more than Raelyn even, and possesses decent armor. With his large health pool and healing abilities, Torres can easily survive on the battlefield for extended periods of time and slow down his foes with ease. However, his near-zero magic resistance makes him fall off a lot later, especially in chapters two and three. He can be easily demolished by any mage or spellcaster enemy, which significantly detracts from his Survivability score. All in all, he earns a 3/5 in Survivability for his near unrivaled health.

Damage: While Torres does not do much damage, he can still dish it out more reliably then a lot of heroes in the game. While his large health pool lets him deal damage over a long period of time, his lack of any high physical/magic damage means that he can't really deal significant damage to any heavily armored enemies. Torres gets a 2/5 for his damage category.

Abilities: Torres has got some pretty darn good abilities! He can not only create a tower with his own bare hands, (That has a consistent and frankly, pretty good damage output.) but also summon builders to fight by his side. He can preform AOE attacks by spinning a board, and can also heal up to 200 health with his Lunch Break ability. Torres's special ability is also quite remarkable, as he literally just drops a wrecking ball atop his foes. This iron sphere can easily eliminate large groups of low level enemies, and considerably damage other enemies, along with stunning the survivors for long periods of time. However, like most of Torres' attributes, he falls of heavily after exiting the Silveroak Forest, and with the introduction of very powerful flying enemies, he along with all melee heroes are significantly less useful. In conclusion, Torres earns a 3/5 for his abilities.

Synergies: Torres... can't really synergize. His one good aspect is being able to summon a living tower and a few workers. The former lets him kill flying units, which is very helpful for a melee hero, as explained above, but can't make up for his deficiencies as it does low damage. Torres earns a 2/5 for his Synergies.

Speed: Torres has the exact same speed as Raelyn, therefore earning him the same score, a 2/5. Like his Twilight Elf counterpart, Torres is slow but steady, an attribute which could cost you the battle if he is in the wrong position.

Total Score: In the end, Torres earns 12/25 points. Torres is a decent choice when you unlock him, but is instantly outclassed by any hero that you unlock after. In fact, any combination of the previous three heroes may be better than Torres. While Torres is one of the worse heroes in the game, he is still fun and worth a try in some situations.
Anya
Anya, the vampire huntress, is the daughter of our old friend Dante from Kingdom Rush Frontiers. Wielding a large rifle and a swift blade, Anya can demolish her enemies with her silver bullets and vampiric powers.

Survivability: Anya possesses a considerable health pool, more than Vesper's but less then that of Raelyn or Torres. What Anya somewhat lacks in the health department she makes up for in mobility. She is the fastest hero in the game, and using her speed, she can easily dash away and avoid death. Even if she DOES die, her super ability can be used to revive her instantly. Overall, Anya gets a high 4/5 in Survivability.

Damage: While damage is not Anya's strong suit, she can dish it out consistently and reliably. She can do high damage at range using her gun, which in itself does have ridiculous range, allowing Anya to snipe enemies from afar. She can rush into melee combat and hold her own, and, like her father, is a true hybrid hero who can excel in both melee and ranged combat. Anya earns a 4/5 for her Damage category.

Abilities: Anya has a lot of incredible abilities! Her super ability stands out, which allows her to summon a projection of her dead father, Dante. The ghost can hold his own in combat, reviving Anya from the dead if he spawns on her, and being able to put his dual pistols to good use and dish out big damage. Her other abilities allow Anya to preform a crazy long shooting spin attack, (That does true damage!) lifesteal using Vampiric Claw, summon bats, and more. All in all, Anya's abilities net her a solid 4/5.

Synergies: Anya can synergize well with her teammates, but not as well as some other heroes. She can snipe from range while melee units do the fighting, or change roles and join the fray of battle. She can use her bats to steal gold, and while the amount is small, this can be paired with other heroes to get a decent amount of cash. In the end, Anya gets a 3/5 in Synergies.

Speed: Speed is Anya's greatest asset! She is the number one fastest hero in the game, being able to turn into a misty vampire and zip across the map. Anya can outrun almost any foe, and, in moments of dire peril, can save the day by arriving at a post quickly. Anya gets a 5/5 for her Speed.

Total Score: Anya's total score is a whopping 20/25! She is an extremely capable hero and absolutely a hero you should use for a decent portion of the game.
Grimson
Grimson, the half-abomination mercenary, fights with the Alliance to gain revenge on the Unblinded Cult, who did this to him. Grimson fights by turning his abomination half into different weapons and using them against his foes.

Survivability: Grimson has a decent but unremarkable health pool, but has no armor to shield him in battle. His survivability is boosted by one of his abilities, which lets him health with every hit when under 25% health. He can also use his Renew Flesh to regain health, and his high speed to zoom away from foes when he is in peril. Grimson can survive, but most of his survivability attributes are due to his abilities. Therefore, Grimson earns a 3/5 for Survivability.

Damage: Grimson does a mediocre amount of damage, dealing physical damage to his foes. Some of his abilities let him strike with greater damage, but his basic DPS is unremarkable. Even in his abomination form, Grimson does very little damage, and cannot even hit flying foes. Ultimately, Grimson gets a 2/5 for Damage.

