The American Hunger for War, Felt Abroad

The next advancement into the P-36 "Hawk" air frame, the American P-40 had little time to remain obscure as it was shipped off to China to fight the Japanese. There, the fighter earned its "Warhawk" nickname as young Americans took to the skies to fight the war their country would not inside of the same, the same moniker being used to identify conflict-hungry Americans over a century earlier. Though much less nimble than Japanese fighters, it was far faster, could survive more, and could punch harder. This is where the legacy began.

By the end of the war, the venerable aircraft had been used by 17 different countries, from Down Under to the Motherland herself.

Startup:
> Turn ON "ENGINE MASTER"
> HOLD "ENGINE MAGNETO"
> Turn ON "RELEASE WHEEL BRAKES"
> Throttle UP and pull UP

Weapons:
> Infinite ammo is required, but you have 1684 rounds in the simulated guns--just like the real thing.
> The bombs release as a pair and hit hard.

Rearming
> Connect hardpoints to reload bombs
> Reload key is on the front portion of the right wing.
> Refueling is near the intake.

In the Great War we “ALREADY” used it

That is not what I said

The Great War was WWI, the P-40 is a WWII fighter. By the time the Dutch received these aircraft, they were basically dissolved. When their Pacific forces were assimilated into Australia and her allies, the triangle was changed into the Dutch Flag. The symbol is accurate.

I’m also a “sir”—my name is MrMereScratch, after all.

Though we used to use our national kingdom insignia before that (a orange with black border lion)

As far as I know, the Dutch East Indies-bound planes used their own flag. That’s what the reference pictures told me, anyways.

I’ve seen the triangle applied only to craft operating in Europe.

Uhm…. Mate… our aircraft insignia was… an orange triangle with a black border
