I suspect it's also why Starfield itself can't load an existing save or start a new game now.
Already tried uninstalling and reinstalling CK2, no change in behavior, and also extracted the Scripts directory from the Starfield\Tools\ContentResources.zip file to \Data\Scripts. I had to manually create the Scripts folder in the Data folder, if that makes any difference.
Next step is uninstall and reinstall the game, or the game and CK2 and reinstall.
I wasn't doing anything script heavy either, just copying some weapons and tweaking fire modes, magazine capacity and such to get a feel for navigating CK2.
The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.
Exception code: 0xc0000005
There is more in the file as well but its mostly about what modules its using and local drive information that does not do much in the way of helping solve this problem. So far I have:
- Full bios update
- Full Windows update
- Added exception to windows defender
- checked install directory for game/creation kit
- updated all system drivers
AMD Ryzen 5700x, MSI B550 Board, MSI Geforce 3060 GPU, 32GB 3600mhz corsair vengance ram
Any help or insight would be much appreciated.
For xbox players, you'll probably need a PC version of the game to use Creation Kit. CK is effectively a copy of the game itself, so it relies on the game's files to run. You probably won't be able to make it work by moving files from an Xbox install. This isn't some poly to force you to buy the game again. CK is a paired down version of the tools the devs use, and they develop on PC.
"Starfield\Tools\SetupUtilities\ExportEditorDirToTarget.bat", it seems to copy CreationKit files to the GamePass version.