Abilities: The abilities that Grimson has are surely some of the best and coolest in the whole game. With his abilities, Grimson can shift his body into new forms, steal life from enemies, and even turn into a massive abomination when low on health. His super ability, Creeping Death, allows him to summon a pool of ooze under his foes that slows them down and damages them. Then, the pool bursts into spikes, doing large damage to enemies and slowing them down a little longer. Despite all this, Grimson falls off quick in the later levels, his abomination form mattering a lot less and his super dealing no damage against flying enemies. Grimson earns a 3/5 for his average abilities!

Synergies: Grimson can synergize well with his allies, especially when he is in his abomination form. When in this mode, he can draw attention away from weaker heroes or units and tank, regaining health and eventually his semi-human form. That's basically all he can do though, not doing any damage against flying enemies or buffing towers. Grimson overall gets a 2/5 for his Synergies.

Speed: Like Anya, Grimson has incredible speed! He is fast, turning into a pile of slime to escape his foes. However, this is a lot slower then hero movement abilities such as Nyru's or Therien's, earning him a 4/5 in this category.

Total Score: Grimson earns an 14/25 for his acceptable performance. While not the fastest or strongest hero in the game, Grimson is one of the most interesting and coolest heroes in the game. I would recommend giving him a try, although I would not advise keeping him on your team for an extended period of time.
Broden
Broden is a pretty mixed bag. While he is the game's first flying hero, (and not a dragon, surprisingly!) and a good one at that, Broden has a lot of mixed attributes and is niche, but still very good.

Survivability: Survivability is one of Broden's more mixed attributes. I have never seen him die personally, but that is merely because I soon swapped him out for better heroes as the game progressed. He is invincible against all melee enemies, obviously, which is a great asset, but he falls quickly to ranged or magic damage. He has no armor, and while his health is decent, any Unblinded Priests or even maybe the viper archers from the Silveroak stages can take him down. Broden's Survivability gets a 3/5.

Damage: Broden's Damage is one of his best qualities. His base attack does little damage and cannot hit flying units, which is a pretty big setback, but his special does decent damage, at least in the Forsaken Canyon, and some of his abilities can deal very good damage. Broden excels in AOE however, being able to deal with large groups of small enemies like the spiders in some of the earlier Forsaken Canyon stages, or Glarelings. His damage is good, but only gets him a 3/5.

Abilities: Our freedom loving friend Broden has good abilities. His super is alright, and does some decent damage, but excels in being able to hit flying units and slow them down. His Hunting Dive is very good, being able to instantly devour a lot of enemies in the game, although ineffective against crowds. His bullet storm lasts a ridiculously long amount of time and does good damage, and his firebomb does more damage then his basic attack, sets enemies on fire, and has good AOE. Broden's decent abilities land him a 4/5 for this category.

Synergies: Broden can synergize alright with his comrades. Unlike Therien or the Arcane Wizards, he cannot buff heroes, or slow down enemies like Nyru. His only good assets are, if they are good, being able to ignore flying enemies and kill the melee ones so other troops and towers can be liberated from fighting ground enemies to focus on the air ones. Broden's Synergies get him a 2/5.

Speed:
Unlike some KR flying heroes, Broden has good speed, and can cross the map quickly. There's really not much to say here, except for that Broden can quickly get from one place to another, and perhaps bail you out of a tough situation. 4/5

Total Score: Broden gets a 16/25. He is a decent hero, and capable in his own right. I would recommend giving him a try, for he has saved me a good couple lives with his clutch abilities, but I would not put too much faith in him as you progress later in the game. Either way, Broden is solid.
Therien
Therien is... oh boy, this is one GREAT hero! Therien, the void mage, is a powerful magic unit armed with dark magic that she can use to teleport across the map and hex enemies. She has extremely capable abilities and damage, and is absolutely one amazing hero!

Survivability: One of Therien's very few failings is her semi-low health pool. She can die in a few hits to most any unit and has no magic or physical armor. This would pose a serious problem, but like Nyru, she uses her incredible speed to instantly avoid any danger. While Therien's health on its own does not earn her an exemplary score, it combined with her other abilities and attributes gives her a 3/5 in this category.

Damage: Therien's damage is one of her main selling points. She can do high damage with her basic attack, more with her super ability, and even more with her clone attack. Her clone lets her almost double her damage output, and combined with the already high damage that Therien does, these abilities let her shread through most enemies with physical armor and a lot of other enemies too. Therien's amazing damage earns her 4/5 points.

Abilities: Therien's a abilities are without a doubt the best part of her. Her special is perhaps the strongest one in the game, but I'll get to that shortly. Therien's abilities let her do a large variety of things, including clone herself, buff towers, and lock enemies in a spectral prison. These last two abilities are her best. Cosmic Prison, her super, lets her trap several enemies in a different plane for eight whole seconds, all the while doing 270 damage. To my knowledge, this ability has no unit cap, (but feel free to correct me) as I've seen Therien imprison dozens of small enemies clustered up together. This ability can be a saving grace, delaying large groups of enemies right about to end you or buying time for a slower melee hero to arrive at the battle. On top of that, Therien's Spatial Distortion ability can increase tower's range by 15% for eight seconds, and has infinite range. In the end, Therien's near-broken abilities net her a 5/5 in this category.
And no, we're not talking about Void Rift.

