Installing Creation Kit for Starfield
由 Aurel Tristen 制作
Install Creation Kit to the same drive as the game. It should install directly into the game's directory, resolving any missing .DLLs.

That's it. That's the guide. If it isn't installed properly, you'll get an error about a missing "SSCE5564.dll."

I got the Xbox version. Installed it in the same folder. CK just launches for 1-2 seconds and stops. No error. No explanation. It just stops. I've already bought this game twice. Now I guess I have it buy it a third time or remain shut out of creation.

I can't access the creation kit from my game menu. I also can't access the regular creation shop to get any mods.

Running the latest PC Steam version, for reference.

I installed and ran CK2 with no problems, and now it's suddenly started stalling indefinitely initializing the facegen.

I suspect it's also why Starfield itself can't load an existing save or start a new game now.

Already tried uninstalling and reinstalling CK2, no change in behavior, and also extracted the Scripts directory from the Starfield\Tools\ContentResources.zip file to \Data\Scripts. I had to manually create the Scripts folder in the Data folder, if that makes any difference.

Next step is uninstall and reinstall the game, or the game and CK2 and reinstall.

I wasn't doing anything script heavy either, just copying some weapons and tweaking fire modes, magazine capacity and such to get a feel for navigating CK2.

Anyone else get a crash on launch that produces a memory dump file? It has the following contents:
The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.
Exception code: 0xc0000005
There is more in the file as well but its mostly about what modules its using and local drive information that does not do much in the way of helping solve this problem. So far I have:
- Full bios update
- Full Windows update
- Added exception to windows defender
- checked install directory for game/creation kit
- updated all system drivers

AMD Ryzen 5700x, MSI B550 Board, MSI Geforce 3060 GPU, 32GB 3600mhz corsair vengance ram
Any help or insight would be much appreciated.

Installed Creation Kit to the install directory and nothing happens. Plus, I don't want to be logged online while doing any mod work. I am online, and nothing loads. Says launched but its not.

@Srezic good find!
For xbox players, you'll probably need a PC version of the game to use Creation Kit. CK is effectively a copy of the game itself, so it relies on the game's files to run. You probably won't be able to make it work by moving files from an Xbox install. This isn't some poly to force you to buy the game again. CK is a paired down version of the tools the devs use, and they develop on PC.

Check out the batch file in this directory of the Creation Kit install:

"Starfield\Tools\SetupUtilities\ExportEditorDirToTarget.bat", it seems to copy CreationKit files to the GamePass version.

If you have pc version through xbox then move creation kit folder to C:\XboxGames\Starfield\Content and it should open with no .dll issue