Synergies: While a lot of heroes fail in the Synergy category, Therien does not, two of her abilities being specially designed to cater to her allies. Black Aegis allows Therien to shield a random ally near her, absorbing up to 140 damage at max level, and exploding too. While this ability isn't amazing, it certainly helps, along with the other ability I discussed earlier, Spatial Distortion. With these two abilities, one tower-buffing and one soldier-buffing, Therien rightfully earns a 4/5 for her Synergies.

Speed: Remember how I said earlier that Anya was the fastest hero in the game? Forget about that. Therien beats her by a mile (literally) with her ability to instantly teleport across the map. This has one obvious downside, which is if you want to move her close by, she'll walk instead of teleport. But this is barely anything in the face of her tremendous speed. There's really not much to say here... Therien earns a 5/5!

Total Score: Therien knocks all other heroes before her out of the park with her 21 points, marking her as one of the best heroes in the game. While I somehow thought Therien was bad upon first using her, I now know, as everyone else hopefully should, that she is la creme de la creme of Kingdom Rush Alliance heroes. Therien is a must-use for any endgame players, and is absolutely essential to victory in many scenarios.
Onagro
Designed by Chim and Churri, the goblin engineers, Onagro is a massive greenskin war machine designed to bring destruction and pain down upon its foes. Onagro fights by bombarding its enemies with bombs and missals, and calling down various flying contraptions. Onagro is an extremely powerful ranged hero and absolutely worth a try when you unlock it.

Survivability: Onagro can survive for a long time on the battlefield given the fact that, for some reason, it cannot be targeted by any melee units. Only ranged units can hurt it, and even if they do, they have to get past its large healthpool first. Onagro can survive on the battlefield for a long time, and rarely dies, only doing so if overwhelmed by a large amount of spellcasting enemies. Onagro gets a 4/5 for its Survivability!

Damage: Onagro's damage, while not spectacular, is still very good. Much like the dwarf battle mecha from KRF, Onagro shoots missals at enemies from afar. Onagro has neither the range or damage of KRF's Wasp Missals, but still does very decent damage. Unfortunately, the damage is physical, so Onagro doesn't do extremely well against any heavily armored enemies or those weak to damage. Onagro excels in defeating large groups of small enemies, such as Glarelings or Nightmares. In conclusion, Onagro gets a 3/5 for its Damage category.

Abilities: Abilities are some of Onagro's greatest attributes. Its Goblidrones are extremely effective at killing enemies, ground or flying, and helping the big guy out. Mine Drop is mid, but Onagro's ground slam is very good, stunning enemies, while Tar Bomb can also slow down enemies and prevent them from escaping. Onagro's super ability, however, is its very best. It calls down a goblin zeppelin to bombard the area with large and damaging bombs. The zeppelin comes in from the edge of the screen closest to the location where it was called to, and slows down, dropping bombs there and further down on the path. The zeppelin eventually speeds up and exits the map, but not before doing large AOE damage. Onagro's excellent abilities give it a well deserved 4/5!

Synergies: Skills such as Tar Bomb and Mine Drop let Onagro efficiently support its comrades, slowing down enemies and laying down deadly hazards when not fighting. Onagro's ranged missals can eliminate flying units, clearing them away so other towers and units can focus on their jobs and not worry about the pesky fliers. On top of that, Death From Above's zeppelin can remove large groups of enemies that are threatening groups of soldiers, letting high damage towers focus on larger enemies. Onagro's Synergies net it a 4/5 in the end.

Speed: Onagro, like a lot of ground heroes in this game, is very slow, crossing the map in extended periods of time. Extra coordination will be required to position Onagro correctly, and the lack of speed could potentially cause you a loss if Onagro cannot get to a post in time. Onagro's final Speed score is a 2/5.

Total Score: Onagro gets a total score of 17/25. Onagro is an extremely solid hero, especially for the late game, and excels in taking down large groups of small enemies and dealing heavy damage with abilities and ranged attacks. Onagro is a must for any serious Kingdom Rush Alliance player, and I would absolutely recommend trying out at one point or another.
Warhead
Warhead! A really cool hero that I was excited for, but unfortunately one I don't think is very good. Warhead is a melee hero, and we know what happens to melee heroes in this game... but let's break Warhead down step by step and see what he's all about.

Survivability: Warhead has decent armor, health, and speed, a package which does allow him to survive well enough. His metal body can withstand attacks from many melee attacks, but falls off against magic. Warhead's main problem, in my opinion at least, is that he is an endgame hero (unlocked right before the last traditional boss level, no less!) that would be far better suited for the early to mid game. He can easily be shredded by most enemies in the two campaign levels that you get him for, but in the end holds up well enough. Warhead's Survivability aspects get him a 3/5.

Damage: Warhead's damage is one of his better attributes. He has one of the highest melee damages in the game, being able to ruthlessly decimate enemies at close range. Some of his abilities, mainly the falcon punch, let him quickly decimate low health enemies, although they do have a cooldown and are not extremely good against larger minibosses such as the Flesh Behemoths that you'll eventually confront in the later stages of the Void Beyond. In the end, Warhead's very respectable damage gets him a 4/5.

Abilities: Warhead's abilities are a mixed bag. He can spray fire over a large area for one of his abilities, doing solid damage to enemies, and solidly punch others to knock them off the map. However, Warhead's special is extremely lacking, and perhaps even one of the worst specials in the game for where he is. For his special, Warhead summons a war wagon which travels down the path, leaving a trail of smoke and fire and damaging and burning any enemies which it crosses. It functions similarly to the Necromancers' Death Riders ability, or Grosh's special from KRV. However, unlike the previous hero ability, which does good damage, goes along the entire path, and stuns enemies, Warhead's war wagon, if placed at the end of the map, can't even go the whole way to the entrance. Moreover, it goes so fast that it can barely damage enemies, and while it does stun, its damage is pretty negligible. He does good DOT, and has very good single targeting, but since ultimates are so important in this game, Warhead's abilities unfortunately earn him a 2/5.

Synergies: Warhead, being a respectable tank, can suck up damage and protect his teammates for a reasonable stretch of time. His decent speed lets him get around the map quickly and come to the defense of a post, but unfortunately he has zero potential of targeting flying enemies. Since flyers are just so deadly in this game, Warheads inability to deal with them is a huge weakness with unfortunately takes away from him a lot. Warhead gets a 3/5 in Synergies.

Speed: Warhead might just have the coolest movement ability in the game; he sprouts boosters and begins to jet across the map at decent speeds. He's about as fast as Broden, and has a decent speed that is respectable by all means and might just save the day. He's not the fastest, but he's not quite the slowest either. Warhead's speed gets him a 3/5.

Total Score: Warhead is a really cool hero that I wish I liked more, but unfortunately his inability to target flying units and his lackluster ultimate ability earn him 15/25 points, placing him solidly in the lower half of heroes. Warhead is a solid choice for the early to mid game, his only problem being that he is the last hero you unlock before beating the final boss...
Warhead is good if you want to go back through the campaign and finish it on impossible, but there are two postgame heroes which are a lot better then he is. Speaking of which, let's talk about one of, if not the best hero in the game.
Lumenir
Our first dragon hero! Lumenir, the Lightbringer, is one of the most powerful heroes in the game. Wielding an arsenal of light powers and magic damage, she is prepared to annihilate the post game as she soars to battle.

Survivability: Lumenir has high health, even for a post-game hero. Hey flying is an amazing attribute, meaning she can't even be targeted by melee attacks, and the small amount of ranged enemies in the final stages of the game can barely scratch her. If she is in peril, Lumenir can fly away from foes, but her greatest Survivability attribute is the fact that she flies, an innate strength of every dragon. And don't forget that Lumenir has armor, shielding her even further and making her almost invincible in battle. Lumenir's fantastic Survivability gets her a 4/5!

Damage: Damage is one of Lumenir's finest attributes. She does very decent magic damage, and has abilities that let her crush her foes with ease. Lumenir has abilities that can execute most small enemies and deal big damage to others, and can also deal decent crowd control with her Waves of Light(?) ability. Lumenir's super is also extremely powerful, stunning and dealing huge damage to enemies. In the end, Lumenir's amazing potential to do huge damage gets her a 5/5!

Abilities: Lumenir has some of the best abilities in the game, and her ultimate is so good that it is only rivaled by Therien's. Lumenir has a score of high-damaging abilities, one of her best being Celestial Judgement, wherein Lumenir pulls out a huge sword and uses her powers to jab it into an enemy, killing them most of the time and stunning them if not. Lumenir's other abilities can create waves of light that scour the path and damage enemies, summon small light dragons to support the other hero, and more. But Lumenir's best ability is her ultimate, Call of Triumph. This ability summons three oathbound light-warriors, reminiscent of the paladins of KR1. The paladins attack with startling alacrity, stunning enemies as they enter the stage and hitting them ferociously, leaving them still stunned as they exit. The ability has a relatively fast cooldown time, which, when paired with the strongest hero upgrade in the skill tree, refreshes the spell instantly. This ability, which is impossible to miss at this point in the game, allows Lumenir to cast her spell twice the seventh time around, making her already incredible damage even more formidable. In conclusion, Lumenir's abilities net her a 5/5.

Synergies: If Lumenir, and every other flying hero in Kingdom Rush, has one weakness, it's their Synergies. Flying heroes can't attack enemies that are under them, meaning that they always have to be positioned in front or behind their enemies in order to attack them, which could prove fatal if the enemies are very close to exiting the stage. In addition, Lumeir can't block ground enemies, sometimes letting them slip by while they are right underneath her without being able to do anything. Lumenir shares all of these weaknesses, but is supported by her own abilities that strengthen her team. Lumenir is unique in one aspect; buffing the other hero on the field. Lumenir can also shield troops and heroes down on the field, ultimately earning her more Synergy points. Lumenir, while brought down by being a flying hero, still has great Synergies that get her a 4/5.

Speed: Like most flying heroes in the game, Lumenir is quite fast. She can cross the map with startling speed, and while she is not as fast as heroes like Anya or Therien, she can still put the petal to the metal when it matters. Lumenir's great speed in the end nets her a 3/5.

Total Score: Lumenir is one of, if not THE best hero in the game, with a score of a tremendous 21 points! Lumenir is extremely solid, and is a must in the toolkit of any general seeking to conquer the Impossible mode, Iron and Heroic challenges, or the post-game campaigns.
Kosmyr
Kosmyr, the crystal dragon of the Forsaken Canyon, is the last dragon hero you will unlock in the game (At this point in time, at least.) and an impressive fighter.

Survivability: Kosmyr has very high health, the highest health of any hero in the game, in fact, if the statistics are to be trusted. He is lacking in armor, but the fact that he is a flying hero instantly gives him a head start in this category. His high health, paired with his flying status makes him an extremely durable hero with a 4/5 in Survivability.

Damage: Kosmyr's damage is quite mid. He does physical damage, which isn't ideal for a dragon hero, seeing as most enemies have some physical resistance in this game. His breath has an extremely nice AOE effect, which helps out a lot in some situations, but the cost of this is less damage. His ability, Garnet Tomb, is an instakill, but besides that his abilities lack the capability to do much damage. Kosmyr's decent damage gets him a 3/5.

Abilities: Kosmyr's abilities, much like his damage, are quite decent. He has several AOE crowd control abilities, which seem to be his specialty. He can cause massive spikes to appear on the path, damaging large amounts of enemies, along with being able to slow them down and deal magic damage to them with his totem. Kosmyr's super ability is just as decent as his other abilities. To my knowledge, it functions identically to Rain of Fire or Soul Impact from other KR games; calling down a central blast on one location and also striking several other places on the map. The ability does little damage, but it is true damage, which is very helpful due to the fact it bypasses enemy armor. In the end, Kosmyr gets a 3/5 for his abilities.

Synergies: With his AOE breath and abilities that damage large amounts of enemies, Kosmyr has excellent Synergies. He can easily wipe out large amounts of small enemies, such as Glarelings, that come in hoards and that have the potential to overwhelm your defenses. Power Conduit is also an excellent ability, decreasing enemy speed by a lot and also dealing magic damage to them. Kosmyr has extremely good Synergies, which, in the end, get him a 4/5.

Speed: Speed is not one of Komsyr's greatest attributes. He's not slow, true, but he's not fast either. He can move quickly enough in some situations, but can't zip across the map like other heroes. Kosmyr's speed attributes in the end get him a 3/5.

Total Score: In the end, Kosmyr gets a 17/25. He is a good hero and excellent for crowd control, although his abilities are not the best and his damage is subpar. But Kosmyr is definitely worth a try, and I would recommend using him in some scenarios.
Stregi
The first new hero of the Undying Fury campaign! Stregi the witch specializes in delaying enemies and transforming them with her large collection of potions and spells.

Survivability: Stregi, much like Nyru, is a very weak magic user. Put simply, Stregi dies in very few hits. Put her up against stronger units like Evolving Scourges or Flesh Golems, she'll die extremely easily. Likewise, she can be killed from the arrow barrages of the rangers in the first few levels of the campaign. The same rangers that are the basic, weakest enemy in Undying Fury. Stregi has some potential, but if you seek to use it, you'll have to make sure she's well protected. 2/5

Damage: While Nyru has very low health and high damage, Stregi only has one of these. She can die very quickly, but her damage is quite pitiful. To my knowledge, (My Stregi is only level seven, so feel free to call me out if she gets a dramatic damage increase.) Steregi's damage does not increase much high than 20-30, even at her highest levels. She does do magic damage, which is a small redeeming factor, but Stregi will have a hard time stopping most strong enemies. Stregi gets another 2/5.

Abilities: Stregi has some alright abilities. Most of them focus on slowing down her foes in one way or another. For example, Stregi can splash enemies with a slowness potion, turn them into pumpkins, or push them back along the track. This last item is her special, which at max level can teleport eight enemies back on the path and put them to sleep for a couple seconds. This ability is amazing for stalling, for it has a very generous cooldown, but unfortunately does no damage. Given that it only slows enemies for five seconds at max level, it's basically just a worse version of Therien's special, which slows for eight and does damage. EIther way, Stregi's abilities get her a 3/5.

Synergies Stregi does do pretty good in this category. As I previously mentioned, a lot of her abilities let her slow down her foes which can allow with some interesting synergies, like with Boneheart's mist, for example. Stregi also has excellent range: she can shoot enemies from very far away. She might even have the biggest range in the game, except for maybe Onagro or Anya. Stregi can also summon small cat familiars, which, unlike Alleria's cats, can block enemies and stall them while your more competent allies clean them up. Combined with her pumpkin transformation ability, all of Stregi's factors work together to get her a 4/5 in this category.

Speed: Stregi is not the fastest hero. Granted, she's not as slow as Torres or Raelyn, but she's still pretty slow. Stregi's slow speed should probably be a decent red flag, since she takes a long time to get to important battles. Speed, again, is vital in moments of peril, so consider this when choosing your hero. Stregi's speed gets her a 2/5.

In conclusion, Stregi is a fun hero with good stall potential that I would recommend trying out. She's not going to help you in any of the later, more difficult levels, and she shouldn't be a permanent edition to your layout. Still, she has her pros and might be useful in some special situations. Her final tally is a 13/25.
Boneheart
A dragon lives forever! Boneheart has returned, and with style. This undead dragon rains death upon his foes, and uses his host of familiar and new abilities to enhance the might of the Alliance.
(Yes, I know this is the Frontiers image of Boneheart. It's better.)

Survivability: Boneheart being a flying hero is immediately a huge asset in his favor. He can't be killed by melee units, and on top of that, he has a huge health pool and some physical armor. While Boneheart can be taken down by powerful magic units, he still can survive almost all battle scenarios and will rarely leave your side. A 4/5 for Boneheart.

Damage: Boneheart can dish out some serious damage. He's a bit of a midground between Lumenir and Kosmyr: he dosen't do as much AOE damage or single target damage as either of them, but he can still excel in both. Boneheart's normal attack does great physical damage, and he has many high-damage abilities that can damage large crowds. But we'll get to that soon. Boneheart gets another 4/5 in this category.

Abilities: While at first glance, Boneheart's abilities may seem underwhelming, they can still pack a punch in combat. All of Boneheart's basic abilities are great for AOE: he can call down a shower of bones to do small but considerable damage to a lot of enemies, call down a lingering cloud of plague, or shower the area with explosives to do big damage. On top of that, Boneheart's super ability allows him to summon our old favorites, the skeleton doggos! These two fellows can make up for Boneheart not being able to block ground enemies, and they can survive for a long time too and pack a punch. And when you get your ability refresh, four of the doggos can easily turn the battle in your favor. Boneheart gets a 5/5 for his stupendous abilities!

Synergies: As I said previously, a large detriment to flying heroes is not being able to block ground units. Boneheart makes up with this, however, with his aforementioned skeleton summon ability. Combine that with Boneheart's amazing AOE and single target potential, and Boneheart can get a 4/5 in this category.

Speed: Like most of his draconic kin, Boneheart is neither fast nor slow. Still, he has the highest flying speed of any of the dragons, and has a higher speed than most other heroes too. Boneheart's great speed gets him a 4/5 in this final category.

All in all, Boneheart is an amazing hero, on the level with greats like Therien and Lumenir. Boneheart is absolutely a must-use sometime during your playthrough, and can absolutely change the fight in your favor when the going gets tough. Boneheart earns a 21/25 as his final score.
Sylvara
Sylvara, the newest hero added in the Ancient Hunger DLC, is one of the most interesting heroes released to date. Sylvara has a lot of excellent attributes but also a lot of flaws, so let's break her down.

Survivability: As per usual flying heroes have excellent Survivability due to the fact that they can't get targeted by melee units. However, Sylvara herself has a relatively low pool of base health, the lowest of all the dragon heroes, in fact. She can easily be killed by the ranged attacks of the Lizardshots from the Ancient Hunger campaign, as well as several other ranged units. Her abilities can help her survive, but overall Sylvara's Survability is mediocre at best, earning her a 3/5 in this category.

Damage: Like Boneheart and Kosmyr, Sylvara does physical damage which is very refreshing given that most dragons in the past have had magic damage. Anyway, Sylvara's attack is cool if nothing else: She shoots out a barrage of thorn-like leaves at her enemies which does very decent damage and can hit multiple enemies at a time, sometimes killing them. Overall Sylvara does pretty good damage, earning her a 4/5 in this category.

Abilities: Abilities are probably where Sylvara shines the most. All of her abilities revolve around her hero ability, Inner Nature. Inner Nature buffs Sylvara's damage, speed, and resistances, but also evolves most of her abilities into new forms that are much better. Among Sylvara's abilities are Call of the Forest, (Summons two tanky Arboreans to stall enemies) Deep Roots, (60% damage for eight seconds at max level) and Thorny Breath (Sylvara does more damage to enemies depending on their speed. All of these abilities are really good by themselves, but are even stronger during Inner Nature. The Arborean defenders get much stronger, Thorny Breath has a chance to instakill, and Sylvara generally becomes a lot stronger. In the end, Sylvara gets an amazing 5/5 in this category.

Synergies: While Sylvara is a really great hero she has a couple glaring flaws. First off, Sylvara inexplicably can't target flying enemies... and if you've played Kingdom Rush Alliance, you'll know how important flying enemies are. In addition, Sylvara has absolutely abysmal range which requires you to constantly micro her. She is a really good hero, but unfortunately these differences are so glaring that Sylvara earns a 1/5 in this category.

Speed: Sylvara has a reasonably normal speed which is unlike most flying heroes. However, Sylvara's Inner Nature does increase her speed which allows her to zoom across the stage most effectively. In the end, this can help her get around very well, which means that she'll get a 4/5 in this category.

Sylvara earns a 17/25 in the end. She is an extremely fun hero (With incredible posture as well. Look at her float!) that is quite good in some scenarios but is unfortunately bogged down by some inexplicable difficulties that make her unideal for a lot of scenarios. I would recommend using Sylvara, but make sure you consider both her pros and cons before adding her to your layout.
Kratoa
The new hero introduced in the Colossal Dwarfare update, Kratoa is actually one of the funnest and most unique heroes I've ever used in this game. Though the Colossal Dwarfare DLC may not be worth your while, if you ever chance to pick it up, I would absolutely suggest giving Kratoa a try!
Survivability: While Kratoa isn't the most tanky of heroes, he actually has a lot of factors that lend to his Survivability. He has a very decent health which stands up to the enemies in his campaign, and even outside of it he can survive for quite a while. This is nothing out of the ordinary, but one of the most interesting things about Kratoa is his revive mechanic which allows him to move when dead, like Dante in Kingdom Rush Frontiers. This allows you to reposition Kratoa so he can be ready to jump into the fray, which gives a lot of advantages. In the end, I think he merits a 4/5 in this category.

Damage: This category is unfortunately not Kratoa's strong suit. His base damage is alright, and enough to stand up against most foes, but it doesn't fit in with his good health and colossal frame. He has a couple abilities which allow him to do great damage against his enemies, though in the end you probably won't be relying on him for pure physical damage. As he scores averagely, I'll score him a 3/5 in this category.

Abilities: Kratoa has some extremely excellent abilities that will surely make him worth trying. I was actually surprised that Kratoa's abilities were this good-but quintessentially, Kratoa allows you to bring back the tried-and-true Rain of Fire from the first two games in the KR series. At max level, this ability is extremely good, and though it has a long recharge time it can do very high damage to most enemies, along with leaving a pit of burning flames on the ground where it strikes. This is a really great ability that I can't underestimate, and along with Kratoa's other abilities (which allow him to deal excellent single-target and AOE damage) he absolutely deserves a 5/5 in Abilities!

Synergies: I was really surprised about how cool Kratoa's character is. As I've already said, he has a unique mechanic which allows him to turn into a pool of lava and move around while he's dead. What I didn't say is that Kratoa actually does damage while he is dead, which allows you to employ some really fun strategies and move him around enemies while he is dead to burn them. This actually does extremely good damage, and if you have the time to micro I would absolutely do this. Also, when Kratoa dies (my testing has discovered that this happens about 50% of the time) he sprays magma and fire over the map which strikes enemies at random, doing really good damage. Kratoa also buffs towers when he comes back to life, and so if you position him appropriately you can gain a huge advantage through Kratoa's death. One more thing. I'm not sure if this is a bug, but you can actually kill Kratoa with his own Rain of Fire ability, which seems to trigger his fire-spray 100% of the time. If you want to get crafty, you can kill Kratoa and enemies with his ability and spray the map with lava, though it might take some practice. Oh, and a note: Killing Kratoa with his rain of fire ability actually makes him respawn faster. (Credit to Pielord in the comments for this!) In the end, Kratoa is a really cool hero, and he absolutely merits a 4/5 in this category!

Speed: This is unfortunately Kratoa's weakest attribute. He is one of the slowest heroes in the game, and has no redeeming factors like teleportation, or flight, or anything else. Kratoa is a really good hero, but you'll have to be careful with where you put him. He cannot get away easily, and in the end I'll give him a 2/5 in Speed.

In the end, Kratoa scores a 17/25, which seems to be the standard score for just about everything in this game. I would absolutely recommend trying him out if you pick up the DLC, as he is an amazing hero!
Spydyr
Spydyr, the newest hero introduced in the Arachnophobia update, is a hero I expected to enjoy a lot more than I did. Still, I like Spydyr, and while I don't think she's very good, I'll admit that she's a very fun hero with a lot of merit. Below is an artist's reproduction of Spydyr, caught fresh in the wild without any of the glamour she uses to normally obscure her appearance.

Survivability: I can give Spydyr props for a lot of things, but Survivability unfortunately isn't one of them. While she does have a respectable healthbar, it simply doesn't keep up with the increased difficulty of the levels you'll be using her on. Now, though Spydyr's movement allows her to dart out of combat quickly, she unfortunately takes some time to burrow into the ground and therefore can't escape quickly. In the end, I'll score her a 3/5 in this category.

Damage: Spydyr thankfully does magic damage, which at this rate is getting to be something necessary for heroes to be good (see Therien, Lumenir, etc.). Unfortunately, her firing rate is relatively slow, and while she can target flying enemies and make quick work of most of the small spiders in her areas, she can do little against greater enemies and bosses. Spydyr gets a 3/5 in damage.

Abilities: If Spydyr has nothing else, it is the COOL quality a lot of heroes (looking at you, Torres) in this game lack. Her abilities certainly add onto this, and she's got a lot of unique ones I wouldn't have expected. One of Spydyr's most memorable abilities allows her to burrow under enemies, which acts as her movement ability, but she actually does damage to enemies she surfaces under, and at max level she actually does good damage. Like Kratoa, the micro is tiresome, but it's actually quite good against weaker enemies and groups. Similarly, Spydyr can poison enemies with her abilities and also teleport across the map to quickly strike a foe down. Spydyr earns a well-deserved 4/5 in Abilities.

Synergies: Besides the aforementioned tunnel-digging, Spydyr's synergies are sadly lacking. I will admit that her super ability, which summons up to five spider-minions, is really good, but these spiders last only for a short time and will soon be gone. They can stun enemies, however, which allows them stall large groups of foes while your towers pick them off. Still, they have low health and linger but briefly, so Spydyr merits a 3/5 with her Synergies.

Speed: Spydyr is one of the surprisingly many heroes in this game that can teleport, though unlike them her movement ability is stalled. Spydyr prepares to burrow into the ground, and then surfaces, which is certainly less than instantaneous. She's still quite fast, though, though probably not as quick as Anya or Therien. A 4/5 in Speed.

In the end, Spydyr scores a 17/25, which is seemingly our median score, but I would rank her lower than most of her comrades. She's a good and fun hero who I would recommend you use, but once you get her to level ten, her use will mostly be expended.
Final Tierlist
Alright, here is the Final Tierlist of every hero in the game! The Heroes are ranked D-S Tier, D being the worst, and S being the best. Each category is based off of the amount of points each hero has, and the further heroes are up their tier shows how many points they have. For example. Torres and Grimson are both in B Tier, but Grimson is higher ranked because he is closer to the left side then Torres. Hope this helps, and have an excellent rest of your day. Keep on rushing!

(Please note that more heroes will be added to the Tierlist as they come out.)
Conclusion
Thanks for reading my guide! I hope it will help you choose your proper hero loadout, so you can hopefully have a fun time with this excellent game. I hope you have an excellent rest of your day, and that you come back to this guide after new heroes are added. See you soon!

In addition, I've created a variety of other guides for Alliance and other games in the Kingdom Rush series, including dubs for those guides in different languages. (Credit to Dany for Russian translation.) If you're interesting in them, please check them out here:

I understand your gripes, but let me just say two things:
1) I, personally, believe that my list states the best and worst heroes in a way that is generally agreed upon by the community. What I mean by this is that even though (as far as you reckon) the individual stats of the heroes may be wrong, their general rankings are accurate. While it is true that Stregi's health is one of her least important attributes, she is still one of the worse heroes in the game. Her health deficiency only adds to this.
2) This whole guide is subjective. Everything here is my opinion, and I think I have generally supported my beliefs with enough evidence from the game. You have every freedom to disagree, however.
Thank you for taking the time to write up a response, though! Take care, and happy Rushing. :praisesun:

I’m not gonna go into detail as to why I disagree with your rankings (unless you want me to), but rather the methodology behind it. As a general principle, I don’t think ranking heroes based on a total score of attributes is very effective. It can lead to skewed and uneven results. Like, if a hero is meant to just deal damage and not stall, then not being able to stall well should be expected, and really shouldn’t be taken into account unless it’s an active part of their kit (like for Stregi, you gave her a 2/5 for survivability, but in realistic gameplay with her you’d never actually put her in melee combat, so it’s irrelevant). The best way to rank a hero is just based on their pure impact when used at their best, and not a game of irrelevant numbers.

First off, thanks for commenting!
To Anteater, I'll agree that Sylvara is very good but the fact that she can't target enemies is a huge drawback, and the same applies for Kratoa. They are both excellent heroes, as I've stated, but I don't think I'm going to rank them any higher because of this.
Kosmyr is interesting though. I haven't used him much since level ten, and I'm not sure if he got changed in the patch. I'll have to review him again to see how he's changed.
And to Pielord, yes, I did mention in the Kratoa section how enemies treading on his corpse causes the to take damage, and that the Rain of Fire kills Kratoa. I didn't know that made him respawn faster, though! I'll have to add that in.
Pielord 4 月 21 日 上午 5:42
Dunno if someone commented, but enemies that walk over Kratoa's body when he's dead take damage and are set on fire. And if you drop the rain of fire on top of Kratoa, he will die while dropping globs of lava randomly all over the stage, but he will respawn a bit faster.
Anteater 4 月 20 日 下午 6:33
Kratoa is pretty OP (same for Kosmyr), and they definitely should both be S tier as well. I also have Sylvara in S tier, but that's only if you use her autocancel technique which lets her machine gun her basic attacks and shred through everything.

Yeah! I really wanted to rank Sylvara higher than I did but unfortunately the flying thing is fatal. She could be an absolute 10/10 otherwise.

Nice work for updating the hero tier-list :aground_pie:

The new hero, Sylvara unfortunately can't target flying enemies so the community is kinda 50/50 with her being good or bad as a dragon hero. But her DPS is very good for ground enemies when there's barracks or reinforcements supporting her.

Overall, I give her 8/10 but the other dragon heroes are slightly better than her in my opinion.

Sylvara added to the guide! Hope you all enjoy.

Great guide. Would read again. Give this guy all the awards - he's so cool.

Again, thank you so much! I'm very happy you agree and saw what I did. In fact, if you really like my style, I think I'll get to work on another Alliance guide for towers. I'll let you know when it's out and/or in progress.
Also, don't sleep on your own Legends tierlist! It was really good with a nice complete tierlist, and good breakdowns and separate sections on the different promotions. Again, great job!
